First things first: when coming home from Denver airport there are some non special chain restaurants that I always pass by. Am I glad I took a chance here! The menu is EXTENSIVE. Something for everyone. Lots of options. We started with some regular house margs which were just what you'd expect. Pretty decent. Chips and salsa were not special but they did the job. I really only liked the green one. Chips were crispy and tasted authentic and homemade. Next we split the fish tacos which were plenty big for two with a smallish appetite. Rice and beans on the side tasted very much like I remember from Cancun. Muy bien! The atmosphere was light, fairly busy, not too loud. Service was friendly and attentive. Would I come back here? Definitely!!

Dropped in here as I got stuck in Denver for the night and needed a good meal. Service was fast and friendly. Food was good and I would return again if I were in town. Thanks for having me.

It was four of us today trying this restaurant for the first time. Staff was very friendly. The place was clean, nicely decorated and great menus. Seemed new. My friends had different plates. We all had big portions. From fish tacos, shrimp enchiladas and enchiladas verdes. My three friends gave 3/5 to their plates. They found them to be ok. I had the carnitas plate. Initially, it tasted good but as I kept eating noted the dish was very salty. Like in many other restaurants in the area, the gratuity was included so with one alcoholic beverage, my bill alone was around $47 (a drink and one dish). Not sure we would visit again.

DELICIOUS!! I realized that I've been sleeping in a gem! The food was so good. I don't know what they do to the tortilla but it's not an average tortilla. The food was so good. The customer service really stood out and I love the decor of the restaurant.

Great food and in large portions for a reasonable price...until it wasn't. I was staying at a hotel nearby and decided to give this place a try because it was still in its grand opening phase. Decided to to try to chicken mole enchiladas and was snacking on chips and salsa before it came out. Food was out pretty fast and in a large portion, taste was great, but when the bill came I did some math in my head and ask the waitress what was up with the price to which she said it was taxes. So I always ask to get a receipt printed after eating out so as to see the damage myself and lo and behold gratuity was automatically added on top of my tip. They state why on the receipt but I didn't get that till after I ate. So yeah, I like the food but I dont like being lied to my face, can't see myself coming back.

    The House Margarita! Amazing

The food is simply outstanding especially the Birria taco and the house margaritas are to die for . Although the part that was disappointing was they add the tip into the bill ! Other than that the place is fantastic! Close to several hotels all with in walking distance! The decor is fresh and very well appointed!

This was my first time trying El Patron and I was very pleased. I ordered the tamale and chile rellano combination plate. It was a generous portion and delivered in a large aluminum container that kept the food nice and warm. Everything was delicious and they sent complimentary chips and salsa with my order. I look forward to visiting in person.

This place fills up 60 days in advance, without fail! When we arrived, we were able to get parking about a block away on the street. We were soon greeted and guided to our seats upon walking in. This is a very small restaurant - only a few tables, not many options for big groups, and some bar seating both inside and outside. I can see why the reservations are in such high demand! We were recommended to get 4-5 small plates, so we decided on the Guacamole Alma, Burrito de Frijoles Puerco, Apache en su Jugo, and Enmolada de Pato. We also shared the hibiscus margarita and Mex 75. The drinks came out first - the hibiscus margarita was so refreshing, light and delicious! We weren't as big fans of the Mex 75 - but if you like smoky drinks this is the one for you. The guacamole came out first - it was tangy and tasty. I will say that the other dishes were a lot more unique. The burrito was a standout - we absolutely loved the homemade sourdough tortilla, one of the best we've ever tasted. The chorizo filling was savory and tasty. The Apache en su Jugo was unique and had a lovely flavor - if you are a beef tartare fan this is a wonderful dish to try! The enmolado de pato came out last and we thoroughly enjoyed the mole and flavor. This is definitely worth checking out. I will say as a Houston native we have several restaurants with similar flavors and slightly lower price tags and wait times, so I am a bit spoiled in that regard. But all in all the service is wonderful, it's a pleasure to try so many different and unique dishes, and the joy of snagging a reservation is worth it!

Place is cozy, right on the corner, very natural earthy interior design, makes it feel like vacation and very different from rest of Denver vibe. Foods are beyond just tasteful, feels like a whole experience with every bite. You typically need 4 to 5 plates for a party of two, each plate is elegantly designed and crafted. It comes out as a pure perfection, the house cocktails are unique above all is the avocado margarita, which is one of the exotic cocktails of all. Staff are extremely professional, not too friendly, not too cold, just the right amount of politeness to make one comfortable. For my fellow Denver folks, you have to visit this place to experience contemporary Mexican dishes, which, by the way, most of them taste more towards a comfortable level of spicy.

The food was delicious! We got $2 chips and salsa off the happy hour menu and the queso con soyrizo (not on HH menu) which was served with warm tortillas. Honestly we probably didn't need all that because the tacos were so good I could've just filled up on more of the tacos, but still was a great meal! I ordered the lengua, pastor, and taco special (breaded shrimp). They were all so good. Think taco quality of a good street taco spot but with the ambiance of a cute tex mex bar. The bartender was great and made a solid marg ($8 on happy hour). You get a great deal on taco Tuesday but I'm sure you'd get great service and quality any day of the week!

Then you are driving the neighborhood hoping to find a spot. Finally parked and walked to the restaurant. Host told me it would be 30 minutes but the actual wait was 50 minutes. Spend so much time parking and then waiting, at what point do you give up and leave empty handed? Restaurant is VERY LOUD. Finally got a table and ordered OFF MENU. Server agreed to substitute shrimp for my enchiladas and they were good! Fresh corn tortillas were the highlight. Ordered tres leches cake and enjoyed it too. Was a nice meal but just not worth all the hassle.

The nachos were delicious--and messy! The Margaritas were as well. I had a nonalcoholic Athletic Brewing Company Cerveza Atletica (Mexican style copper). There were several other NA cocktails and beers available as well. We were all very pleased with our entrees. They were all luscious. Two of us are vegetarian and there were plenty of choices. I had Crispy Avocado Tacos, which came with black beans, and a side of Street Corn--both great choices. My friend had quesadillas and Potato Flautas , which I tasted and almost wish I had ordered as well. Our carnivore gentleman partners were also very happy, with one of them choosing a sampler, "Perdida's 'Best Of' Plate." Perdida is a great new addition to the Wash Park area.
