Excellent food: Fresh Rice; Fresh Guacamole; REAL Chicken NOT that processed CRAP most Mexican restaurants serve that is hard to chew is Not juicy & has NO Flavor!! I had the Enchiladas Verdes I'm 100% sure it Couldn't be Better!!

This place is amazing, I had the fajita el patron and it was fantastic, I am a truck drive and have eaten food all across the us and this is one of the best Mexican restaurants I have had so far.. the service is second to none ... if you are in the area this is a must try!!!!

    Chile relleno

Nice place, clean and seating was comfy. Food was okay, if we were driving through again I wouldn't seek this place out to eat. Food was bland to me, got a combo plate with an enchilada, burrito and chile relleno. Enchilada I sent back because the cheese wasn't melted, burrito was ground beef and didn't taste like it was seasoned. Chile relleno was good and authentic. Salsa with the chips was very mild and could use more garlic salt. Waiter was nice and friendly, prompt and attentive. Overall it was okay...

The food was average... bland, decent portions, nothing special stood out. Service was great and the food came out quick. Went on a Sunday evening for dinner and there was only two tables sat in the entire restaurant. Some of the prices were shocking... $16 for a cheese dip, $11.50 for a bowl of soup, $19 for chicken or steak fajitas.

Passing through on a road trip, we saw the good reviews and decided to give El Patrón a try, sure beat McDonalds across the street. The food was honestly what I expected for a small rural town: kind of bland, not a lot of spice - but it still tasted alright. Service was fast and polite, the tamales and guacamole were the most flavorful options we tried. Chips and salsa were solid, this is a good local option if you're in the area.

I'll start by saying I was in Warrensburg from out of state for my daughter's graduation. So, I…read moregoogled a restaurant that is close, in a safe park of town that easy to access with plenty of parking and arrived at Cancun Mexican Cuisine. Outside the place needs a little TLC but no big deal I thought. Walking in I really enjoyed the amount of décor giving it that Mexican vibe I love. Looking around the stucko, hanging hats, flags, obnoxiously colored chairs and tables are what comes to mind when I go out to eat at a Mexican restaurant. However, on a 90 degree day, the restaurant was like 92 which was sort of a precursor to the experience I was about to embark on. First off the salsa was pretty bad. It had no heat which I actually prefer but it had no flavor. I literally thought it tasted like a mild marinara as if no cilantro was added rather it was poured from a can. The chips were ok but after tasting the "salsa" I was disappointed as that's usually the highlight. At least my sweet tea was pretty good. Oh the server needed something else to do as he was at the table every five minutes. As for dinner my daughter got the fajita nachos and seemed fairly unimpressed. It was mostly because the cheese was fairly bland but she did like the veggies as they looked and tasted charred. My other got the steak fajitas. While most of it was decent, the steak was TOUGH and had zero flavor. I literally had two bites and had to spit both out because I couldn't get through one bite. She did mention "wow usually it tastes a lot better." Her boyfriend seemed to echo the same point, WTH was up with the food. As for my meal, I tried the Enchiladas Bandera's. I thought it was ok. I liked having three options on one plate but I noticed all the sauces weren't very flavorful. I know being a former chef can taint my view, but most want to taste that "authentic Mexican" in every bite. I will say that the chicken and beef were cooked right and juicy and I liked the corn tortillas. I believe if the sauces had more "life" this would have been gone from an ok dish to an absolute winner. I'll say I was very pleased to have lettuce with sour cream and guac to round out a personalized tasting of each enchilada. Overall, I didn't come away with a great experience at Cancun. While the mood was perfect, the heat, and canned sauce flavors with over cooked beef threw off the whole experience. I'll admit I generally like to visit a place more than once just to be sure it wasn't a one-off experience; I don't have that luxury. My final words are if you want Mexican, consider somewhere else.

At first, I felt like the flavor was a bit lacking overall, but I quickly realized that most of the items seemed more like "add salt to taste." The place itself was super small and had a home-like feel. It's located in a smaller city with a mostly Hispanic and white population, so I can understand the flavor palate they may be cooking for. Overall, I would come back since it seems to be the only place in the area with decent tacos. The family that owns it was very nice, and the service was great. The pozole and salsa macha they had was super good. I'd come back just for that. If you're confused with all the clutter that how stores are in Mexico. They sell everything in a store so it reminded me of a Mexican convenience store/stop and eat place. Don't expect somewhere fancy.
