Northeast Vet, also known as Stellar Veterinary, is going fully corporate and forgetting the people and animals they are supposed to help. I received an email from them stating that, starting in April, there will no longer be discounted shots on weekends. When I called to inquire, a chipper, squeaky voice said yes, they are making changes. When I explained that not everyone has all the money they need for their shots, and that the discount helped a lot, I mentioned that they would lose a customer. Without skipping a beat, she said, "OK! I can email her records or another vet can request them." There seems to be no loyalty towards customers anymore. Stellar Vet Clinic on Diana and Dyer are not a caring, compassionate clinic. It is all about money and how much they can make off of you. They charge for EVERYTHING, so don't use their kleenex. I have been going there for over 10 years and when one of my pups needed surgery, knowing I was good for the money, they said everything up front or take her with you. I took my beagle back in December for a recurring ear issue. My wife and I had taken him twice before, approximately once a year. The first two times they gave him a topical treatment and we were outta there after $300, not cheap but not horrible. This past December we took him back in and I requested the same topical treatment. This time they said they couldn't do it but "recommended" we have a culture taken and send it to Houston, I believe, which in and of itself was $90. The first time I declined and they sent him home with two scripts that did absolutely nothing for my hound. So eleven days ago I took him in again, as a follow up, they once more refused to do the topical and PUSHED taking and send in the culture. I relented and had them do it, I left that time $400 lighter. They gave him some meds, and we brought him home. Took him in for his follow-up, today. The culture that was sent in apparently wasn't enough because they gave him another $45 swipe today. The meds that they sent me home with this last time worked well enough for them to FINALLY give him the topical treatment. So WHY did they push for me to have the culture taken and sent in, when what I originally requested was the ultimate treatment. By my rough estimate I was overcharged $600. Northeast Veterinary once stood for integrity, diligence and true pet first care - now I would recommend they alter their name to Northeast Money Grab and pet service. I will NEVER go back there, and i'd recommend any and all to stay away as well. read more

**experience during covid-19 ** This place does require everyone to wear masks while inside the clinic for both customers and the staff members. They also have sanitizer available for anyone to use as needed. Let me tell you I had a stressful situation with my dog and they were able to take us in as walk-ins and took care of my dog. They have a pharmacy, lab, and x-rays in house so my dog was able to be diagnosed on the spot without having to go anywhere and also left with meds in hand. The doctor was very knowledgeable and helpful as far as answering the questions we had. She also took good care of my dog. The only negative thing I could say is it took all day! I was in the clinic a total of 7 hours, however, at least it was all good. They were nice enough to provide me with water twice since I didn't dare leave the clinic without my dog. read more

