Been trying to follow up since my initial issue. I've tried online with no luck and have called corporate multiple times with promises to look into it. Nothing. The last call I was told someone had tried to reach out. Not true. And that they only issue refunds in a two week period. They certainly don't resolve issues within a two week period! We pass by this place all the time, it's conveniently located right off the highway. I have had their quesadillas and was never impressed. I gave them 3 tries, bc I really wanted to like them. The chicken quesadillas always had dark gristly meat (not a fan). Today I gave this place another try and ordered something different. I got the double chicken bowl ($6.& change). It comes with chicken, avocado, beans, rice, cabbage, cheese, and pico. The chicken was white meat (thank goodness!) and well seasoned. They have a condiment bar for all your toppings/salsa. Some are kinda spicy so watch out! My only complaint was that they were a little skimpy on the cheese! The pieces are very small. Corporate needs to make a decision on whether or not they're serious about competing with the other chicken places in the area. I have been wanting to try El Pollo Loco since they came in the metroplex area. The flavor of the chicken was so freakin good It was like charred and juicy at the same time. I got the double chicken avocado salad and it was pretty good, I got it later at night so the lettuce wasn't as fresh as I'd like it but I took in account it was like 9pm, I was excited to try the salad dressing but it wasn't all that to me. They are building a location closer to me and I cant wait to try all of the menu over time and see what else I like. One thing I do like is they have different sides to try macaroni and cheese, chips and guac, coleslaw, beans, and side salad. read more

I'm originally from California so I'm very familiar with El Pollo Loco and one truth about El Pollo Locos is that Chicken is never the same at different locations. Most tend to overcook and although tasty a bit dry on the white meat. Well not at Grand Prairie store off of 360 near DFW. Hands down the most perfectly cooked chicken ever. It was so juicy and tender even the breast meat was perfectly cooked. I told the manager how awesome it was and she even gave us freshly baked Churros. I kid you not one of the best churros I ever had. Maybe it was just my lucky day but if you're in the area give this location a try. read more

The Pollo is not so Loco! I have been here a few times, because the husband loves the chicken fajita burritos. Now the burritos arent as big as Freebirds or Chipotle, but they are pretty big and yummy. I just didnt like a seasoning on the veggies....so I dont eat them. The most recent time we visited here, I got a two piece chicken with mashed potatoes and coleslaw and two tortillas. Sounds and looks like a KFC order and...yeah it tasted very similar. I went to a mexican food place and got grilled chicken and american sides. I just think it is cool that they have such a variety of food. The location of this El Pollo Loco is brand new and located on the west side of 360 just north of N Green Oaks, in Grand Prairie. It is right next door to a Dairy Queen, and is very congested to get out onto the service road if it is rush hour. There is a back way (RIverside) that leads to a light which helps a lot! I havent been inside this place, so not sure about the cleanliness...but it looks very modern inside. read more

They also had jalapeños, which was nice. The charro beans were delicious nicely spiced with pieces of pork for flavor. Food is pretty mediocre. Chicken is always dry, tasteless, and the rice is usually either undercooked or flavorless. To top it off, when I ordered a chicken bowl today, I came back to work only to find a hair about half the length of my arm curled into the chicken. That's pretty nasty. My Breaking Bad dreams finally came true! I originally spotted one of these locations in California and was so excited to see that it finally branched out to Arlington! Service/environment: Extremely friendly staff. Line can sometimes get overwhelming during peak hours. I love how clean and open the restaurant is. Even from the wait line, you can see (and smell.. oh gosh the smells...) the chicken grilling in the back. Food: The menu is pretty simple and most items have that one special item: chicken. You can order them by piece (there are combos that come with sides and family packages), or you can choose an item that most likely contains cuts of chicken (salads, bowls, tacos, quesadillas, etc). The first time I visited, I ordered the avocado bowl, which contained a generous amount of ingredients, but it wasn't amazing. The second time I came back, I ordered a 3 piece combo. You can choose between dark meat (leg/thigh) or white meat. I was totally blown away. I almost refuse to eat grilled chicken anywhere else. The meat was so juicy and the outside skin was crunchy and had so much flavor. Yes, the pieces are small, but they're so worth the amount of flavor and juice. During our second visit, my boyfriend and I were planning when we would come back again as we were eating. Which by the way, we ended up coming back the next day and getting a family meal of 12 thighs just for the two of us! A few tips: -Salad bar is located to the left of the line. It contains almost all the condiments that you will ever need for this place (different types of salsas, pico, onions, jalapenos, dressing, etc) -Peak hours tend to get extremely busy, but the wait shouldn't be too long. If you're in a rush, drive thru is prioritized just like any other fast food restaurant. -Family meals & chicken piece combos come with soft tortillas (choose from corn or flour). The actual sides don't taste amazing, but they're not bad either. -Yes, prices are steep for the size of the chicken pieces. But you're not going to find chicken this good for miles around.
