This place is authentic! When my server doesn't speak good English I get excited cause it usually means the food is gonna be on point. My wife got the chicken fajitas and I got the lunch special number five with a taco and burrito, both chicken. We were both very happy with our choices. Their salsa bar is well stocked and I tried three different salsas. They were all very good! Their chips are served fresh too. Ambience is causal and I heard Mexican music in the background. If you have any reason to be in Bristol, VA you need to plan on dinner here. They have a fantastic menu. Nothing I've had is less than fantastic. The fajitas for two is delicious with the steak, chicken, pork, & shrimp. The cantina fajitas, with poblano and jalapeño peppers is also delicious. Several salsas on the salsa bar were enjoyable, with smoky and spicy flavors. The quesabirria tacos here are the best around. And there's a hot sauce that comes with them that I always request more of. Just a side note, my safe dish at Mexican restaurants is the chile verde. If it's good, I know I can be adventurous and still come back to a traditional fave. It's great here too, and maybe my new favorite. read more

How in the world did this restaurant get the ratings this shows???? I might be difficult to please with Mexican food since I lived in Houston for many years, so the choices there were numerous. I always get beef fajitas when it's the first time I visit a new location. This was as bad as it gets. There was NO seasoning in any of the food on the plate. The fajitas were presented in a regular plate, and by the time I was half way through, EVERYTHING was cold and congealing. Even after adding cayenne pepper that I carry in the car, there was no taste. My wife and brother had other selections, and they were also terrible. I really liked this please when we first started going. We thought it was good service and good food. Then the service went way down. I would call for pick up and get a really mean and rude man on the phone to take my order, a few times. He wouldn't do modifications, it was - take it or leave it. So I could no longer get my order the way I wanted. Then the quality suffered. We totally nixed this from our list! After the food went down and the rude man, we banned ourselves from going, no matter how desperate we were. We drive by daily and will not steep foot into this place. It's really too bad. On Monday over 15 of my family members (including myself) decided to do a surprise party for my grandmother, they accepted us and accommodated to our changing numbers and chaotic ordering. All of the staff was extremely attentive, pleasant and kind to all of the chaos we brought. I would never recommend having that large of a party and expecting to be sat immediately, and get great service but our decision was extremely last minute and we just hoped for the best and we got it!!! Having good customer service does not mean laughing at your customers every time they take a bite of food. Two waiters looked dead at my husband and laughed every time he took a bite. This is so Authentic and DELICIOUS! We tried the steak tacos, pork tacos, chopped pork, and the cheek tacos. All were Fabulous. The chopped pork has a delicious seasoning grilled with pineapple chunks. The cheek tacos are delicious, and super tender and moist. They are a shredded meat very similar to pot roast meat that melts in your mouth. The pork tacos are are pulled pork meat that is fabulous. The steak tacos are lean marinated and grilled steak meat. The corn tortillas have to be scratch made and so delicious. All the tacos have chopped onion and cilantro which I Love! We got our order to go. It came with really good green and red sauce, chips and salsa, lime slices and radishes, And grilled garden onions! We devoured our food before I thought to take a picture. I honestly can't say enough good things about this restaurant. It has a drive-thru which is really nice. We ordered and they were really quick to prepare our food. You Definitely need to try this!!!! By far, the best thing to happen in Btown in 2020! A legit taqueria in Bristol with a flipping drive-thru! What more could anyone ask for? The shrimp tostada was superb - the shrimp cooked perfectly and nestled atop a bed of pico and topped with fresh cucumbers and avocado... the fajitas are To. Die. For. and the steak is so tender that you can cut it with a fork... Oh, and the tacos are out of this flipping world. Had Taco Riendo today for the first time. I have been wanting to come since they opened but they have always been really busy. I ordered the chimichanga lunch special. Folks, let me tell you something, this was one of the BEST chimichangas I have ever eaten (and I have eaten chimichangas in Mexico lol). The food was hot, the rice and beans that came with the chimichanga was good and they were very generous with the queso. I am very happy we have a place that serves great Mexican food with a drive thru here in Bristol. Hit them up if you haven't already. This place has the potential to be the best taco place in the Tricities, except for them being EXTREMELY inconsistent. Some days they'll have roasted chilies and grilled onions with their tacos, other days they'll just throw on some raw onion and put radishes on the side. Sometimes they give lime wedges, sometimes they don't. Sometimes the meat will be shredded, sometimes it's just overcooked and chopped into cubes. Sometimes the tortillas are dipped and grilled, sometimes they're just soggy and falling apart. It seems like they have one good chef, and the others should be at Taco Bell. Absolutely 5 star-worthy if their one good cook trains the rest of the kitchen staff. It's a gamble every time you go, but if you go at the right time it's the best tacos around. read more

