These folks saved me $100! I WENT TO THE MOBILE VET ON SEAN HAGGERTY. I showed up at 6am and got in line at 6:30, they open at 8am but this is just the way the cookie crumbles. I left my little dude at 8am and he was ready by 11:30am. They did an amazing job, and they also RX some probiotics since my dude eats everything in sight, I can't keep up. I also got him the IV fluids, laser and pain meds. I paid $240 for his neuter which again one vet quoted me $340 and another over $400. Bring a chair, some coffee and be patient and you'll be good to go. They also called to check on my dude the next day! The staff was super friendly and helpful and bless them for dealing with my furbaby since he's a hot mess express, I blame it on the breed haha. read more

We've consistently found their prices to be high, starting when we were bringing pets to their office further down Mesa. I called about bringing two labs in for a nail trim and was told the price would be $15 for the exam (since they hadn't been seen there in the last 3 years) and either $7 or $9 for the trim, I don't remember. That seemed great! So my husband and I went to drop the dogs off this morning and were told the price would be $40 for the exam and $17 for the trim. So... the price TRIPLED between the phone call and the visit? We will do it ourselves. Called again... this time I was told it would be $56 for the exam. Wow. read more

Please don't go here. they killed my 9 month baby German shepherd husky from a spay operation. 1st off after I dropped her off, ( being the first person there at 7AM) they took alll day to reach out as I was terrified for her. I finally called at 4pm to check in on her, they said she will be ready in 30 minute. when I got there, her incision was waaaay bigger than it should have been, she had blood all over her legs and she had vomit on her mouth. We let her heal and she just suddenly passed away. We've tried calling them to get information on the operation details they will not return our phone calls, we've emailed them and they will not emails us back. Please don't go here. read more

I brought my Doberman in for the first time to Paws and Hooves and it was the best experience I've had with a veterinarian hospital. What I like is that they didn't have lots of other animals in the waiting room so that put us in a calm state while we waited less than 5 minutes to get into the exam room. Peter was our vet tech and he had such a sweet and calm energy about him and my dog liked him right off the bat and kissed him. Peter was able to answer many of my questions and also relay my concern to the vet Dr. Kang. Dr. Kang and Peter took their time with us in a thorough exam and answered all my questions in detail. I felt at peace and happy that my dog received a clean bill of health now that he's a senior and I received some good advice to keep him in top shape moving forward. I called Mesa Veterinary Clinc on a Sunday Morning after my furry friend poop blood. I left a voicemail, text them (their website has such capabilities) and requested an appointment ASAP. Got a call back on Tuesday morning giving me an appointment that same afternoon. Due to COVID19 health restrictions you call them to check in and wait in your car. The staff takes your pet with them to see the Doctor. Once we were seen the staff was nice and attentive. My pooch needed blood work and a series of vaccines. All together after military discount was a bit over $250. They will be calling me back after blood work is completed. Dental cleaning and surgery including meds and blood work was quoted at $1600. They highly recommend to use their website to purchase meds otherwise $13 fee for prescription medication through any other outside pharmacy. Other than being called 48 hrs after my emergency call and text, we had a positive experience. I dislike the extra fee for outside meds prescription but I guess they have their reasons, I will check if they carry the meds I like for my pet. Fingers crossed! otherwise I will have to pay the fee. We shall see in the future how the rest of my experiences are. I did wait 2 hours all together outside in my car and went to a gas station near by to use the restroom. read more

Do not trust their diagnosis! I was told my dog had an inflamed hair follicle back in September 2019. I was told it was no big deal, and sent home with some cream to put on it. Last summer they told me my French Bulldog needed both of his top canine teeth removed due to them being chipped. The prices were astronomical so I took him to Crossroads Animal Hospital for a second opinion, their they put him under anesthesia and did an x-ray on his teeth to find they were both fine. And the price was way more than affordable! Back to the "hair follicle". It seemed aggravated so I took him in to Crossroads and said his hair follicle is inflamed can you all lance it, I've already got the medicine I need to put on it afterwards. The vet said she wanted to aspirate it and see what was going on. When she returned she said that it has mast cells in it that are indicative of cancer! So he's had skin cancer for the past year and 3 months with no treatment. He's scheduled for surgery on Wednesday. I called Mesa Vet to let them know and the Vet couldn't even return the call. I say don't trust them and save some money by selecting a different vet! This was clearly medical malpractice both times! I'm just praying that my dogs cancer is still a stage one read more

