They do everything they can to help you get well again and I really like their approach of trying to help the body heal with natural treatments before going to medications, while not avoiding medication if necessary. In general everything about this clinic is fantastic. The people are very nice, the atmosphere is relaxing and pleasant, the food is healthy and very good, the rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. And they are continuously improving and expanding the facilities to meet the patients' needs as well as adding to their list of specialized treatments. Love this place!

After being transferred from Grants, NM, to Las Cruces, NM, and then to El Paso, we were told they would better manage his condition. He had a serious mass in his throat that was a huge issue, and he was struggling, but he was still fighting. The night he arrived, I was informed that he became very irate and agitated and that the staff told me that they were going to be releasing my father, against the doctor's recommendations. After calling two security guards and then strapping my father to his hospital bed, they decided to administer medication to calm him. I was later told that shortly afterward, his heart stopped, CPR was performed, and he was intubated, despite the fact that he had a DNR in place!!!!!! I can't for the life of me, EVEN BEGIN to wrap my head around how he went from being so full of life, causing so much chaos, to being put on life support not even 8 hours after arriving at this hospital!!! (WHO WAS MORE EQUIPPED TO HANDLE HIS CONDITION!!!!) As his daughter, trying to understand the sequence of events and the decisions made has been incredibly difficult. We have not yet received a clear, detailed explanation of what occurred in his final hours. Losing a parent is devastating. Not having clear communication or a full understanding of what happened makes it even harder. I am currently requesting his full medical records in hopes of getting answers. I encourage other families to stay involved, ask questions, and advocate for their loved ones' care and wishes. Furthermore, I ONLY GAVE THEM 1 STAR BECAUSE IT WOULDN'T LET ME NOT GIVE THEM ANY!!!!

The hospital was also at the forefront of the COVID pandemic's response under the great leadership of Dr. Carlo H. Its Chief Clinical Officer. I had to travel unexpectedly from out of the country to El Paso Tx for funeral services. At times my daughter was being cared for by her grandmothers. During that time, she suffered two separate dog bites within the same week, one while in the care of her paternal grandmother and another while in the care of her maternal grandmother. As a parent, receiving those phone calls was absolutely heartbreaking. My daughter was not under my supervision during either incident, yet from the moment we arrived, I felt as though I was being judged and blamed for circumstances that were completely beyond my control. One staff member even made the comment, "Maybe you should keep her away from dogs," despite the fact that I do not own any dogs and had already explained that both incidents occurred while she was in someone else's care. Rather than showing compassion for a parent already dealing with an overwhelming situation, the comment felt insensitive and judgmental. My daughter was only two years old, in severe pain, frightened, and understandably scared. The staff member repeatedly yelled at her to stop moving or kicking, even though she is a toddler who could not fully understand what they were asking of her. Instead of approaching her with patience and age-appropriate care, they seemed frustrated that she was reacting like a scared child. The nurse became visibly irritated while trying to place the EKG stickers because my daughter was moving and crying. She said, "Fuck this, I can't" along with other profanity. Hearing a healthcare professional curse in front of my child during an emergency was shocking and completely unacceptable. Instead of remaining calm and finding another way to comfort or work with a frightened toddler, the frustration was taken out verbally in front of us. The most concerning part of our visit occurred while my daughter was receiving stitches. She was given a sedative before the procedure, but after the first dose, it appeared that it had not taken full effect. The medical team then decided to administer a second dose. As a parent, seeing my two-year-old require an additional dose of sedation already made me anxious and concerned. After the second dose, the doctor began placing the stitches. The first suture appeared to go as expected. However, as soon as the doctor started placing the second suture and the needle touched my daughter's lip, she immediately screamed out in pain. Watching that happen was terrifying because it made me worry that she could still feel the procedure despite having received two doses of sedation. Naturally, I immediately asked if she was feeling the stitches because, based on what I witnessed, it certainly seemed like she was. Instead of reassuring me, explaining what was happening, or addressing my concern, the doctor's response was simply, "Do you need to sit down?" That response felt dismissive and lacked compassion. As a worried parent watching my two-year-old scream during a procedure, I was looking for reassurance not sarcasm or a comment that made me feel as though my concerns were not valid. Throughout our entire visit, I felt as though I was treated like an irresponsible mother instead of a parent going through an incredibly traumatic situation. My daughter was not injured while in my care, and because of what happened, she will no longer be left in either grandmother's care. Rather than recognizing the emotional toll of everything that had happened, I felt judged instead of supported. Healthcare professionals who treat young children should demonstrate patience, empathy, and effective communication. Toddlers do not understand why they are being restrained, examined, or treated, and they deserve kindness, not frustration, yelling, or profanity. Parents deserve to have their concerns heard and addressed with compassion, especially during such a traumatic experience. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this emergency department to parents of young children. If your child requires emergency care, I hope your experience is very different from ours. Unfortunately, ours was marked by judgment, a lack of compassion, poor communication, and unprofessional behavior during one of the most difficult moments my family has ever experienced. I sincerely hope this feedback is taken seriously so that no other child or parent has to endure what we did.

I am leaving this review as a warning to others with aging parents who may ever require placement…read morein their GBU (Geriatic Behavioral Unit). PLEASE READ if you find yourself needing to advocate for a vulernable loved one. My experience is frustrating and frankly alarming. The provider in this case, Nurse Practioner Jacob Butler demonstrated what I can only describe as a concerning level of indifference and lack of engagement in my mother's care. As the MPOA I made repeated efforts to comunicate, advocate, and ensure appropriate decisions were made. However, those efforts were largely dismissed and ignored, till I indicated I would be writing this review! There was a clear unwillingness to listen, colloborate, or take my concerns seriously. Most troubling was the refusal to pursue a judges order for neccessary pyschotrophic meds despite clear medical need. The justification was the patient was not "aggresive"-is not only inadequate but misleading in the interpertation of Texas Law. Texas Health and Safety Code Chapter 573 explains reasons for Emergency Detention. Texas Health and Safety Code 574, and 574.106 for Court-Ordered Administration of Psychoactive Medications. None of which state aggresive behavior as a criteria with "self-harm" being broader than the explantion suggested to me. Throughout this process, repeated attempts to communicate with her provider were met with dismissiveness, minimal engagement, and questionable clinical judgment. Families should not have to struggle this hard to ensure their loved ones receive appropriate care.
