I have been frequently this location for over 10 plus years. The food is always fresh and hot and considering the lines are always wrapped around the parking lot they do a great job getting you in and out as quickly as possible. Well, everything was great until Wednesday January 18th, ( my birthday) . I had dinner plans for the evening so I was just dashing in here to grab my 85 year old mother some dinner. Around 3ishpm, I bought a three piece dark meal, with beans and rice as sides. Once I hit home (I only live five mins from this location) I ate a chicken leg to hold me over before dinner at 7. Within an hour my stomach started hurting. The pain became increasingly worse. I had no idea what it was or where it came from. All I knew was I honestly thought I was dying. The paramedics were called and they said it was food poisoning. I know it came from El Pollo Loco because the only other thing I had eaten that day was a bagel for breakfast. The chicken looked fully cooked so I can only assume that at some point it had no been handled properly. The worst El Pollo Loco I have ever ordered from. Extremely difficult to understand the individual taking the order. Very rude and interrupted me many times. Could not understand me when I asked for a large unsweetened tea, if Raspberry is not unsweetened then not would not fall under my request. She got rude and abrupt and didn't even acknowledged me at the window when handing my food to me. She was visibility giving me attitude.