We just adopted a former shelter Dobbie mix puppy so I wanted to get her to the vet ASAP to be checked out. Our older dogs have all gone to a number of different vets, always picked based on proximity which always resulted in average service and sometimes astronomical prices. I've grown as a person since the last time I adopted a puppy, I've learned thing that I didn't know I didn't know (like how to use Yelp). MVC had a pretty high rating, a Yelp deal, and a check-in deal for $5 off on Yelp... I'm sold. I called ahead to schedule an appointment for shots and a check-up the following week. The call was very quick and within seconds I had an appointment time that worked for me. The day of, I arrived only a couple of minutes ahead of time and was prepared for a long wait. This is definitely not the closest vet to me, in fact I passed at least ten different vets just to get here, but it was definitely worth the drive. The phone was ringing off the hook when I walked in (pooch in tow) and the receptionist was answering each as it came in and handling it like a pro. Somehow in between calls she had the time to let me know she'd be with me shortly and what paperwork I needed to fill out for a first time visit. Once it stated quieting down she was able to take my pup's weight and was good company since at the moment I was the sole person in the waiting room. Eventually it filled up (and I mean it really filled up). Some with appointments, some without, but all being helped expertly. We were called in first and I was walked to a small room in the back. The tech on hand did a few checks of my puppy and was more than happy to answer any questions I had... and I had a lot (there were some very strange circumstances with this puppy's original shot records and age). The tech seemed pretty happy to be there and my pup fell asleep mid-playing with her. The tech let me know what she thought would be best for my puppy (next time she needs to come in, what kinds of tests they need to run, etc.) and then went to get the vet. I didn't wait too long for the vet and she came in ready to give my puppy her shots (who, by the way, took them like a champ) and give me her first dose of Heartguard and a container for her fecal test (yeah, I wasn't happy that I was going to have to shove puppy poop into a tiny little tube, but my puppy had just gone before we got there... although they did offer an "extraction" method which sounded a lot like when you take your dog to have their anal glands "expressed" and I knew that I didn't want to be suffocated by the smell of puppy poop in that tiny room so I chose the puppy poop tube way). I was expecting a $100 (or more) bill, but was only hit with $68. Along with being able to use the Yelp check-in deal, shots were currently being discounted at $7 each. And apparently the shot discount happens every month. And surprisingly enough, the vet visit fee isn't astronomical. I really appreciate that they aren't nickle and diming you at MVC. Even on their "Payment Policy" it has a little section about what they do in the event that you can't pay during an emergency situation and it came across as though they really try to work with you or help you find a solution. The customer service a MVC is the best I've seen in a vet in EP. So much so that they even sent a follow up email with information that I may not have received while there like how to stay on top of the vet visits online, the fact that they do have a vet on-call for after hour situations (although if they're not available they recommend going to the El Paso Emergency Animal Clinic on the Eastside), and if you refer a friend you get $20 off your next vet visit. And one thing that really stuck out to me during the visit was the fact that I was asked if I wanted a toothbrush for my puppy to start her on good habits now, it's little things like that that make me feel like they're going the extra mile. Along with having a great staff, this is a very affordable vet that makes it beyond easy for you to make sure your furry baby lives a long, healthy life. read more

They're not prompt. They're disorganized. The atmosphere and vibe is one of a social club for twenty-somethings. They'll ask you for a credit card to charge you for a $25.00 deposit fee in the event you show up late or don't keep the appointment. What happens when they do exactly that? read more

This practice took over a previous practice where we had been clients for 10 years. The new owner is not client friendly. My dog had just had an annual visit before the practice changed hands and they would not provide a refill on a medication prescribed without a new visit. Then I was asked to leave a deposit just to make an appointment. I have always gone to my appointments and paid my bills on time. Could not believe that they can not make it easier for a trustworthy client of so many years. Not worth all the hoops you need to jump through just to bring them your business. It seems like money policies are more important to them then the health of your pets keep away. read more

The staff was very friendly as well as Dr. Porras. That is the only positive thing I have to say. After a 2 hour wait, we were placed in the surgery room. It was old, run down and dirty. There was a place in the floor that had what looked like a manhole cover and the flooring was worn around it. There were "dust kitties" on top of the overhead surgery lights. There were endotracheal tubes that were hanging on the wall that had been washed and were obviously being re-used despite the fact that "single use" was printed on each tube. This clinic violates fundamental infection control practices. Won't be going there again. read more