Spring 2021. I have visited the Northeast Veterinary Clinc many times in the past 6 weeks. My dog broke her paw on a Saturday around noon and they were the only Clinic in the area to promptly call me back and give me a same day appointment for my dog. They have a great system to handle the COVID19 restriction requirements and I have no complaints. It's actually perfect. They have been extremely caring to our needs and they are relatively affordable specially for the quality of care we have received. I am so glad my dog is now their patient. I highly recommend them. The only con is that due to their population unless it is an emergency its hard to get a "soon" appointment for any other type of care but the wait time is totally worth it. read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. Appointment was at 10:30 and my pup didn't get seen till 11:20 almost an hour later. I specifically went to this vet cause they said appointments were priority but oh boy was I wrong. They took walk in after walk in and my pup and I just sat they're waiting. Finally get back to see one person and then waited another 30 minutes for the doctor to just do a $72 exam just to tell me there's nothing they can do besides show me how to bandage my dogs ear. Came here to have my Aunt's dog checked out and when i tell you the wait time is long, it is looonnggg ! Waited 2-3 hours in the lobby then they finally put me in the room and waited another 2 hours. Then requested to have the dog's anal glands popped/expressed so they had us wait in the lobby while doing which was another 30 minutes. The to top it all of the Clinic was short staffed! It's frustrating cause i'm brining in the dog cause i am concerned and have been coming here for years. Today has been worst day for my Aunt, her dog and myself. All of the staff are incredibly sweet and kind! They make you feel very comfortable and take good care of your animal(s). I just moved to the El Paso area and didn't know where to go and found this place. Every time I've called with questions, the staff member is always so kind and pleasant on the phone. I went on Valentine's day to bring my cat in and as I checked her in, the receptionist gave me a little Valentine's Day card with my cat's name on it and little bags of cat treats. Was the best vet experience I've ever had! The only down side is since they don't do appointments and only do walk-ins, sometimes you have a long wait. This place is overall pretty good. They dont do appointments so that can be annoying but on the other hand I like being able to go there anytime during a weekday if I need to. The wait time can be brutal as Ive been there upwards of 7 hours before so if you want to get in and out faster I definitely recommend going soon as they open. The doctors and nurses are extremely friendly overall and I really love that they even have a pharmacy I can go to right there if my pet needs meds. The first time I brought my pet into this clinic I had 2 cats both had ear issues my boy had a bacteria ear infection and my girl had 2 different types of infections in her ears (a massive yeast and bacteria infection) and it had been getting worse for nearly a month despite my having gone to McRae Animal Hospital twice every week that month complaining it kept getting worse for them both. They had been treating them for mites. Ear mites..... They didn't even have ear mites and they said to just keep doing the mite meds they kept giving me when I complained about it getting worse. I brought them here and they took swabs of my cats ears and low and behold they didn't have mites but bacteria and yeast. My poor girls ears were swollen 3 times the normal size and I am so upset I didn't come sooner to prevent her pain. This place has been my go to since and they have been amazing. Ive been quite a few times and would struggle to complain about the service beyond the wait times. Overall a great pet clinic. read more

On September 5, 2020 my baby Romeo passed away at Northeast veterinary clinic. I was told I would be receiving a paw print so, I waited almost 4 weeks to call them. When I called them I was informed that because they did not do their paperwork I would not be receiving my poodles last paw print. They then told me that they would refund my money but I do not wanna refund. This is extremely unprofessional in my opinion they did not care to do the paperwork in order for me to get the final paw print of my of my beloved poodle for past 10 years. I took my shih tzu for a nail trim and when I got him back he had quik stop power all over his paws. Meaning they made cut his nails so short that he bled on every nail. I've never had that happen at any vet or grooming place my dog has been too. Never taking him here again. Dr. Sanchez has absolutely no bed side manner. Some of the staff there are caring others like the receptionist were just awful. I didn't catch her name, but she had black hair with glasses. She diagnosed my baby then went immediately straight to hospital stay. I had to let my baby girl go because her diagnosis would just prolong the inevitable. Dr. Sanchez showed no empathy, none. Once again I have to deal with this Lucero asst. This time she's checking in patients. The process is to sign in as the big red sign states then you're called to be checked in. She takes someone who walked in without signing in first...while another person and myself are waiting to be checked in. The last time she was a new asst here so was still learning but this time who knows. She isn't very customer service friendly or knowledgeable on the process here. There was a good amount of folks waiting, about 5 to 7, so i asked the lady at the front desk how long the wait would be. She said from 45mins to an hour and a half. Ok fine, understandable. And since they are currently under remodeling or what not, their services are being done with bungalows with the waiting area outdoors. So they allowed us the courtesy of waitinf in our cars and they will come out to find us when time. So we took our babies to the car and started the long haul wait. Probably 10 mins later, they come around already to have them seen. That was a pleasant surprise. The staff are friendly especially the veterinarian himself. We have dealt with an assortment of vets at this point since we've been moving around for the 5 years we've had them. He was very patient and thorough with his assessments and asked all the right questions while allowing us our input without interruption. He also explained the options we had for treatments and the cost expectations and why they were necessary. So they brought us the summary which we signed off on for oral and injection meds and told us we were good to sign out. What we didnt realize though was that they were gonna give the injections in a different room than the exam room we were in. So they took each cat one by one to a different room while we waited in the sign out room. Took about a total of 20mins. Then when they were both done with the injections, we kept having to wait for another 20 mins for our charts to be finalized apparently before we can finally pay. And of course the server decides to crash on us to pay the debit transaction. Perfect. I feel like that whole process took longer than it needed to towards the end and we had no idea why. Just that they still had our charts even though we already signed off on the summary. The injections could have been given right then and there in the exam room and saved more time and possibly any further issues with their charts and avoiding a longer wait on that. read more