The food here is awesome but tonight I will have to say their service was so bad me and my wife had to get up and walk out.We went in and had a seat,server never came to our table and asked us what we wanted to drink and never brought us and chips and dip.We waited for over 10 minutes and I had to ask for a server.Finally a gentleman asked us what we wanted to drink and told him water with lemon.We waited another 10 to 12 minutes and still nothing.Finally got up and just walked out.Yhere was enough servers and staff working and yet we couldn't get any service.I love this place and the food but after this I doubt me and my wife will ever be back. read more

This place definitely has potential, but appealing to the bland palates of the whites around here is definitely putting a damper on that possibility. I ordered a Cuban torta, and perhaps its my own ignorance as to what a Cuban torta is, but it was definitely not a Cuban sandwich as I know it (mustard, pulled pork, ham, pickle... Etc) unless they messed up my order. What I got was a torta with chorizo, hot dogs, a fried egg, and veg... Howrer it was DELICIOUS! I'm definitely going to be trying all of the tortas eventually because it was so good it more or less made up for the second paragraph you're about to read. I also got the pork taco pastor and it was pretty bland. As far as I am aware, tacos AL pastor is a beef taco dipped in its own juices, so I assumed this would be a similar thing, but it did not live up to my expectations. The pork, while tender and juicy, has absolutely no flavor or salt at all. The "fixings" for the taco were all on point though, so i'll definitely try a different protein next time. If this place steps it's seasoning game up for its tacos it'll be a five star for me. read more

Honestly, I am NEVER ordering anything with shredded Chicken unless I get it on the side so I can check the chicken myself. PLEASE BE AWARE!! The first time I ordered the Shredded Chicken Taco Salad, I was half way into the chicken and I choked on an inch-long Chicken bone! Checked through the remainder and found a second bone. Took a pic and called it in. They offered to remake it but I asked for the Grilled Chicken (so no bones) Today, 2 weeks later, we were in the mood for Taco Salad so we went back. Believe it or not, I got jabbed in the gums with a broken 1/2 inch bone!!! I drove back and showed them the bone and my half eaten salad. I was told, "It happens sometimes. They didn't do it on purpose! It just breaks off when they de-bone the Chicken" WHAT, SERIOUSLY?!? I KNOW THIS HAPPENS SOMETIMES, BUT AS A RESTAURANT, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE SURE ITS SAFE TO EAT WHEN MIXED IN A SALAD UNDER A BUNCH OF TOPPINGS!!! But TWICE to the SAME customer on the 2 occasions I happen to order the SAME thing? Someone needs glasses! This time NO offer even to give me a discount to order a new one. The guy says the grilled chicken has no bones. I reminded him that the charge extra to get the grilled chicken. $9 for a Taco salad is a hefty cost especially when it's not even a full taco bowl! The drive-thru experience was a nightmare. It took 45 minutes which was really unexpected. But the food is delicious. Based on the article I read in the newspaper it seemed as if this was supposed to be more of a quick service type restaurant but the menu is as robust as a sit down restaurant.