PLEASE BEWARE. As soon as the doctor took a look at me I felt disrespected instantly. As someone who has served in the military I have never been spoken to as such. I was told they didn't know what was going on with my dog and then told me they didn't feel comfortable releasing her to me because "it's not right if she's doing so bad" my dog wasn't in any pain and was wagging her tail when she was with me so she was doing good enough to be monitored under the right supervision at home with medication. they said I should hospitalize her over night. I told them I couldn't afford the $1000 overnight fee and they told me if I couldn't afford it then I should consider EUTHANIZING her. They didn't give me options at all the only options I received was you either pay or put your dog down. I went to another vet closer to central and he gave me multiple options. He told me he doesn't want to recommend anything without trying everything. The treatment she was given by the other vet is working for her and I have hope she Will recover with a little bit of time. This place is just out to rob people. Some people can't afford to be robbed. read more

If you have some pups, this is the Vet for you! Actually, if you have any kind of animal, pups to cats, horses to birds, this is the vet for you. Sadly, I've been visiting this clinic a lot recently. Poor Huggy Bear (my eldest pup) has had some medical issues and the staff here is always helpful and patient. Yes, they can get a little busy and the wait can be long at times, but I think that reflects on their level of expertise and customer satisfaction. Hey, if the Vet is willing to text you and call you when you have any questions, well I think that's reason enough to go here. The only other Vet I've had that kind of service and care was back in Las Vegas. Then during the visits the techs and Vet are extremely understanding, patient, helpful, knowledgeable, and complete. You can see how they can run long at times since they really give their "patient" the entire time and attention they need during the visit. None of this in-and-out in 5 minutes kind of thing here! Even on emergencies they've been really good in taking us in even when they are about to close. I've had a couple experiences here so far. The 1st was great. The Vet and techs were friendly and helpful. The 2nd the techs were friendly and the Vet was terrible for lack of a better word. He was impersonal, off-putting, and felt like he just wanted to sell you items that weren't necessary. No discussion just you need ..... Then he left. He prescribed my dog an oral flea and tick after I told him about a mild allergy to the topical. My dog had a severe reaction. We are/I am still dealing with it as I could not be seen the following morning when the after hours Vet (?) Told me to come in. This Vet also said I should start him on a restricted allergy diet, special shampoo, etc. I think we need to figure out the allergy Rx to the flea and tick first. I'm not convinced the male Vet I saw has my dogs best interest at heart. read more

This has been our vet for over a year so I feel like I am able to give an adequate and well rounded view. While the techs and the vet have always done a good job treating our dog, in the 5 times we have been here, we have never waited less than an hour even when we have had an appointment. In my most recent visit, which was a walk in because my dog was sick, I was told by the receptionists to come in at 10am because it would be a good time. I am still STILL waiting to be seen and it is currently 12:15. Now they are saying that it will continue to be even longer. I understand that things come up and emergencies arise, but I do think it's irresponsible to lie to patients simply to appease their frustration. I would have preferred they told me the truth from the get go instead of telling me that "I'm next" for the last hour. While we enjoy Dr. Silpa, today will be our last day here. read more

This place was a nightmare for me and my cat. I arrived to my appointment on time, the vet assistant saw us promptly and she was very nice to my cat. However, we waited for over an hour to be seen by the veterinarian. By this time my cat who has a history of seizures was very stressed out and uneasy. There were so many dogs barking and just a lot of noise and stuff going on at the clinic which made the situation worse. I understand that by being at a vet clinic there will be dogs barking. However, staff should know cats are different than dogs and the get scared and stressed pretty easy. We spent almost 2 hours at the clinic. My cat was still very uneasy and stressed out on the way home. As soon as I got home my cat started to have a seizure because of all the stress he went through at that place. read more

