    Paella
    Kristie P.

The service was very attentive and the sangria and paella good. They also had someone playing covers of popular Latin songs (Karol G, Bad Bunny, etc). However, I do think the reviews on Yelp and Google are inflated. There are plenty of spots in the area with better food. Still a decent option if you don't have reservations for elsewhere.

We loved this one place so much that we came twice as we were in Barcelona for 4 days. The Sangria was the BEST I had the whole trip. Not to sweet and strong. Paella was great, I could have had it every day and the service was the best, so attentive and helpful. This place was also very quiet and great to relax in. Definitely check them out if you're in the area

    Lovely assortment of tapas.

Tapas experience awaits here! Best thing you can view what you may want to try! Charge is per toothpick. Service is attempted & appreciated! Recommend the chicken potato/ beef potato croquette, chicken wings & mini burgers, delish. Drinks were just as good! Yes, whiskey sour & sangria. Love the ambience here, great place to just relax.

Basque pinxtos bar in the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona. Many pinxots offerings from vegetarian, meat, and seafood all well organized for the choosing with tongs. They also offer a full menu, wines by the glass and bottle, and a few beers. Pinxtos range from 1,50 to 3,50 euros depending on toothpick size. Staff is friendly, but this is a place that understands tourists come there as they delicately ask "would you like to leave a tip for staff?" You can if you want, but don't feel the need. We saw Barcelona food tours stop here, but it doesn't mean they slack on the quality of food or service. To us it didn't feel cheesy or resting on laurels. Really enjoyed our stop as we aimlessly wandered that part of the bustling city. Stop in for a few bites, glass of wine and keep exploring!

Really delicious vegetarian paella. Servers incredibly friendly, and right in the middle of a beautiful Barcelona street.

Cold tapas: jamon, smoked salmon, seafood salad

Came here because my mom saw that Rick Steves recommended it. Lol. Wasn't busy at all, there were just a couple other tables filled. We ordered a few hot tapas, and got a bunch of the cold tapas. Everything came on top of a piece of bruschetta and had a stick through it. They give you a cup to put all the sticks in. At the end of your meal, they count the sticks and that's how you pay. For the cold tapas, I got a smoked salmon, a jamon, and a seafood salad one. All were great, I got seconds of each. For the hot tapas, we got the squid, blood sausage, shrimp, spicy sausage, cheese. I had the squid and shrimp and they were both great as well. After paying our check they gave us some grappa, which is some alcoholic beverage you can take shots of for "digestive" health. Lol. Not sure of the cost because my brother paid for it, but he said it was relatively cheap. I would definitely go back.

I really enjoyed the concept that was happening here. Tip: Bar seats are best in house So you are seated at either a table or the bar top. The bar top is where it's poppin, because that's where all of the food is. You take a seat and grab what you want. You're charged by how long the toothpick is that was in your pintixo (basque tapas). Some are better than others and they have another menu you can order hot pintixos from. Those are made to order. It can get cozy so be prepared to rub elbows!

    Mini burger was flavorful

This is a review for the smaller location near the marina. There is only one dedicated full service waitress, everyone else is busy trying to keep the cold tapas bar, and the beer and sangria flowing. The girl that greeted us shut down after I told in Spanish that my Spanish was bad. She did not bring us a menu or utensils like others had received. The only reason why I did not rate lower was because the Italian waitress and the food made up for the neglect from the first server! This was very reasonably priced, the cold tapas were about 2 euros each and none of the got tapas were more than 4 euros. If you are hungry, make sure you order at least one tapas per person because they are not easy to share as most come on a piece of crispy baguette. Pleasantly surprised by ox sirloin, mini burger, and salted cod fish dishes. Sangria was great.

