We were on our way to drop my sister off at the airport and had some time to kill, so of course we hopped on Yelp to find something nearby. A lot of places popped up, but this Mexican restaurant really stood out -- great reviews and the food pictures looked amazing. It's about 13 minutes from the airport, which made it super convenient. From the outside, it looks small, but once you walk in, it's surprisingly spacious. We were seated immediately, and our server was absolutely phenomenal -- so friendly, attentive, and welcoming. For an appetizer, we ordered the queso fundido with chorizo (you can choose corn or flour tortillas). This is one of my favorite dishes to get at any Mexican restaurant if they offer it, and this one did not disappoint. The cheese was perfectly melty and stretchy, and the chorizo had great flavor that paired so well with it. Wrapping that cheesy, savory goodness in a warm tortilla? So good. For my main dish, I ordered the quesabirria -- corn tortillas filled with birria and cheese, fried crispy, and served with consommé for dipping. It was decent, but I will say it didn't have quite as much flavor as I'm used to with quesabirria. Still enjoyable, just could've used a bit more seasoning. The beans were actually delicious and full of flavor, but the rice was a little bland and could've used some salt. Overall, the service was amazing, the restaurant was clean, and even though it was busy, everything came out in a timely manner. The prices were also very reasonable -- definitely not expensive for the quality and portions. I would absolutely come back to try other dishes. I had a pretty terrible experience here today. I have been several times before and almost always order the same thing (Chile Relleno plate with queso instead of green chile). I'm typically not charged extra but would be happy to pay an extra couple of dollars to get the substitution. Instead I was informed that I would need to pay for a full order of queso at a cost of $7.99 to get what o was asking for. This was a very frustrating policy change and the fact that the manager reinforced it made it easy to walk away tonight and never return. read more

The restaurant is in a strip mall. It's not upscale inside, but homey with a mix of tables and booths. There are a few tv monitors playing sports and a small bar. Our server, Andrea was friendly and checked on us regularly. She brought out complimentary chips and salsa, both were fresh. The menu offers tradition Mexican plus a number of fish and octopus dishes. They also have a kids menu. Prices are reasonable. I had the Enchiladas Mole. The plate was huge with three large chicken enchiladas covered in a sea of mole sauce and topped with onions. The chicken was moist. I'm an onion lover, but the onions on top were a bit too strong and sliced too thick. (My only complaint.) The beans were made fresh and tasted really good. My daughter had the Quesadilla Fajita Plate which came with a thick cheese filling quesadilla and a mix of chicken and fajita veggies and a lettuce salad mix too. She loved her meal especially the char on the veggies and the spicy tortilla on the quesadilla. She finished every last bite. There's parking in the strip mall. read more

Inside, it has that warm, classic Mexican restaurant vibe that feels welcoming right away. They serve complimentary chips and salsa to start, and the chips are so good, possibly homemade, though I'm not totally sure. I ordered the Fajita Burrito Supreme, and it was fire. So good that I actually came back the next day to try the fajitas, which were solid too. My only small complaint was that the tortilla with the fajitas could've been better. This place blew me out of the water! I was looking up restaurants in Green Valley Ranch to have dinner after a friend flew in to DIA and stumbled on this place. The menu looked awesome and the prices were WAY cheap. I didn't have high hopes really going in cause I figured with those prices, it can't be that great. WRONG! Everything from the service to the cocktails, to the food to the ambiance... everything was great. Our waitress was super sweet. She was helpful with suggestions and kept the drinks flowing. She was joking with us and having a great time. The drinks were delicious. Nice variety of drinks to pick from. The food though was the best. I got the chicken and shrimp fajitas. The shrimp were large and butterflied, making them easy to eat. The chicken was super tender and seasoned very well. No so I kind of hate this place YIKES... Hear me out... This is NOT like any other Mexican restaurant I've been to... I came here for the first time a couple of years ago, and I was not impressed with it upon the initial visit, and then when I made this most recent visit, I remembered that I didn't like this place much the first time. First of all, the ambiance is a bit strange in my opinion - typically when I go to Mexican restaurants, they are quite lively and fun (music, sports on TV, decor, etc.) - this place has none of that. It's actually probably the most quite restaurant I've ever been to (Mexican or otherwise). It's a bit strange, honestly. Secondly, the service leaves plenty to be desired. You don't really get greeted when you come in, and then when a member comes to greet you, it's like "okay so what do you want?" they basically just stare at you until you tell them what you want (table for 3 or whatever). It's weird. This last trip, the waiter was extremely slow to even come over to take our order. Eventually, when he finally came, I ordered the "taco plate" (con asada) and somehow the waiter heard "taco salad" and I have no idea how that even possibly happened because they don't even sound close to the same thing :/ So naturally then I had to wait another 10 minutes or so for the correct order to come out. It was FINE. The rice was undercooked and had many crunchy/undercooked parts. This has to be some of the most regular Mexican food I've had, and I dare to say I've had better in the southern states. This place likes to argue with guests. I was a frequent guest but no more after poor customer service with management. I I placed order with Uber Eats requesting for my order to be placed in a box due to this restaurant always smashing my order. They do not take care of guests order when ordered through Uber Eats. I will no longer come in to eat at this restaurant since they don't consider guests who order to go are just as important as when ordering and eating inside establishment. My meal (#2 Combo was delicious. It is a storefront restaurant with lots of parking. I was quickly greeted and asked where I wanted to sit. The chips were warm and crisp and the salsa had a little heat. The cheese enchilada was made with wraps of the thinnest tortillas and in a good sauce. The chili relleno was crisp and the guacamole tostada was on a bed of lettuce so it stayed crisp the entire meal. This will be a go-to place when I stay around DIA. read more

