Los Arcos has had a bit of competition in Abingdon over a newer Mexican restaurant in Abingdon named "Puerto Nuevo" but the truth is, you just can't beat Los Arcos. Worst Mexican food in the area, might as well go to Taco Bell across the street. Called in a order for chips and dips which the owner was to busy to pass on to the kitchen so we had to order again when we got there and wait 15 minutes for chips and salsa. The order was wrong when she brought it out and way over priced. So we ended up paying 16 dollars for chips, salsa and a small cheese dip. I ate at Los Arcos in early October 2019 based on the recommendation of an Abingdon native. He talked up this restaurant and they did not disappoint! We had enchiladas and fajitas and both were great. The salsa was also amazing. So amazing, in fact, that I arranged to have salsa shipped back up to Northern Virginia as a gift for the aforementioned Abingdon native. The staff worked with me every step of the way and were extremely generous in providing me this service which they don't usually do. Food is ok, not great, but ok. It's kind of muddy and all runs together in terms of flavor. My biggest objection is that they don't have a website, but they have copies of their menus on various restaurants search engines. That's all well and good... except when you go to pick it up and find the prices have nearly doubled!!! I purchased an enchiladas supremes, a chicken taco salad, and a large cheese dip. On the menu I was using on the internet that came up to a little over $18 plus tax. When I got to the restaurant to pick it up, it was over $31 plus tax. I asked them to explain and they said the correct menu is on their FB page, and that they have "no control" over what other people put up. The thing that really bothered me though, they didn't even act sorry that it happened. Evidently it is all my fault because I used the internet and not FB. Their food wasn't great to begin with, but I'll be going cross town to Puerto Nuevo from now on. read more

During this whole pandemic we have supported your business because it is local and we use to dine in at least twice a week and we have ordered carry out throughout the past year. I have no problem wearing a mask to dine in but I will not be spoke to like I am a child when I can go right down the road and be treated as an adult because I am a paying customer. So from this moment on I will not be supporting this restaurant because of the way I was treated before entering the restaurant. We love Los Arcos. We are originally from Arizona and recognize good Mexican Food. This as close to authentic Mexican food you are going to get in the this area. It is a little over decorated but that kind of adds to the charm. read more

The service was horrible. The waiter argued with me the entire time. My food honestly was horrible. It tasted like something out of the dumpster. You also have to pay for the LEMONS. Like is their business so bad they are making you pay for every little thing now! 10/10 would not suggest going here. read more

This is my favorite place to eat in Abingdon. The portions are generous, the food is always delicious and inexpensive, and we're always seated immediately. The only drawback is that service can sometimes be spotty if they're busy (Friday nights are ridiculously crowded). Good for large groups and families with kids. I sometimes get take-out from here and it always takes a little while because they seem to wait to assemble everything until you get there, which does guarantee a hotter, fresher product. Try a combination dinner if you're not sure what to order; that way you can sample multiple things. This is always my go-to restaurant. I've never had a bad meal here. read more

I just experienced the worse nachos on the face of the planet here. The ground beef had absolutely no taste to it. The nachos were on a bed of white cheese sauce making them soggy and difficult to eat while the refried beans on top were almost liquid. All this foul bounty in a single layer of chips. Having spent 2 decades in Arizona and having sampled food from all over the state, I have no idea what Dick D recognizes as good Mexican food, but anybody trying to serve slop of this caliber in Arizona would be shot. The sucky part is I live right across the street and if they would have had even passable food I would have likely spent at least 1 night a week having dinner there. As it stands I will never be back. Too bad the Taco Bell Burned down, it is a better alternative than this place. read more

BEST MEXICAN IN TOWN!!! Love the food, customer service is always on point! We eat here at least once or twice a week and we never have had anything bad! We have tried several different items on the menu from fajitas to chimichangas to just regular tacos! I love the salsa! And their PICO DE GALO is to die for! We ate here after biking on the nearby Virginia Creeper. Food was fine. Typical cheap Mexican. With the exception of the guacamole: skip it - it's a thin dip.
