We have gone to the clinic twice, with the same dog. The first time I was very pleased with the DVM Erin Rogers. Not a long wait, and the price was reasonable. Exemplary service. The second time was a horrible experience. The DVM Elizabeth Simpson was on duty. We waited for over 3 hours. People who came after us were seen first. When our dog was finally seen we were told that the initial bill would be $2500.00. They wanted to keep him overnight and monitor him for negative reactions to the medications and anesthesia that he had already received the previous visit. They tried justifying it by telling us the animals sometimes become allergic to the medication after they have been given them before. When we declined service they tried to get me to sign an indemnity so the doctor/clinic couldn't be held liable. DISHONEST! I think the reason she has moved so often is that people find out that she pads the bill extensively. Her diagnosis was faulty. We went to an Animal Hospital in Anthony Texas. We were seen promptly and the service was great. Final bill, including updating vaccines, a little over $200 dollars. If you do go here, make sure DVM Elizabeth Simpson isn't on duty! read more

I have taken my dog here before and the first couple times he made comments about how he was adopted and we "don't even know where adopted children come from, let alone a dog". While those comments were rude and frankly unprofessional what really drew the line was when we brought my dog in for his allergy shot but there was no where to park, came in to let someone know where we were parked because the lot was full, that's when he came out of his examining office and screamed at my mother and mocked her because he was clearly so busy and the lot was full of other customers (clearly so busy that he had to drop what he was doing to yell at a customer). We decided to go somewhere else, and he was unhappy about that and made some snarky comments about it. The rest of the staff is friendly but the Vet is just unprofessional. read more

I know im in good hands whenever i come to this place for my cats. We had our fair share of different places that were either too small and slow and even other places that were bigger but still had a wait of close to 2 hours before being seen. The worst was when i waited 3 hours! But this place has their system down. Almost with a sense of ER triage to ensure all the animals are taken care of appropriately. Although i dont think the doctor would just skip people neither. What he does is he tries to identify what everyone is there for and then tell his staff to start setting up for those things approptiately, such as surgery versus a wellness exam. That definitely allowed the flow of his patients run more smoothly and i was in and out of there in less than 40 minutes! Hes a very good doctor. A lil odd with a dry sense of humor which i respond well to these days. It can rub off people the wrong way as it would have for me back in the day when i didnt quite understand that sense of humor. But set that aside, he truly cares for your pet as if it were his own and they have a very good way of dealing with cats. Artemis is very anxious so of course he was dufficult to tame, but they did so in the most humane way possible and i truly appreciated that. Its hard seeing your baby struggle and be sad and confused all at once so it was good to see that they had it under control. The visit was $102 which may or may not be steep but i would say fair. He was given a full exam, a dose of the laxative for hairballs, an injection to help his stomach calm down, and i got a whole bottle of the laxative to use at home. So i would definitely say thats fair. The other places we went to before would charge either the same amount or more for less treatment, plus some for the meds. Im thankful to find a place like this and im sure others would agree. There is always a line waiting for the door to open outside and it only continues theu the day. Highly recommend him! read more

Awful! I called to get prices on Spay/Neuter surgeries and right after they picked up they put me on hold, got back to me then after I told them why I was calling they went quiet? Like if they muted their mic, then unmuted and hung up on me. I called a second time, they picked up. you could hear background noise then they hung up. read more

