I've been to La Quinta loads of time but this was first time in old town. Funny that it's so close to the resort I always stay at but never been here. Decided to have a wander today, Friday afternoon. First off, it wasn't what I expected. There's not much there. Unless I'm missing something but the area was quite small. There's like a main strip where all the shopping and dining are located. Literally a block with everything around it. I probably have missed more but it seemed like that this was it. There's parking along the street as well as parking lots around it. You have shopping but nothing massive with chain stores. More shop small stores and boutiques. There's like one or two little cafes and a couple of restaurants. It could be the summer season that makes it pretty slow and quiet. But for a Friday you would have thought there would have been people out and about. Also the heat does make it unbearable and uncomfortable to be outside. We saw maybe a handful of people walking around. Also it seemed like the whole shopping area was closed as there was no one out and about. But they were open. Restaurant didn't seemed opened either as I think some only open for dinner. One did look open for lunch but it was emptied. I hope that it does pick up during the weekend as people are in town visiting. It wasn't much as i was expecting so much more. One or two shops that I walked in was quite nice. A bit pricey but a lot of beautiful items. I hope that's it's only quiet as it the summer months where there's less guest visiting. Hopefully it isn't alway like this and is so much more. I'll have to check it out again when the season is cooler. read more

Old Town La Quinta is a beautiful gem!!!! It has renaissance-inspired architecture and featured in Spanish-Pueblo with cobblestone side walks!Charming, unique and truly different! It has walkable street! It's community hub and its very local and great for tourist if they want feel the soul of city! It was a hot 110 degrees day. Our first time visiting La Quinta. Can I say we loved this amazing town! So peaceful and slow paced city. My kids were bored within our Airbnb. They needed to get out a bit. So I googled places to visit. This popped up and was literally down the street from us. Very quiet for a Thursday, but I'm sure it could be from the heat. Lots of parking available on site. There were tons of restaurants, shops, food trucks, coffee shops, and etc....Everyone was super nice! We went to get ice cream, went olive oil tasting, had queso birria from a food truck, and visited a gift shop. Pleasant town to visit with some history. Highly recommended to make a stop. read more

Very nice old town with a very unique elegant vintage style. It's very quiet here maybe because I went during the day, but it was nice and had many boutiques and restaurants to hang out at. It's not that big but it's a decent old town to check out if you want to try some food or look around. I had a nice time checking out La Quinta and what it had to offer. It was fun to see this old town which is always good historic sites. I will def come back here when I'm in La Quinta again. I want to try all the other eateries, and check out the boutiques. I have to say, Old Town La Quinta is one of my favorite spots, especially on weekends between 10 am and 2 pm. Before that, it's usually pretty quiet, and after 2 pm, the crowds start to thin out a bit. What draws me to this charming little town is its quaint atmosphere, with those beautiful mission-style buildings and the open-air vibe that's refreshingly free from overcrowding. The residents here are generally a friendly and pleasant bunch, and you can often spot them out and about, whether it's at the farmers' market or getting their hair and nails done. I absolutely love the positive energy in the air, and it gives me a wonderful sense of relaxation and peacefulness. In Old Town La Quinta, I have a list of go-to places that I absolutely adore: Cali Rosina - for that incredible coconut cream matcha latte that's out of this world. Casa Mendoza - for their fantastic Mexican food and the staff who really knows how to have a good time with the locals. Enzo's - where the bar crowd knows how to bring the fun. DSRT Club - for that sultry supper club vibe that's hard to resist. Lavender Bistro - offering beautiful outdoor patio dining that's perfect for soaking up the atmosphere. Arnold Palmer's - where you can hang out with the 80-year-olds and enjoy the relaxed vibes. There's just so much to love about this town, which is probably why so many people are making the move here. Cute, charming area to walk around and explore while in La Quinta, Palm Desert areas. It is a nice strip with charming stores, various restaurants, nice landscaping and architecture. They hold events here and a nice Farmer's Market and sometimes an Art walk. This isn't Old, but they try to give it some charm and Spanish architectural vibe. Old Town La Quinta was a little disappointing for this tourist. My sister and I were in town and that Old Town would be like everywhere else...an actual old town with some history, ie Old Town San Diego. This is really just a shopping center that is not old at all but built to sort of look like it was. Some of the businesses were open but not all of them...I was there in a Sunday afternoon. It was very pretty, bright white and clean. We got there during a farmers market, they had fruits, veggies, pastries and other fresh items. It was small but had a good selection. This is just a shopping area, very commercial, lacking history or any unique or genuine culture. There's nothing really wrong with that, it's super common really - that's why I was disappointed. The last few years we've found ourselves in the desert more frequently than ever before. With each visit we look for new venues to explore. During our Thanksgiving-time stay Old Town La Quinta came up several times as a suggestion for places to visit on Yelp searches. Our second to last day, Dear Hubby and I decided to head over from our place where we were staying in Palm Desert. It took some time on surface streets to get to "Old Town", but we persevered. Upon arrival, we found a parking space fairly close to the main street. We started strolling and were waylaid by a coffeehouse serving frozen beverage treats. With refreshments handled, we started walking through the quaint, colorful complex. "Old Town" turns out to be a modern interpretation of what a quintessential historic downtown area in a Mediterranean village might be like. Built in the late 1990's, the landscaping is mature and softens the backdrop of the buildings. There are some gathering spaces, which I understand host various events throughout the year. The architecture is designed to reveal rich colors, contrasting textures, and encouragement to explore. I would definitely plan to come for Farmers Market, or seasonal activities. Several interesting restaurants also offer temptation to return. It's not a large area, but it is packed with charm. read more