My father took his pup into NE Vet for an appt shortly before noon for his noon appt. 2 hours later he still hadn't been called back. He walked up to the front desk and saw a new sign in list from the one he'd signed in on so he knew that they knew they had clients waiting. There was another couple that had been waiting with their pet for even longer. My father is 82 years old and doesn't need to sit around waiting for 2 hours with no explanation or anything from the clerks up front. My family has used this vet office for as far back as I can remember. He is now looking for a new Vet. 2 hours waiting without an explanation or apology or anything is 1 hour and 50 min too long. read more

Now that I have had a chance to get my thoughts together somewhat, I am very disappointed in this place. My best friend, my companion, went into cardiac arrest and ended up passing away, actually while I was holding him in my arms, trying to make a decision with my husband on what we wanted to do, I am not going to go into to the whole story as I am still in shock and grieving this whole situation, but I feel as though some of the staff in this office were very dry about the situation, and what really pisst me off was the fact that they seemed more interested on how all the services were going to be paid. Mind you, I am sitting here distraught, my dog has just died in my arms, and they kept pressuring me about paying this and paying that, and HOW once again, payment was going to being made. The only one who showed any sympathy was the vet who kept giving me tissues, and her condolences. The Dr. was very nice and informative. I have another fur baby who gets her vaccinations there, and I WILL NOT be bringing her back there, I am in the process of finding another clinic. I know writing this review will not matter to anyone, but I needed to write it for me because I AM in the beginning stage of grieving, and was really bothered by the way the office administration were very dry and more concerned about the "payment of services". This place was HORRIBLE!! The wait to get my dog was 2 HOURS!! Just for a couple to a few shots, her nails cut and a examination for A TUMOR/ CANCER ON HER NOSE!!! Even after hearing the news they took their time to give her back to us! On the discharge papers we were supposed to be referred to a specialist, but we weren't even given the freaking number or name of the specialist!!! When we went to get our dog, Tyler, ignored us when asking about when we get our dog! They had called us saying she was ready but we had to stand outside the building for freaking 20 minutes! I would give 0 if I could and I genuinely mean it. I took my cat in because she had been doing very bad these last few days not even eating. After $500 I was told that she was dehydrated but they didn't even make an attempt at giving her any fluids or ivs. you would think after charging 300 dollars even before they saw her, they would've given her something to replenish her strength. They told me and my family to consider putting her down because they didn't want us to waste money on a cat before any bloodwork or exams had been done to help us figure out what was going wrong. After we insisted they do work on her, they found nothing wrong and told me to go pick her up. me and some other pet owners waited an hour outside for our pets after checking in with them. I recently had to put my baby down of almost 15 years. I used to always bring her here for shots, when she would feel sick, or anything. At one point they recommended me to another vet actually for better opinion on a certain topic. Looking back I appreciate that. It was so insanely painful to put my baby to sleep but I appreciate that the staff that helped me were very understanding, helpful and caring. I don't know how some of you guys had bad experiences but I'm sorry about that, personally I really appreciate this place just for being so helpful and patient with my baby girl for most of her life when whenever we needed to take her. If anyone is reading this I hope your pet is safe and happy. If they're sick just try to do the best you can, that's all you can ever do. They feel your love and they know how much you care about them. Enjoy them as much as you can! They're here for a short time of our lives but we are their ENTIRE life.