Had the opportunity to visit Garibaldi Mexican Restaurant close to Denver Airport. Took a recommendation from the Yelp Army and again did not disappoint. Located in a new shopping center, Garibaldi's provides great food and service for very reasonable prices. We came during the dinner rush on. Saturday and was able to be seated without waiting. The restaurant was full and the decor of traditional Mexican decor complimented the space. Garibaldi's does have a bar and can accommodate large parties as there were several groups enjoying their meal. They do also have several TVs for those interested in watching the local sports teams. When reviewing the menu we decided on a 3 item appetizer that had nachos, a fried chili relleno and a cheese quesadilla all served with guacamole and a spicy salsa and was very good. We decided on the chicken and steak molcajete and was very delicious and spicy. I highly recommend this for those who are looking for a little heat with their meal. Molcajetes are usually prepared for two persons and can easily be taken home for later. Tables were serviced quickly and the restaurant was very clean. But they sent me a cheese taco (I.e. a flour tortilla with cheese in it.) and put it on top of some steak. The meat is bland, stringy, and a bad representation of steak fajita. I'm Mexican and I'm appalled. If I could undo the decision to order from this restaurant, I would. There are SO many better Mexican restaurants this place. Take your money to them because this is no where near "considered Mexican". I've eaten at the restaurant before and it was the same case! Horrible experience. Went for Monday lunch. To be fair, it's not when a restaurant usually schedules its A-crew. Chicken enchiladas Garibaldi--seemingly a house special--were under spiced and the chicken was dry. Margarita was huge, but it seemed clear they were using industrial sweet and sour mix instead of fresh limes. It was too sweet. The tacos ordered by one of us were delivered well after the other 3 of us were served and also after the table behind us received all their food. The server was polite enough, but lacked training. First time trying Garibaldi while in the Denver area and I can say it was pretty good. Given the chance I would definitely eat here again. The staff is super friendly and stopped by the table just enough to ask how we were doing and top off our drinks. The chips and salsa are amazing! You can probably say that about a lot of Mexican restaurants but this salsa packs a bit of a punch up front which was unexpected and great! I'm not even big on spicy but this salsa kept me wanting more and more - same with my coworker! I got the 4 taco plate (Asada, carnitas, barbacoa, pastor) and loved it. The carnitas and barbacoa were the best and had so much flavor and a fatty texture to it. I was not a big fan of the tortillas as they seemed a little on the wet (almost soggy) side but still edible and not a huge complaint. SPACE: For those familiar with the area, Garibaldi Mexican Restaurant moved in where McAlister's used to be. The space is rather large and open. The only big changes that seem to have happened it the addition of some tvs, a bar, and some papel picado hung sparsely throughout. With so few patrons there, the space felt very empty. SIPS: During my visit I sipped on a soda, but I did see that they offer up a variety of aguas frescas, margaritas and other boozy beverages to pair with your meal. SUSTENANCE: I opted for the carnitas burrito during my visit. Knowing that It doesn't come with any sides, I requested to add rice and beans. I was a little disappointed to find that the burrito was pretty small. However, the burrito had great flavor. SERVICE: There were only two other tables seated while I was there. That being said, service was a little slow. My server also didn't check back with me during my meal. Kind of awkward, but luckily I didn't need anything additional. Accompanied by beans (they had a choice and I ordered black beans), rice, guacamole, and lettuce/tomato/onion. I was surprised their menu didn't have a drink menu as I probably would have ordered a margarita, but he Modela Negra cerveza was excellent. The salsa is delicious and the chimichanga was on point especially with the green chili house made of course Ingrid my server anticipated my every need and even help me clean my shirt after my chimichanga exploded on it. This was our favorite in our area. Today (Monday) we stopped for late lunch. It was 3pm. We asked was it happy hour and our server said yes. It's not much a happy hour. $1 off drinks. No food item. We orders a beer and margarita. Both ordered combinations #2 Enchilada, chili relleno and guacamole tostada. It just said chili relleno no mention of a up charge of $2 for a soft chili relleno. Everything was delicious. We get our check and see the up charge that our server didn't mention. There was no deduction of a $1 off our drinks. I asked the manager about this. She informs us happy hour is Thursday and Friday starting at 4. We had never had an up charge of $2 for a soft chili relleno before. Most restaurants ask if you want them soft or fried. Previously I gave this restaurant 4 stars. The food is delicious but we'll be looking for another Mexican restaurant without all the hidden charges. read more