Took care of my fur baby- dont know if the shot he gave him will do. The vet didn't tell me what he was giving him i could barely get a word in with this guy! All he did was yap and every other sentence was to make inappropriate comments and jokes not to mention my 16 year old daughter was in the room and he made a stupid comment about her weight. He really gave me pervi vibes ugh he Even made his techs uncomfortable. Someone please talk to this guy and tell him to keep his comments and not so funny jokes to himself!!! Update: my cat died today. Took him for an emergency visit (different vet clinic) and was advised my cat had kidney/liver failure that he was dying. I advised the vet I had I taken my cat to El Paso vet hospital on Friday with 109 degree fever but was not given a diagnosis nor was he admitted. I dont understand why this guy is still in business!!! He's horrible doesn't care about taking care of your pets all he does is say inappropriate comments and won't even let you talk! Please for the life of your pets And your mental health stay away from this creep!!!! He will send your pet home to die!!! I LOVE Dr. Wentworth and the staff at the El Paso Veterinary Hospital. In the mid 1980's I rescued an Australian Blue Healer puppy. She had parvo, I didn't know what that was. Dr. Wentworth explained the illness to me, kept my dog because she needed to be hydrated and antibiotics. I was a full-time student at UTEP, on grants and work-study. Dr. Wentworth allowed to give him payments,he spayed my puppy and gave her the vaccinations that she needed. Since then, Dr. Wentworth has been our pets' healthcare provider. He might not be cuddly, but he has our pets best interest at heart and considers the reality of the animal's condition and our own financial situation. He is honest, does not sugar coat anything when it comes to our pets' care. To me and my family, he and his staff are WONDERFUL!!! I have recommended EPVH to all of my friends who have pets. read more

The veterinarian himself is an animal! My mom, grandmother and myself all have taken our dogs to this "clinic" if you will. He's rude and obnoxious. Thinks he's a really funny guy. He doesn't listen to the patient's concerns nor does he care. It's all money with this guy. He was mocking my mom on our last visit and I caught him. What an idiot! I hope he reads these. He needs a new profession, maybe work as a bus boy so he doesn't have to mingle with ppl because he has no ppl skills whatsoever. read more

Gives instructions on what to look for in the pet's environment, when I report back, we go back to square one. I haven't learned anything in these weeks. I went to this Vet because i read mixed reviews of it so in a positive attitude I went in. I went to get my almost one year old kitty to get neutered. It was a good price and they only go by appointments however, when I took my kitty they weighed him and took him to the back. The vet did was not friendly and neither were his assistants. When i went to go pick up my kitty they just gave him to me and said not to feed him for the rest of the day, they didn't even bother to tell me how the procedure went or how my kitty was, they were very serious and it made me feel as if they just cared about getting the job done, i didn't like their attitudes, they don't make their customers feel welcomed so I will not be taking my kitty there again and i don't recommend this Vet. read more

I took my sweet cat for her annual vaccinations. Dr. Wentworth and team had us out in 10 minutes; she didn't even have time to blink before the injections were done. If you're going on a Saturday, go before 10AM to avoid waiting. We'll see you again next year! read more

When I went in this morning to get my 10 month old pit/lab mix puppy spayed, I had the muzzle on her because I knew she'd be afraid. She barked a little and was rumbling. Nothing crazy. The vet started making rude comments after he saw on the sheet from Vetco that she is a fear biter. He then told me "she won't live a long life". I said, "excuse me?". He then said, "you'll face lawsuits and she'll be put down because she's aggressive". That was way out of line. Disrespectful, unprofessional, and just plain rude. I then told him he makes me feel uncomfortable every time I'm in there. He said fine, then looked over at his receptionist and said, "cancel the surgery". Whenever I'd take our other dog in to the same vet, he'd always tell other patrons to stay away or stay back because he didn't know how she'd act toward them. She never barked, growled, anything. (She's literally the sweetest, best behaved dog I've ever encountered - not just saying that because she's mine either.) He never said anything about the other dogs that were in there. I just can't wrap my head around how a veterinarian can make such rude, disrespectful comments to a customer and about a patient. To not want to treat my pet because he assumes she's aggressive and in reality he knows nothing about her other than she has pit bull in her and she gets afraid at the vet. In a city with an overwhelming issue with too many pets and the only solution euthanasia - every vet should want to do their part in helping and taking care of animals. read more

