We came here for the Basque style pincho bar. Once arrived, we got a standup spot and waited a few minutes for a table. I started with a Txakoli which goes very well with the different pinchos. Later, the waitress recommended a cider which is also common at pincho bar. It was like a sour beer and not very sweet. They had a good selection of pinchos. The staff will bring the freshly made items to the tables before putting them at the bar. All that we tried were yummy. My favorite was the steak. I had to get a second one. It was a great experience and highly recommended.

Struck out at Tapeo, scared off by El Xampanyet's line, so we landed here--fingers crossed. Friendly server, all high tables inside, a few outside. Tapas? €2.80 each, counted by skewers/spoons. Mostly bread topped with cream cheese, tuna, or ham--three in, and you're over it. Hubby went alcohol-free beer (surprisingly decent), kiddo and I tried vermut (sugar bomb). Verdict: Meh. Fine if desperate, but don't go out of your way.

Subpar tapas as the bread appears to be 3 days old and can seriously hurt your gums ... cute place though. The staff may get your wine order wrong, but hey as long as it wasn't intentional.

Great experience. The pintoxs experience was amazing. You just go up and grab your food and pay by the toothpick. 5 toothpicks and we were full. My wife is gluten free and they ended up making desperate dishes for her which took about 15-20 minutes. Wine and ambiance was good. Highly recommend

What an amazing experience! The food, the service, all of it was top notch! We will happily come back and suggest everyone to visit

We were in the standing room part of the bar for about half an hour but it wasn't terrible. The food variety was really great and incorporated different meats, seafood, cheese and veggie options. I enjoyed this concept of choosing a variety of bites. It's a popular concept and highly recommended when visiting Barcelona!

Basque food is always special and this place does a perfect representation of it. We went to the restaurant as where you need to order from menu. Even though pintxos are the star of the show, all plates were truly amazing. They give you complimentary chistorra, a tasty way to start the meal. We got the piquillo with crab, the albóndigas and the gorilla with anchoas which was nothing like the tortillas we have tried before. We closed with the goxua, a basque dessert which was their version of crema catalana, sweeet. We will be back for the Pintxos.

This has to be one of my favorite Barcelona restaurants! I was giving up on finding good food/tapas that was not deep-fried. Its Basque food. Love the small pieces of food with toothpicks. You go up to the counter and pick up what you want and they charge you per toothpick - about 2€ per pintxos. The waiter will also come by at your table every five minutes with a new offering. It's really good food and an amazing experience a must visit when you're in Barcelona! My total bill with about 8 pieces, 2 beers and desert came to 26€ Super friendly and attentive staff.

Pintxos, pintxos, pintxos! Swung by Euskal Etxea for a quick snack while sightseeing in Barcelona. It's an ideal spot to take a break from all the walking, and refuel with some bite sized snacks and coffee/beer. During lunch time the restaurant has an open front room with platters of pintxos and bar seating for folks to pick their bites. All ingredients were incredibly fresh, resting on a fluffy slice of baguette. Next time in Barcelona I will definitely be stopping by again!

I dedicated a whole afternoon to finding the best pintxos in Barcelona. Although these were the only ones I had while I was there, the flavor combinations were so awesome. This restaurant is Basque, and has a full menu but also plates on plates of pintxos at the front of the restaurant that are self serve. It's a la carte and they count your toothpicks (there's a toothpick holding together each pintxo) at the end and charge you per piece. Around 2 Euro per pintxo? My server was so nice (and handsome) and explained all the different pintxos to me, all sorts of meats and cheeses, hot and cold ones. I picked 4 per his recommendation, all so fantastic. He also suggested a basque cider for me to taste, it was not as sweet as the ciders I'm used to in the US, but so refreshing with my pintxos. The tables in the front are high tops and really easy to hang out in, I read some local newspapers and I enjoyed my meal, and the server checked in with me multiple times to make sure I was having s great experience. When I hear my friends say they're going to Spain, this restaurant is among my MUST SEEs in Barcelona! Awesome food, amazing service.

I like the autonomy of this tapas place. You get a plate and choose which one you want, it's 2.10€ per tapa. It was nice to try a little bit of everything. The food had a lot of sardine/fish patay thingies, which I wasn't the biggest fan of. The jamon was good. The sausage was really salty. I would say, go to try it but only get 3-4 thingies, then move onto your next tapa joint.

Tapas served on the bar. Just choose what you want.

