This place didn't pay me to write anything, I live nearby and tried this place when I moved to Clayton. Was okay. Kept coming back for the margs and they totally changed the recipes and menu or got a new chef or something but GOD it is so good now. Get the Burrito Mexicano or Grande with steak and a side of sour cream if you wanna try my order. Quesabirria is good too. There are some items that I think they still need to work the kinks out, but I'm a "one and done" kind of guy and I found my order here. 5 stars and I'd give 6 if I could. Trust me. Pretty good. Wide selection of seafood dishes for a Mexican restaurant. I love the artwork all over this restaurant. It is amazing! The menu is very full and also artwork in its design and layout. Service was high and low. First half of the meal they were very attentive. Food and drinks came quickly. As we had a long day we weren't looking to linger but they were a little slow in returning for our check. Not a mortal sin, just a minor peccadillo. I'm pretty eager to try more seafood choices from the menu. That's uncommon for a Mexican restaurant in these parts. That sets them apart. At the very least, this place is worth a few margaritas to come in and admire their artwork. Pretty epic. read more

Came to pickup something to take home. The hours on google say open until 9pm. They were in there and the door was locked. Went back because I saw people leave so maybe thought I had trouble with the door. No explanation at all, they said sorry were closed. Not sure if this is because of the new management based on their website. read more

I'm giving this place all the stars they went back to the old menu and its amazing. In have been back twice I'm the last 2 weeks I see so many ppl leaving when they see they don't have chips and dip and the regular stuff you sew at Mexican restaurants if that is all you are looking for go somewhere else there is plenty of that in Johnston county! This place is great if you are willing to step out and try something else! Hope they never change the menu again its great the way it is!!! read more

Heard a lot of good things about this spot. Decided to travel down to Clayton to give it a try. Outside the building is pictures of the items they sell. Outside of being a restaurant they also sell convenient store items. We ordered the Torta, Birria Ramen and a Quesadilla. The food was really good and seasoned well. If I'm in the area I will definitely try it again. read more

This place changed locations and moved into the strip mall right next door. They had the best Birria in the state. HAD. They changed locations. Changed the recipe. Changed chefs. Took the fruit juice bar out of the restaurant completely! No more delicious chips either. The food is such a disappointment now. Especially if you had it from the location on 70. I used to crave this every other week. Now it's on my list of 'never go there again' restaurants. To be clear, on my last visit (to the relocation), my Birria ramen hardly had any meat in the container. Less than a 1/5 cup of meat. Which is insane for oodles and noodles when you're paying almost $20 for the bowl. My Birria Torta was on stale bread and where they normally dip it in the Birria sauce and cook it on the flat top, it wasn't executed that way at all. Instead, they put Birria meat on the dry bread, covered it in cheese, then seared it on the cooktop (cheese side down!) & scoured and burned the cheese throughout the entire sandwich. We came here for the Birria Ramen . Unfortunately it took us 45 minutes to get our food . Very disappointed . We did get chips and salsa when we arrived . The food was decent but definitely not flavorful . The ambiance was nice the bathrooms and the restaurant was very unique and the atmosphere was welcoming . But we won't be coming here again soon was not worth the wait and the food was okay . read more

Bomb Ass Birria!!! I've got this place multiple times and it never disappoints. The Birria is so tender, flavorful and juicy. The tortillas are delicious and have slight crisp edges. The consomme is amazing and piping hot. The cheese compliments the birria so well. My favorite item is the personal pizza because of the size and it includes a very good amount of birria. Worth the money. Try it!! The side sauces are very good too and nicely spicy. read more

I love Mexican food, but get tired of the same-same food at most restaurants. I spent a lot of time on the west coast of Mexico when I was younger, and loved the amazing seafood and other offerings (Chili Rellenos, street tacos, etc.) I have yet to find that kind of food here. My wife was craving Mexican food last night and we stumbled on this restaurant. Their menu is really diverse, the presentation was amazing. We were blown away about how delicious the food was. I would try this place out before the world finds out that they are here and there is a line out the door. I will think to take/post a photo next time. 5 stars for that meal. read more