It was our first time in La Quinta and we were very impressed with the town. It was clean, residents are so polite including drivers, and there was so much to see. It is a very walkable quaint place, lots of shops, parks, golf courses, Museum, restaurants, and antique shops. Word of caution: It was a bit difficult at night, even with GPS, to drive around if you are looking for a specific place. Usage of roundabouts is very prevalent, but lack of lights can cause problems on direction. As an example, going to Rd Rnner restaurant from the Museum , we had to double back about 4 times before we finally got a parking space about half=block from restaurant. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit there. Wish we had more time than a day. And be sure to take photos of the Road Runner birds, which are used to humans PS I wish I had more photos to post, but something happened to my camera and I only had a few from my wife's camera. read more

Old Town La Quinta is situated near the base of the Santa Rosa mountains, which makes for great views. The Spanish architecture is beautiful, and the area is kept very clean. Parking has never been an issue, and it's free. Old Town makes for a relaxing couple hour visit for calm events, food, beer, and dessert. Old Town La Quinta hosts events, such as the Art on Main Street (art sale), a farmers market (on Sundays from 8AM to 12 Noon), and live music on Thursday evenings. There is something for everyone at Old Town. La Quinta Brewing Company is great, there is an eclectic mix of restaurants at various price points, a wine bar, and more. The olive oil shop is great too and reviewed separately. If you are in La Quinta, set aside a couple of hours to enjoy Old Town. A visit after a nearby hike usually works very well. You can have breakfast, lunch, a beer tasting, and then some ice cream....great combination! I also recommend you visit their website to confirm the days and times of special events. read more

This was a fun area of La Quinta! Lots of shops and restaurants. Came here with some friends to go to a restaurant mid-day. The landscaping was pretty with tall palm trees, desert plants, and seasonal flowers. There were lots of benches and areas to rest and take photos. There was parking, however there were only a few spots left in the area that we were at for the restaurant. I can see where parking could possibly be an issue, depending on where you are going in Old Town. I had a good time here and a nice day, so 5 stars! read more