For a clinic with a four-member veterinarian "team", this place seems unusually uncoordinated, overly busy, perhaps taking on too much than they can handle smoothly and courteously. I spoke with six different people in my most recent experience there while taking my cat. The receptionist staff are young, nothing wrong with that in and of itself, expect they lack basic social skills aren't courteous and seem distracted. The first doctor I spoke to, Dr. P., was like an unfeeling robot. It was a strange experience talking with her about the condition of my cat. No words of comfort were offered, in fact no one I interacted with at this clinic offered any words of caring or comfort. The clinic seems to be over their heads, scrambling to catch up and failing to meet basic client/customer services like timely follow up calls before closing time. Also, I saw no names of DVM's in the front, every step of the way during the visit was a mystery. Who will be caring for my cat? Who will I be speaking to? Etc. their business cards look terribly unprofessional, without doctor's names. Other than that I expected their expertise to be every bit as good as other vets. Since my cat stayed with them her condition worsened and I am unsure they adequately cared for her during her time there. Their IV treatments overloaded my cat's system. These thoughts were shared by the ER vet, which I ended up switching to. According to veterinary medicine protocols, fluid therapy needs to be very precise to be established before administering fluid therapy, to ensure that the fluid therapy itself, won't cause any complications... Were periodic flow rate adjustments done? Was the correct osmotic solutions given for my cats particular electrolyte levels? Were ranges rechecked to ensure it was a balanced treatment? How can you charge so much for hospitalization if these cannot be carried out during the course of fluid treatment. Nothing about rechecking levels/ranges was mentioned to me. This caused low albumin levels. Never again, would I take any of my pets to this place. It makes me realize how much we lost when Dr. Janie Grant (Torres), who once occupied this location at the Dog, Cat and Bird Hospital. Dr. Janie Grant and her staff's hospitality was unparalleled, I miss them. This place doesn't compare. I deeply regret coming here. FYI: this clinic charges more than the emergency vet for things like hospitalization, euthanasia and many more tests and procedures. read more

This is the veterinary clinic where Dog, Cat & Bird Hospital was located. Their prices are high. If you call to make an appointment, they require a $25 deposit. I took my cat there for his routine shots and checkup. Those services cost just under $200. They required blood work; okay, I understand that. My cat has not been the same since. He is limping and his right rear leg is very tender, and it's been two weeks. His appetite is weak, he won't jump up on anything more than 1' high. I called yesterday to get his veterinary records, as I'm going to find a new vet. They asked me to bring him in so they could check his leg. I asked about the charge, and was told that a tech service would be no charge. I agreed to do that. After a quick exam the vet tech picks up my cat and heads out the door; I asked "where are you going, because my cat will not leave my sight again at this facility." He said the vet was in surgery, and he was taking the cat to that area for the vet to see, and I was not allowed there; an X-ray may be needed ... and all of a sudden I'm looking at another $200 bill. THESE PEOPLE DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR PETS! THIS IS A PROFIT-DRIVEN VET PRACTICE. And, did I mention that the quote for a dental on my cat was $1680?? That is outrageous, and 3x what I've ever paid for a dental on any pet. read more

My Lola and I love the staff and they are always so helpful. Sometimes they can be a bit pushy with adding deals on top of deals, but that's part of their job. They are fresh with the animals and always answer my questions and concerns. My pup has Trupanion life insurance so I don't go through them, but they have a ton of plans for your animal to assist them with the best care possible! Dr. Starr was a wonderful caregiver to our dog. Thats about the only positive I can think of though. Unfortunately, the office staff at the front desk were less attentive to our needs. They failed on multiple occasions to call us back, not in a reasonable time frame mind you, AT ALL. We elected to have our boy cremated, the desk staff told us it would take about a week, we waited near a month. When we received our boy's remains back, his name was misspelled on not only his cremains, but also the paw print keepsake that came with. I can't stress enough that Dr. Starr was above average as a doctor, just the rest of the administrative staff needs to pay more attention to details. read more

Price! As far as paying a doctor goes this was the most reasonable vet bill I have ever heard anyone talk about. I took my buddy in on Christmas eve....no one else in town would take him, and unfortunately he had to be put down. I expected a bill over $1000, and after exams and blood tests, exploratory surgery, euthanization, cremation, and the return of his remains, the bill was way less than half that. Here is to a vet who doesn't use your heart and your guilt to line their pockets. The entire staff was very friendly, and I had good communication throughout. We are new to El Paso needed to find a vet quick when my dog's leg was injured. I called late in the afternoon and the staff recommended a next day appt or walk in. I opted for the walk in to ensure he was seen that day. Everyone was very nice and I could tell this vets office was well known and respected because the waiting room was packed the whole time I was there. The wait was a little long but that isn't their fault, they were slammed and it was the last few days before Christmas weekend. Dr Silpa and Kassy were super friendly and knowledgeable and ready to help. They gave me options for treatments so we weren't looking at unnecessary costs right off the bat. The pricing was great- I purchased the $75 for $50 deal on yelp and they gave us a 5% military discount without us asking.