NGL, I'm someone who gets overwhelmed and gets tunnel vision. I'm a sheep following the shepherd-- in this case, if you throw your body & a menu in front of me, I'll easily walk in. I'd seen great reviews online about their namesake pintxos, but the menu had so many options and none that clicked with what I was looking for. I was hungry, so I sent it and ordered a few items from the classic tapas: the Squid in Ink Croquette and the Patatas Bravas. The croquette was incredible and so flavorful, while the Patatas Bravas were the complete opposite. The potatoes tasted bland and stale, and the sauce on top was just... meh. I hated how let down I was!! As I was finishing up my meal, I noticed a few people coming in and were sitting at the bar--not usually the most go-to spot when there are plenty of tables open. However, as soon as they sat down, they began grabbing items from the display. I went to check it out and lo and behold--PINTXOS!!! I asked my waiter, and he explained the process: pick what you want, enjoy and pay for what charge you grab at the end. And honestly? They looked and tasted so much better and were way more affordable than what I ordered!! Disappointed I spent so much money, but consider this a lesson for anyone reading!

The place had a welcoming vibe, and pintxos were on offer, so we figured why not? Overall, it was a good lunch, but the selection of pintxos was pretty limited - not nearly as robust, creative, or flavorful as a few other places we'd tried earlier in the week across town. Nothing was bad, but nothing really stood out either. Service was okay - efficient but not particularly warm or engaging. You definitely get the sense this is a spot that sees a lot of tourists, and the staff may be a little weary of that constant flow. At the table next to us, a group of fellow American travelers were all eating burgers and fries... which kind of summed it up. That said, the location is convenient, and if you're nearby and want a quick bite in a casual setting, it's not a bad choice. Just don't expect to be blown away. 4 stars

As the kind gentleman mentioned, La Boqueria was just too busy and this smaller market had a better pace for Pinotxo. They have a counter with 10 bar stools and open kitchen format with food displayed at the counter. I can see seating becoming a premium as the day progresses. I arrived shortly after they opened and already there were 3 customers ordering Cafe Con Leches and Xuxos. I did the same with my Xuxo to go. I saw they had Octopus Galician style and despite the am hour couldn't resist. Pinotxo's version was very good-that said, I've had more tender Octopus. Definitely a Tapa size and pricey for the portion but gave me my fix for one of my favorite dishes before leaving Barcelona. I saw Tripe and Beef cheeks on the menu and asked one of the servers which one? She gave me a look of "I can't decide"meaning can't go wrong with either. Ordered the Beef cheeks as I've never had it. Rich, decadent and definitely not a breakfast meal-I liked it! I was told the white cubes were collagen and not fat. Definitely a dish to try. Cafe Con Leche was excellent! The Xuxo (one of Jose Andres's favorites) was amazing! Like a donut, a little bit of flakiness of a croissant and filled with this rich, delicious Crema and as if that wasn't enough coated with sugar. We loved it! One of those delicacies that sells out early. Service was engaged and friendly from all of the people behind the counter. They are located inside the Market at one of the corners (Tamarit/Urgell) before the exit. Make this stop for Xuxos and some delicacies you won't find at your typical spots in the area.

While the restaurant does not look super fancy, it's got a pleasant atmosphere and a nice decor. We walked over around 6:15, which is early for dinner, even for us. The server explained that they had some tapas available, but the kitchen didn't open until 7. We said we'd be back and he booked us a table on the spot. (lucky us as they had a party of 16 locals and the remaining tables were booked except ours!) We wandered to another place for an outside glass of wine while we waited. At 7, we went back and explained Uncle D's shellfish allergy to Mark, our server and asked about recommendations for things we might try that would work for the allergy. He was so kind and advised against certain items that had shellfish or were cooked in the same oil as shellfish. Bless him! We shared the tapas of a pulled pork sandwich, (in a small bun), and a cheese plate with cubes of cheese in olive oil with black salt flakes, and finished with sharing a main course of oxtail, which we were told takes 32 hours to make! All were delicious and we were thrilled we had gone there. The second and final night in Barcelona we were tired, didn't want to have to figure out where to go that might not be too close and decided to go back. This time we booked a table about 45 minutes before we wanted to be there. Lucky there was a table for 2! When we walked in, we were recognized and greeted like family! Mark even remembered our names, shellfish allergy and the wine we had enjoyed the night before which we wanted again. We ordered the same cheese tapas as it was so delicious, along with the chorizo casserole in apple cider, with a main course of the sirloin steak with potatoes and padron peppers. The steak dish was brought out before the chorizo dish accidentally. We opted at that point to have the chorizo dish after. Steak was cooked a perfect medium rare, potatoes crispy outside and soft inside and the padron peppers tasty but mild. Again, absolutely delicious! By the time we were halfway through the steak dish, we knew we had no room in our tummies for the chorizo dish. We asked if it was possible to cancel the chorizo dish, but if they had already started cooking it then it would be ok. Mark was gracious and canceled it for us. At the end of the meal, Mark brought us a glass of a local liqueur that was wonderful. The food, the service, the atmosphere... and both nights local folks enjoying along with tourists, all fabulous. All that to say... if you have the chance to go to this wonderful restaurant, do it!
