You will not find a better restaurant to bring kids. They have a hallway where they tend to sit people who have kids. There's lots of space. And you don't have to worry as much about being too loud or disturbing the tables without kids. They give crayons with the menu. The kids menu is great. Beyond that, the margaritas are delicious. I highly recommend the squash blossom quesadillas. Everything I have ordered here is great. The service is also very good. Sometimes, I wonder why I ever go anywhere else. I have been coming here for a few years now and have always had a very good experience every time. Parking is always good and available, even when they are busy. The restaurant itself is always clean and orderly. And the staff is always friendly and efficient. My favorite go-tos are the Queso Blanco and the Chicken Fajitas. The Queso is second to none. The Chicken Fajitas always have a nice wood grilled flavor to them that is sure to please you! A few times I have made it to dessert, but not very often. My favorite dessert herebis the churros. Every time I have come here for the fish tacos I have felt the same. It is like they don't add salt to their proteins. I don't want it salty, but meat needs a little seasoning to make it pop. Also I got NO chimichurri off of that. They also came out so fast, I had just gotten chips and salsa and even the bartender commented on it. I want to like this place more than I do, because it is ALMOST there. I need to check out another location to see if this is just this location or how the brand, rolls. The space is absolutely gorgeous--thoughtfully designed, welcoming, and full of character. We were seated in the back area, which was perfect for families and larger parties. Meanwhile, the bar and more intimate dining spaces in the front were buzzing with energy. It was clear that the restaurant was thriving that day, and I loved the overall vibe. Our food arrived surprisingly fast, and we were able to relax, enjoy our meal, and have a great time. From the hostess who welcomed and seated us to the waiter who made sure everything was correct, the service was attentive and appreciated. Everything appeared to be running like a well-oiled machine, so shoutout to the management team for creating such a smooth experience. The reason for my 4-star rating comes down to the food. While the presentation was top-tier and looked incredible, the flavors didn't quite match the visual appeal. I also returned for dinner on another occasion and was disappointed by the fish tacos. That said, the atmosphere, service, and overall experience were strong enough that I'm willing to give this place one more try--perhaps for a future dinner date. It was a great presentation being torched at the table side, It was a little heavy and oily and I prefer the Regular Queso. We also got the Tequila Shrimp Salad. For an entree, I got the Mesquite Grilled Beef Enchiladas. The Salad and the Enchiladas were tasty. We also got The Corn Elote. It just the right amount of cream and paprika. When we got there there was plenty of tables but by the time we left every seat was sat. Our server was Alex D he was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered a few different drinks off both the happy hour menu and the regular menu from espresso martinis, to draft beer, and spicy margaritas. Everything was so good. We had the white queso, crab enchiladas, side of elote, and the shrimp and elote tacos. The ambiance was beautiful, dimly lit with an open kitchen making it a very intimate dinner. The ambiance was great but outside seating was too hot. I had the mole enchiladas, it came with rice and beans. The beans and rice were bland and tasteless. Literally the worst rice and beans I've ever had. The mole was not good either. After experiencing this, I asked around if it was just me or if everyone had the same issue. What a beautiful restaurant! If you're looking for a cute date night or even a girls dinner, this is the place to go. The lighting is moody, and on the darker side and the restaurant itself is large but it gets so busy that it does feel tight when walking around. We attended a private party in one of the rooms, which was closed off from the rest of the restaurant. Overall a great space for the ~37 people and even a space open for a guitarrist. The room itself did get a little warm and dark, but it was a very intimate feel. The acoustics was definitely a little rough, since we weren't able to hear each other very well with the noise from the rest of the party or when the doors opened and the rest of the restaurants noise filtered in. Service for the most part was not bad, refills had to mainly be requested since they stopped quickly by each table and rather than check with everyone it was a "refill?" and quickly walk away. Bar orders from the servers went a lot more smoothly. The food was not bad, to be expected for the area. We had great chips and salsa with queso and guacamole to start. You honestly can't go wrong. The cesar salad was okay and the enchiladas were not too bad. I was a huge fan of the refried black beans and my husband was a huge fan of the cilantro lime rice. The steak in the enchiladas were a little too well done and another party goer had some chicken fajita that the knife would not cut through because it was so overcooked. Overall the food was okay. Sat at the bar for dinner by myself while staying at a nearby hotel. They had so many employees behind the bar and running around the restaurant. Everyone I interacted with was great and took care of me. The margarita was delicious and the chips and salsa were unique. The salsa was a warm salsa and more like a mole than a traditional salsa. The enchiladas were large and pretty good but nothing special. The side of elote was also large and I couldn't even finish it. It was full of flavor and the perfect side to go with my meal. There also seemed to be a private room, not sure if it's available for event reservations. And the service was super quick and friendly. The spicy marg was nothing special in my opinion, but still good. My sister ordered the horchata with a shot of vodka, which I thought was a fun little twist. For my meal, I ordered the roasted chicken enchiladas, and they were delicious! The green rice that it came with was incredibly flavorful. We had a delightful experience at Mexican Sugar. We were a party of 13 and they were ready to go at our reservation time. The table was large enough and the space comfortable. This restaurant is really large and it was packed on a Wednesday night but they did a great job managing it all. Our server was efficient. She wasn't the friendliest server I've ever experienced but she was consistent and everything came out as expected. The food itself was very good and there were good portion sizes. "These are the best fajitas I've ever had." My husband is obsessed with this restaurant. First time, and we had no issue getting a table on a Saturday night even though it looked the parking lot was FULL. It seems like it's always pretty full so don't let that deter you. The complimentary chips and hot salsa are so addictive. Salsa served warm was a new experience for me and it's far superior. It has a little marinara taste and I'm assuming cheese in it? There's a stringy part of the salsa. 