    Vampiro taco
    Mychael W.

Outstanding!! I'm in town for a couple of days and was told I had to try this place. They were right! I ordered an asada taco, a birria taco, and a vampiro taco. All three were amazing. The asada is tender and flavorful. The birria was even better as it's bursting with flavor and just a slight kick from the consumé. But the star of the show was definitely the vampiro. I bit it and had to just stop and look at it! The crunchy shell, the tender steak, and then it has this saltiness that just sets it over the top. I can't say enough good things. If you're in the area, give them a try. If you're not in the area, get here!

El Poblano is located right next to CER hospital. Since I was going to be here a couple of days I figured I'd stop and have lunch here. They have a decent amount of space to with several tables lining the outdoor restaurant. You order your tacos at different windows, so make sure you ask which line has what items. Carne asada were really good. The tacos were tasty, and the meat was cut up in small pieces, just the way I like my asada tacos. Lots of flavor was packed into the tacos. Also ordered quesadillas and tortas with carne asada, and they were even better filled with cheesy goodness. The adobada tacos on the other hand were not that good. The adobada did not have much in taste and I did not even finish them. Not finishing a taco?? That should tell you all you need to know. Definitely disappointed that the tacos were not up to par. Really should be 2.5 stars for awesome asada but bad adobada tacos, so I have to round up it turns to 3 stars. Stick with the carne asada tacos and you will be just fine.

Great little spot. I decided on a torta con asada y queso since I haven't had one in a while. They add everything to it. So good. Ordered traditional Coca Cola to wash it down. Delicious!

This place looks like something you would walk by and ignore. The place isn't flattering but the food is amazing. Los tacos estan bien chingones. It's loud, but happy as well. The cooks and employees are not really friendly, but they're quick and the food is good. If you're in Tijuana try this place out. The birria and tripas tacos are bomb!!!

After smelling this delicious taco joint when I arrived Saturday I was sad to find out they were closed Sunday . But I ended up being first in line Monday and it was worth the wait!!!! I had the tacos asada and vampire. All were delicious and I loved the fresh crispy radishes and pickled red onion. The red salsa had just the right amount of flavor and heat . Ice cold Coca Cola in glass bottle was the perfect touch!!!!! Friendly service, quick fresh food and great prices

Wow so surprised to easily find a great taco stand near the Abraham Lincolns statue. I asked for everything on them and they were not spicy at all. Great flavor and the avocado on top hit the spot! Will be back for more soon.

Excelente comida. Open cabana on private parking lot. Delicious grass fed beef, tacos, quesedillas. Next to Hospital CER.

Nice set up to come grab a bite, excellent service. They even brought food to the table. We ordered "mixto tacos" no bueno, they were ok. Meat was greasy but dry at the same time. They need to improve quality of food. Won't be coming back.

Las Ahumaderas is a collection of 5-6 taquerias on one side street off Blvd. Agua Caliente, one of the main thoroughfares in TJ. The taquerias offer very solid, relatively cheap tacos and tend to stay open until super late at night (often until 4 am). Las Ahumaderas is famously nicknamed "Taco Alley" and gained some international recognition after being featured one of Anthony Bourdain's travel and food shows. I've been several times but last stopped by Las Ahumaderas in September. The most popular spot there (and my personal favorite) is Las Tres Salsas - would highly recommend checking out that taqueria first if you've never been. The most highly regarded tacos here are the adobada (pork) tacos (my personal favorite as well). Ordered two adobada tacos, one suadero (cow belly) taco, and a Sprite. The nice thing about the food and drink at Ahumaderas is that a lot of the basic items are priced the same - each taco and the sprite were 45 pesos (around $2.50 USD) each. The tacos were all well-portioned, tasty, and filling (as usual). One thing a lot of tourists don't know is Las Tres Salsas has two levels, with the second level sometimes having a decent, relaxing view and atmosphere depending on the time of day. So I ordered and ate on the second floor (ordered from the server for that floor). Cash (dollars or pesos) are by far the most common method of payment but credit cards are also accepted at Las Tres Salsas and I think the other taquerias at Ahumaderas as well. If you don't speak Spanish there's usually someone at the register who speaks enough English to get by though the server I had that afternoon happened to speak very good English. Right after Las Tres Salsas I went to Tacos El Paisano, one of the other taquerias in the establishment. Ordered 1 asada (steak) taco, 1 cabeza (cow's head) taco, and a Fresca soda. Like Las Tres Salsas, all of the items were 45 pesos each. The tacos here were also good, though not as good as Las Tres Salsas; both of the tacos fell apart a bit due to being slightly soggy (though again they were good). I'm a picky eater but there are a wide variety of tacos, quesadillas, and other items to try between the handful of taquerias at Ahumaderas. Las Ahumaderas is about a 13-15 minute walk down Agua Caliente from Telefonica Gastro Park, another excellent foodie location in TJ. Must visit if you've never been before!

They have their own designated parking, which is nice, as sometimes parking may be an issue in town. The parking attendant welcomes you and lets you know where to park. You are immediately greeted when you walk in. I typically visit for a late lunch. The restaurant has a cozy feel. The staff are attentive and friendly. The presentation of the food is nice and it tastes good. Some of the dishes that I have tried are: Tarahumara (portobello omelet), Xitomatl (entomatadas), Huichol (chilaquiles con cecina), Mulli (mole Oaxaqueño), Teotihuacán (chilaquiles con chorizo y huevo), and Coyoltzin (puntas de filete). My favorite has been the Coyoltzin because the meat is tender and juicy. I also love that they bring salsas to the table. I like the chiles with oil and vinegar that they make. Overall, a great place to have breakfast or lunch with friends and family.