Just took my doggie to the clinic, Dr. had horrible humor, talked to me as if I was an Idiot, and did not like his tone of attitude. The both attendants were very respectful, and very nice, clinic was clean. The attendant responsible helped me get my pet from truck to table. But when the DR??? proceeded It went south from there. I work with real estate and photograph homes, and own Prospective businesses, Dr. HAD TO Tell me which is right or left. As if I did not know photography or my right or left hand. Talked to me as If I was a female subordinate, very degrading. I finally had to throw up my hands and said I was leaving and cancel my apt for the treatment of my pet and I will preferably drive to Westside to get a capable Dr for my pet. Without insult. P.S. is even against laser surgery for a eye cyst instead called it invasive and said he would have to cut it foo. Had been going to this vet for 3 years mainly for my dog's yearly parvo shots (since he had a 3yr rabies shot when I adopted it). Had asked several times about having his teeth cleaned and held off due to the cost. Finally had the money in April of this year. My dog was close to 5 years old and his teeth were in good condition except for some tartar buildup. Plus had a small wart removed on side of his neck at same time since he was being sedated. Wanted to have it all done at once. When I went to pick up my dog, he was really stressed out but really got bad when I got home. He would run around the house and I could tell he was in pain. Kept rubbing his jaw on rug and bed and would run when I approached him. I went by his office to ask for something for the pain and they wanted to charge me $5 for single pill that later I found I could be 60 for $17 on amazon. They finally relented and gave me 1 pill and said the next one would cost me the quoted price. Days later when my dog would allow me to hold him and was starting to eat some of his dog food, I noticed one of his front top teeth was missing. Apparently that was why he was in pain. They used so much force on him cleaning the tartar that they broke a front tooth and did not have the decency to tell me what had happened. Now my dog leaves a wet spot wherever he lays his head because he is missing a tooth in the front. Real ass..... at that office. And to top it off, I paid $15 to have his nail trimmed and did not trim them at all. I noticed the nails right away and called and the front desk clerk said the doctor was sure he had trimmed them. I told her he had not and then told me the doctor said to bring him in that next Monday and he would trim them. But after I discovered he broke his front tooth, I said enough is enough. I wont take my dog there anymore. Got ripped off and got bad service. The only reason I did not pursue the matter was because my sister has been a long time customer of his service and she said I should let it go. I can still feel the pain and stress my dog went through. He can keep the damn money. I learned my lesson - be more thorough when checking a vet's credentials. read more

I've been going to Dr. Wentworth since 1994. He has a very dry sense of humor so don't be put off. He cares about his patients. I have a great amount of animals and all sorts of situations and Dr. Wentworth has always been there. He also gives me choices and this has saved me a ton of money. If you want to know how a procedure went ASK him. Otherwise he just gives you your pet, say after a spay/neuter, and you know what to do because they give options and carte instructions right off the bat. Like any other vet he does need to get paid but his prices are very reasonable. He has handled parvo, a gazillion spays and neuters ( I have a small animal sanctuary), bites, accidents and when to say good bye. He is no nonsense but just wait a minute when you are feeling sad and he will get you to laugh. He's got JOKES. I don't know what I'd do without him. Highly recommend. If they had a 1/2 star, maybe. I took my kitty in on Wednesday, because he was having a hard time keeping his balance. As Vet was checking him I explained to him that I have found a dead spider next to his water bowl. his conclusion was he might have ate or drank something toxic (didn't know what was wrong with him), he looked at my son and I as we let gave it to him, (why would I do that to my own cat, take him to the vet knowing I'll be paying out of my ass). He ordered blood samples ($247.00), I called everyday for results and still hasn't received them. around the 5th day, tests came out negative. by this time my cat health has gotten worse, couldn't get up and had to force him water and food. Cat passed away on Friday and didn't results until Monday. Vet and his staff didn't care for my cat, all they wanted was the fees. They were rude and not very sympathetic. so some advice for you animals lovers, DON'T TAKE HIM TO THIS VET! read more