Went to this place because I saw an ad on one of the stores about a Farmer's Market on Sunday mornings 8 am-1pm. Since we are celebrating Harvest and Pumpkin month, there were plenty of pumpkins for photo opportunity and live music as well as produce and other decorations. The weather was perfect when we went. This is a very cute little area. It has wonderful dessert and dinner places!! (Haven't tried them around lunch time yet) The area is about 3 or 4 blocks with stores and restaurants on the outside and a small grass area in the middle. The grass area serves as a great place for kids to play and for people to relax and even have picnics on. There are tons of little tables with chairs and benches to sit and relax on. They have lights strung up around the area giving it a very resort like feeling. My husband and I love coming here and highly recommend it! It's perfect for adults, kids, and elderly. It is a small town but, it's clean, safe, kid & dog friendly, There's hardly any traffic and the parking is free plus the walk is enjoyable. There are no nightclubs but there's great music and dancing. It's a nice mix of tourists and locals. The most recent review was over a year old and thankfully things have changed for the better. Art under the umbrellas on Saturdays in season, the Farmer's market on Sunday mornings, family/health fairs, a taste of La Quinta, Christmas tree lighting, etc., and lots more different types of new shops. Must do's -* Old town Coffee, Nitroinfusions, Le Chateau, H20 Apothecary, La Quinta Oil, Art Under the Umbrellas, Farmer's market, LQ Art festival. Restaurants/ Bars - * The Grill on Main, La Rue, Solano's Stuft Pizza, Wine Bar Bistro, Cafe Mendoza, Lavenders, Arnold Palmers. Because it's not on Highway 111 or Washington Street, lots of people haven't discovered it yet. But they will. Very cute, very clean, and very small. La Quinta covers a pretty wide area, so for the Cove, Old Town is a welcomed addition as it is essentially the only offering. With that said, it's about a block long. But it features good restaurants, a coffee shop, a couple of high-end shops, and a real estate office or two. Parking is free and available on Main Street, or in one of the adjoining lots. Restaurants featured: Solano's Bistro, Stuft Pizza, Lavender Bistro, The Grill on Main, Hog's Breath Inn, The Wine Bar, and Old Town Coffee. Old Town is just this small shopping area - there are a couple of clothing stores, restaurants, beauty places as well as one really good coffee shop. It's just a central area of the majority of the restaurants in the cove. There are a few things to do here besides walk and window shop - they have a farmers market and also I believe an art thing. The parking isn't too bad, there are parking lots on the "outside" of the area. I don't know if this is a "must" to see - but it's an area where most of the locals frequent (for the restaurants). read more

It seems this place has been getting worse with all the "business" they have been getting. I sat there for 45 min soaking in acetone to get my previous nail dip off. I had red dip last time. They overlapped my appointment with at least 4 of girls and made me switch from one seat to another to make room for the other girls. The final product is horrendous and awful. I paid $55 bucks for shit nails. I still have red nail polish on from my last time I got them done. They didn't have any hot water Bc they were getting it fixed so they were preoccupied with making sure that was getting fixed and they had their kids running around in there too. This place is ridiculous and the product they produced for me was unacceptable. I complained and in doing so they wanted to have me again wait and get them fixed if I wanted them done right. I asked for my money back and they said that the guy that never does me but did this time needed to get paid too so I can settle for a discount. I'm so furious. I will never be coming back to this place. Thank you all for overlapping and making people wait longer when they had appointments. read more

There are a bunch of reasons I wish the economy would improve. Not high on that list, but still on it nonetheless, is: "so places like Old Town LaQuinta will come alive". Show up here at the wrong time (midday during the week) and it's a ghost town. I'm sure it's better on evenings and weekends, but there just don't seem to be enough businesses for this area to reach its full potential of being one of the few truly lively non-car-dominated, street-life-having areas in the Valley along with El Paseo and Palm Canyon Dr. It's charming. To be honest, there wasn't much to do there. My family and I went after dinner to explore and found it quaint and mainly deserted. We did enjoy the little ice cream parlor they had there and the misting of dry ice they had throughout the plaza to combat the dry heat of Palm Springs was a nice touch. read more

Best little Old Town ever. The shop/restaurant owners are unpretentious and genuine. Love the clean, safe streets with no traffic jams. The Santa Rosa mountains are so beautiful, especially during sunsets. The town takes on a beautiful glow. This town will always be beautiful because it has physical beauty which will never be ruined. There is a wine bar again :) and this little area is still quaint with live entertainment, free parking and friendly locals. Only busy when there are "events" in the area (between golf and tennis tournaments, horse shows/polo, and festivals that is about half the weekends when it's not hot). Even when it's busy it is usually a reasonable wait for an outside table anywhere. There were a few signs that said no dogs during the Farmer's Market on a Sunday, but our small dog seemed welcome everywhere. read more
