We are visiting Bristol, TN. Today was rainy and we were hungry for good Mexican food for lunch. Our host was not familiar with any Mexican restaurants here. We checked reviews and found good reviews on Casa Mexicana which was only a few miles away. The three of us were greeted and seated by the host. Then, drink orders taken by our server, Juan. My husband ordered the lunch chile relleno stuffed with chicken along with rice and beans. I ordered the Texas Fajitas with chicken, steak, and shrimp. with guacamole salad, rice and beans. Our third lunch guest wasn't familiar with Mexican cuisine and I suggested he try steak fajitas which he did. Juan brought fresh warm crispy tortilla chips and salsa which we enjoyed while waiting for our meals. The food arrived and plates were plentiful. Ed said his chile rellenos were absolutely stuffed with lots of chicken. I enjoyed my fajitas; lots of grilled peppers, mushrooms and onions. I thought the chicken and shrimp were especially flavorful. I loved the guacamole salad with a large tomato on top. The frijoles and rice were seasoned well. The fajitas were only served with 2 flour tortillas; we probably could have asked for an additional flour tortilla but didn't. We were happy and satiated with our meals. We will plan to return again. Most likely, next time I will try the chile rellenos or maybe fajitas with chicken or shrimp. Our server, Juan, was great. He was busy since it was in the middle of the lunchtime crowd but was friendly, responsive and always accommodating. Food was genuine Mexican and everything was freshly made. read more

We are a family of 3. Due to certain reasons me and my brother ordered a vegetarian enchilada, and my order was correct. However, they added meat to my brothers so we went to them to ask them to fix and our waiter got mad at us. They refused to remake the food. My father ordered a plate that had different types of meat. We specifically stated we only wanted chicken in it. They refused to remake his food as well. Instead the staff got mad at us for pointing out the mistake. This was including the manager. We have been driving for over 10 hours and came off the interstate to eat due to the reviews being excellent. Terrible customer service. We did not stay and eat. We have been coming here every year for three years now and have really enjoyed it. This year we took our friends and while the food was excellent they overcharged us on our pitcher of margaritas. They claimed we ordered Patron and we did not. Needless to say we paid the bill but the server received no tip. BTW we are big tippers so we actually came out ahead. We won't be back!!! read more

This place was soooooo good. Honestly I was looking to get mediocre Mexican food because that's was i was craving but honestly this place is delicious. I never thought I would find delicious and authentic Mexican food in this area. We got the queso with chorizo, guacamole, carne asada, horchata, and choripollo. This restaurant had the absolute BEST agua de Horchata, and I'm Mexican. I wish my mom made it like this. The queso with chorizo was amazing as well, I loved the consistency and the spicy flavor of the chorizo in the queso. I felt like I was at home. The carne asada was cooked the way we cook it at home and the choripollo was the best we had ever had. I loved this restaurant. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, I loved the atmosphere of the place and the music they chose. If I ever come to Bristol again I will 100% come back to this place. read more

First time here. I had the plate with 4 different enchiladas and it was very good. Lots of sauce which is what I like. The guacamole had big chunks of avocado, very fresh. Always get a Mexican coke with your Mexican food, makes everything better. read more

We had a great experience on Mother's Day. They are located in a strip mall. Do not expect a fancy atmosphere. It's a good ole family run restaurant. They did well with the new Covid guidelines, service was spot on, and food was very tasty. We had a plain ACP, a Tex Mex ACP, a plain Beef Chimichanga, and a Grande Chicken Chimichanga. The Food was made to order, hot, and portions were large. If we travel through the area again, we will stop and enjoy ourselves once more. read more

I think they are under new management. The food is so much better than it was a year ago as is the service. I thoroughly enjoyed the chips with salsa and white spicy dip. The a la carte soft chicken tacos were so much better than any others I've gotten around here. I look forward to going back and seeing if the rest of the menu is better than before. I've been to a lot of Mexican restaurants all over the world including Mexico and this place was great! The food was excellent, our server Jenny was awesome, the prices were more than fair, and the atmosphere was perfect. The only thing that might have warranted a "less-than-5" was the dining room was a teenie bit chilly, but we'll overlook that due to a high quality on every level when considering restaurants. This place isn't gourmet, but for around $10 a plate, you aren't getting that level restaurant. They kept our cups full & chips on the table. I can't say enough about our experience here but it was wonderful! You will be happy with closing this place the next time you're in the mood for Mexican! I love the food here, I usually order takeout and the food doesn't take long to get out. Some drawback are the parking lot for one is very confusing with people going to wrong direction and in front of the store sometime you can't even go across as it is so tightly packed in with the parking spaces, the restaurant sometimes isn't too clean, my friend went there onetime and moved the napkins and a cockroach ran out. One other drawback is the process on how to pay, whenever you are done or get take out you go up to the middle/front of the restaurant to checkout and sometimes it will be 5+ minutes before someone is there to ring you up, while there is a line of 10 people ready to pay. read more

I've been eating tri cities for ten years. casa mexicana stands out among other local Mexican joints. they serve fresh salsa and a peppery cream type of sauce with their complimentary tortilla chips. they have clearly marked specials on a chalk board near the door. they have the best cheese stuffed pepper (Anaheim?) and shrimp is always cooked perfect. try their mango water if you're in the mood for a sweet drink. they have a great (cheap) happy hour special on beer as well! been meaning to try it! the interior of this place looks very cool you can see the timbers in the roof, the boothes are huge, wooden and heavily lacquered smooth. they look like they could have been hand made. the dining room is large and thoughtfully layed out, you are never crowded even when it gets busy. (often) it's comforting to know that if you're in a rush you can call in or carry out and you still get individual chips, salsa and "cream" sauce! in summary, their prices and service equal the competition, but, the food and atmosphere blow them away! read more

My husband and I used to LOVE Casa, but recently the food and service have gone down hill. We ordered a quesadilla and a dinner combo with chimichanga. The meat inside the chimichanga was not what we had ordered and my quesadilla was cold - the cheese wasn't even melted. Once we got the waitresses attention, she didn't apologize for the meat being wrong or the food being cold. At this point, we had waited 10 minutes to try to resolve the issue and decided just to pay for what we ate, which was an order of cheese dip and our water to drink. She proceeded to charge us for a plate of rice and cheese dip! I wanted to ask her to place my rice in a to-go container if she was going to charge us for it, but we just wanted to get out of there. This review was before the pandemic so I have no idea about the social distancing or the sanitation so this is entirely on the food and customer service. First I'll start off with the food, personally I always get the same thing the Pollo Fundido it is a spicy chicken dish and it is just amazing, they give you tortillas to put the spicy chicken on and even though I don't usually eat the other (non spicy) items my family members have and my sisters favorite thing is the chicken nachos because the chicken is very tender she also told me that the sauce is very creamy and it still has a small kick but not too much. Now we move onto the customer service, they are amazing people doing amazing things with the food they are preparing and I've had about every single one of their waiters/waitresses (my family goes a lot) and each of them are very nice and it feels like they are welcoming you into their house to eat dinner and it feels amazing . And what sanitation they had before the pandemic it was pretty good you could always see them wipe the tables down after and before you sat down and the waters always wore latex gloves bringing out your food. So overall a pretty good meal, you should definitely find time to go with your family. read more