    Tapas, muy caliente

The place had a welcoming vibe, and pintxos were on offer, so we figured why not? Overall, it was a good lunch, but the selection of pintxos was pretty limited - not nearly as robust, creative, or flavorful as a few other places we'd tried earlier in the week across town. Nothing was bad, but nothing really stood out either. Service was okay - efficient but not particularly warm or engaging. You definitely get the sense this is a spot that sees a lot of tourists, and the staff may be a little weary of that constant flow. At the table next to us, a group of fellow American travelers were all eating burgers and fries... which kind of summed it up. That said, the location is convenient, and if you're nearby and want a quick bite in a casual setting, it's not a bad choice. Just don't expect to be blown away. 4 stars

As the kind gentleman mentioned, La Boqueria was just too busy and this smaller market had a better pace for Pinotxo. They have a counter with 10 bar stools and open kitchen format with food displayed at the counter. I can see seating becoming a premium as the day progresses. I arrived shortly after they opened and already there were 3 customers ordering Cafe Con Leches and Xuxos. I did the same with my Xuxo to go. I saw they had Octopus Galician style and despite the am hour couldn't resist. Pinotxo's version was very good-that said, I've had more tender Octopus. Definitely a Tapa size and pricey for the portion but gave me my fix for one of my favorite dishes before leaving Barcelona. I saw Tripe and Beef cheeks on the menu and asked one of the servers which one? She gave me a look of "I can't decide"meaning can't go wrong with either. Ordered the Beef cheeks as I've never had it. Rich, decadent and definitely not a breakfast meal-I liked it! I was told the white cubes were collagen and not fat. Definitely a dish to try. Cafe Con Leche was excellent! The Xuxo (one of Jose Andres's favorites) was amazing! Like a donut, a little bit of flakiness of a croissant and filled with this rich, delicious Crema and as if that wasn't enough coated with sugar. We loved it! One of those delicacies that sells out early. Service was engaged and friendly from all of the people behind the counter. They are located inside the Market at one of the corners (Tamarit/Urgell) before the exit. Make this stop for Xuxos and some delicacies you won't find at your typical spots in the area.

While the restaurant does not look super fancy, it's got a pleasant atmosphere and a nice decor. We walked over around 6:15, which is early for dinner, even for us. The server explained that they had some tapas available, but the kitchen didn't open until 7. We said we'd be back and he booked us a table on the spot. (lucky us as they had a party of 16 locals and the remaining tables were booked except ours!) We wandered to another place for an outside glass of wine while we waited. At 7, we went back and explained Uncle D's shellfish allergy to Mark, our server and asked about recommendations for things we might try that would work for the allergy. He was so kind and advised against certain items that had shellfish or were cooked in the same oil as shellfish. Bless him! We shared the tapas of a pulled pork sandwich, (in a small bun), and a cheese plate with cubes of cheese in olive oil with black salt flakes, and finished with sharing a main course of oxtail, which we were told takes 32 hours to make! All were delicious and we were thrilled we had gone there. The second and final night in Barcelona we were tired, didn't want to have to figure out where to go that might not be too close and decided to go back. This time we booked a table about 45 minutes before we wanted to be there. Lucky there was a table for 2! When we walked in, we were recognized and greeted like family! Mark even remembered our names, shellfish allergy and the wine we had enjoyed the night before which we wanted again. We ordered the same cheese tapas as it was so delicious, along with the chorizo casserole in apple cider, with a main course of the sirloin steak with potatoes and padron peppers. The steak dish was brought out before the chorizo dish accidentally. We opted at that point to have the chorizo dish after. Steak was cooked a perfect medium rare, potatoes crispy outside and soft inside and the padron peppers tasty but mild. Again, absolutely delicious! By the time we were halfway through the steak dish, we knew we had no room in our tummies for the chorizo dish. We asked if it was possible to cancel the chorizo dish, but if they had already started cooking it then it would be ok. Mark was gracious and canceled it for us. At the end of the meal, Mark brought us a glass of a local liqueur that was wonderful. The food, the service, the atmosphere... and both nights local folks enjoying along with tourists, all fabulous. All that to say... if you have the chance to go to this wonderful restaurant, do it!