10/10. I had pescado tacos and my husband had the steak and chicken fajitas. The tacos were ok - a little fishy and the pieces of fish were HUGE so there is no way I could finish 3. I wouldn't get them again but if you're a die hard fish person, you'll like them. In town for just two nights and was in the mood for Mexican food and stopped by. Arrived at 8:15pm on a Tuesday night and was surprised at how busy they were. Huge restaurant with tons of people inside. Massive parking lot and had to park far away to find an open spot. Impressive inside decor, very elegant and upscale. One advantage of being such a big restaurant they can EASILY accommodate a big group. Walked in and enjoyed hearing the Spanish pop music (I am fluent in Spanish). Despite being busy and didn't have to wait for a table. I was impressed with how attentive the staff was. My server stopped by several times to check on me and she had a helper that also stopped by frequently. Ordered the lump crab enchiladas and absolutely LOVED the dish. Only $24 and it came with a generous amount of crab. Fresh corn tortillas and a delicious green sauce. It came with black beans and they were perfectly seasoned (black beans can be real bland if you don't know how to prepare them, they obviously do!). The rice was also delicious. It was dark inside and I was trying to figure out what was DIFFERENT about their rice. Asked my server, there is some chimichurri sauce in it! Had to order dessert and I got the coconut tres leches. It was topped with whipped cream and sliced strawberries. The coconut was a little different for a tres leches cake but it worked and was delicious. Had an amazing dinner. When I looked up Mexican near Coppel I wasn't really thinking this. It's far more bar than authentic Mexican food, it's not really Tex-Mex either. Pan Latin is how they sell themselves and it's corporate. Came here for dinner and while I bartended and ran bar programs for decades I no longer drink, but can mark a drinks program from their menu. Some interesting items and some questionable pushes. No tommy's marg, cazadores on menu, carajillo style espresso martini (it's it's own drink and not a style), st. germain? Las Estrellas flight is sus considering they are additive bombs, but hey it's Dallas. The machete is a banger since it's basically 2 great cocktails mixed together. I like their use of illegal, ancho reyes, don fulano in the flights, sotol durangese mezcal and other quality ingredients. The repo flight value is bested only by the mezcal flight. I've had all of them and know they aren't making money on the flights the way they are on the cocktails. Spanish mussels are cooked in the spanish style only, with Mexican ingredients, needed more garlic and citrus. Spanish and Mexican chorizo are different. Queso was mediocre, chips mediocre. Squash blossom quesadilla really should have been a separate dish and oyster mushrooms over huitlacoche would have elevated this. It was filling. The Caesar salad IS Mexican and doesn't need that designation, not is it a vinagrette either. Pepitas doesn't make it more authentic, it makes it less. I should have known better than to try it, I regretted it immediately. My friend got the mango napa chicken and it almost tasted like a fusion dish, very good, very interesting. Goat cheese and beets were refreshing and reminded me of Queso de cabra without the balsamic. I filled up by now and wasn't regretting not getting tacos seeing brisket barbacoa, chimichurri asada, way too much pico and pickled red onions on my friends plates. My salmon was excellent, a rare item of calabacita, annato and the poblano corn sauce balanced it out. Usually salmon dishes they load you with blank carbs or green vegetables. I'm sure when I come back I'll try other things, but there are items that don't interest me (Wagyu, slow roasted pork chop, the Hamburger, chicken mole enchiladas). I am quite interested in the Crab enchiladas Prices are good, service was mediocre, ambiance is nice, it's about entertaining guests rather than dining experience. It's loud and not in the good way, the way that annoys and makes you not be able to talk with your server, bar staff or guests. Lots of groups and rooms make it easier to make the service flaws behind shared group service. It's good for what it is, but it's not trying to be authentic, it's trying to provide value as it's a niche market they cater to. read more

The food and drinks were just as good as I expected, and the atmosphere was perfect for a casual group dinner. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is our server. She wasn't rude, just seemed rushed the entire time. She didn't offer any helpful recommendations and didn't really engage with us. It wasn't bad service, just not memorable. There are multiple locations and this was my first time at Mexican Sugar. The restaurant is pretty big and ambience is nice. It is on the darker side. They start you off with chips and warm salsa which is flavorful. If you want more spice ask for their habernero salsa. I got cheese enchiladas and substituted it with mole sauce. I was warned by the server that is it spicy and people have returns the dish due to spice. It was indeed very spicy but good. A little clover heavy than your usual. I did have to ask for a little queso on the spice to take the spice. Sour cream drizzle was missing from my mole enchiladas which would have helped. Drinks are great and they have a margarita flight! We were a group of ten and I saw other large parties. Our waiter was great and quick (forgot his name). Great place for big groups or date night but can be a little loud. read more

The waitress was so friendly, the vibes were so cute and it took us no time to get our food! I got the margarita flight and honestly it wasn't great, I probably just would have gotten a different cocktail but that's okay! The guac appetizer was delicious and sadly the chips are technically GF but fried in a fryer with other things but I decided to risk it and ended up being fine. The tacos were delicious and tender, my lobster was incredible, shrimp were pretty good, but scallops were borderline on their way to being overcooked. The lobster really was amazing though.
