Very disappointed in this restaurant and if you are going to celebrate a birthday don't bother, they don't care. We looked it up and it got good reviews so we tried it. The chili verde, we still aren't sure what type of meat it was, it was cut up tiny and burnt. We had to ask for refills on the drinks, the food came out at all different times. Things we ordered were not correct, it was very hard to communicate with the waitress even though I speak Spanish, I am not sure if she didn't know the menu or what. We told her that it was our grand daughters birthday and she said OK and looked at her. I asked the manager if they put a hat on people and sang and he said yes. So next thing we know we get our check. I went over to the manager and said we are celebrating a birthday...you guys said you do the whole thing with a hat and birthday wishes etc....the server just brought the check. He said ok hang on. About 20 minutes later the server comes over with a piece of cheesecake and says, "here" and sits it in front our our grand daughter. So I said, "augh do you have a hat?" It wasn't about getting a free desert, we have never been in a restaurant before where the server/ and usually others come over and have a little celebration. What's bad is that the one request the kid had was to eat Mexican food and have the birthday sombrero for her dinner. I am a huge fan of Mexican food. To be a little more specific, I am a huge fan of carnitas and chile rellenos. Both of which are delicious here. I have also had the tacos, enchiladas, nachos... A lot of items here. The beans are good, I am not a fan of rice so I don't eat it. I feel the chicken here is bland but others in the family really like it. I stick to the ground beef or carnitas to be honest (I haven't tried the steak). If you enjoy Mexican food I highly suggest you try this place. The service is always good, the food is very affordable, and it is always tasty. At some point I will try a timale but I haven't had the chance yet. We've always loved eating here but our experience tonight was awful. We got a M.... salad with chicken in the shell and it was good until I found 2 black hairs in the melted cheese. We know it wasn't ours, mine is blonde and my daughters is pink. These were very black hairs. I felt so sick when I found them. I had eaten about 1/4th. I told our waitress and she only asked if I wanted something else. I couldn't even eat after that. No apology and it was not taken off our bill. The strawberry margarita was way salty. Any strawberry margaritas I've ever gotten had sugar on the rim and was kinda sweet. This one had salt and was like a salted strawberry drink. I didn't like it at all. Although the biggest thing was the black hairs in the salads melted cheese. I'll never get one again just because id be reminded of tonight. Not sure if I'll go back to eat there either. read more

You ever crave pizza and Mexican food and don't know what to pick? Well I have the place for you!!! El Patio serves classic American Mexican dishes but with a twist!! They use pizza sauce instead of tradition Mexican red sauce. My husband ( who is a very large man ) barley touched his beef burrito. He kept yapping that it was microwaved meat. I also had a beef burrito and was very disgusted with the sauce. My eldest child had the #12 and had one bite of the beans before he blew chunks. ordered dinner for 4 from take out menu on New Year's Eve. dinner should have been chicken and beef fajitas but only got chicken and no guacamole. price was 12.00 higher when picked up than when ordered from online menu. This place was delicious!!! Some of the best song salsa I've had in a very long time. Service was fine, only fine, but food was wow! I will be coming back. I had the green chili Verde. On the salsa bar there were three that were amazing. I sat there at my table without salsa for about six minutes and finally when I asked the woman if she could bring it to me she pointed and said there was the salsa bar. Great place!! We just stopped in Bristol for a bite, literally just saw their sign and decided to check it out. A quick look at several Yelp thumbs up helped us decide. We're vegetarian & dairy free so Mexican is great if you just ask for no sour cream or cheese. This place had "Vegetarian items" on the menu which is always a HUGE plus. That says the place "gets it". Also another indicator in the menu "we use vegetable oil, olive oil on request". Great. Chips were fresh, not oily. Red salsa was fresh, tangy in a good way, good garlic bite. But the spicy tomatillo salsa was awesome, serious kick! A great sign for spicy food lovers (us) was the three options of bottles hot sauce on each table. Avocado Tacos were fresh, delicious and made to custom request. The veggie fajita needed a little salt, but a great selection of squash, peppers, onion, broccoli etc grilled nicely. Fresh corn tortillas and an excellent side of fresh, chunky guacamole rounded out a fantastic meal. Will definitely jump off Rte. 81 again for this place.... read more

El patio is a pretty decent Mexican restaurant in Bristol. They offer fajitas for two that is a great deal for the amount of food given. You can be in and out of this place in under an hour which makes it a great option when wanting to eat quickly in that shopping area. read more

I'm giving it three stars instead of two because they are as good as it gets around Bristol. Nothing fancy, solid food and service. I really dislike the strong smell of floor cleaner that permeates the building. It's all tile flooring and I imagine they are just pouring buckets of industrial cleaner and hot water at night all across the restaurant. If Bristol had a decent chain like On the Border or Don Pablo's, I'd never eat here again. But until that day . . . Hola Amigos! read more

We have been to El Patio numerous times and the quality of the food is excellent. I have tried many different menu items, and I have never been disappointed. Although the prices are a bit higher than your typical Mexican restaurant, the portion sizes and quality of food is well worth the money. Always happy with this place my favorite thing to order is the Chicken Tortilla Soup, it's a large bowl of shredded chicken that is complimented with a rich stock. They add rice and pico de gallo and top it with shredded cheese, tortillas and a slice of avocado. It is filling but it leaves room for dessert, probably one of my favorite desserts the cheesecake burrito. It's a flour tortilla soaked in butter and cinnamon filled with cheesecake and fried, then they top it with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup, love it. read more

Very happy with this find. We had an overnight stop in Bristol and a local recommended El Patio. We had Carnitas dinner and fajitas for one. The portions are large and the food was great. The service was quick and attentive, the restaurant is near a dollar tree in the back of a strip mall so not a lot of atmosphere. Wanted to avoid the chain restaurants for dinner as we stopped for the night from our DC start. We very much enjoyed the tortilla soup and one of 5he veggie combo. Since we are moving into the are we have met many nice people via Facebook. One lady we met out suggested this restaurant, and are we ever fans now!
