Full of flavor, just on the smaller side--which is completely fine--just for expectation setting I wanted to share. Sides are hit or miss but really all based on preference. I come to this location regularly. I've never had any issues. The food is always fresh and delicious. Service is also great. My kids like eating here often because not only do they like the food, but the employees here are always so nice to them. The seating could be redone, because they are starting to look older. But it's clean and ok for a quick lunch or dinner. We usually do their families deals, but their bowls and tostada salads are also good. The food at each of the El Pollo Loco locations is pretty much the same, but the experience you might have at each location can be quite different. This location is not the greatest, but it's not the worst either. They do have some outdoor tables for dining, which is nice, but there is no drive thru. The inside is rather simple. It's not large inside but also not too small either. The restaurant is out at the edge of an outdoor mall along with lots of other stores, so there is plenty of parking. read more

Unreal...I ordered an 8 piece meal for mobile pick up $35.55 which I paid. I got home and discovered I had only received 6 pieces one of which appeared to be a piece of the back and neck. I called d5 times and no one picked up. So frustrating that someone packed the meal knowing it was short of pieces and included a back piece and we would be home by the time we noticed. The restaurant is the only one in Ventura city proper and most people like myself drive 20 minutes to get. To go back now and get the 3 pieces is truly unfair with my time and effort. While the food is for the better part okay for fast food I have to give it a 1 star due to the down grade in service. Please note it's gone digital so you have to struggle to order. The kiosk does not give you prices. Seniors and disabled individuals beware no one to help you. EBT users must go to cash register to order but good luck getting the overly busy workers to help you .want to use that nice discount coupon good luck figuring it out on the kiosk. Bottom lines looks like less employees to pay, prices not coming down and more money in the pockets of the corporate owners. How many chances do I give this place? This time around, I have to leave a 1 star review. Waited in line for almost 7 minutes. There was only 1 person in front of me at the counter. I ordered my food. Waited about 10 to 12 minutes, then proceeded to the counter to see what the hold up was, because I saw several people receive their food that came in after me. Come to find out, they had given my order to someone else. It took them another 5 to 6 minutes to get my order ready. They had the bag sealed...I asked if everything was there, and the clueless employee said he double checked it. I got home, and guess what? There was no gravy. Double chicken salad had little chicken and what was in there was like they used all the scraps, VERY DRY and burned. So maddening. The people are not friendly. No taste to the food and it was cold. The Original "El Pollo Loco" (in the US) opened near the Intersection of Alvarado & 6th Street in L.A. It's still there. Parking makes you bite your nails. Across the street is a "Ross." Fortunately for us, the Pollo Loco's around the Oxnard, Port Hueneme area provide plenty of parking. Overall, I like El Pollo Loco for several reasons. One being the NAME. Another is, their "Fixin's' are doggone fresh. Their Salsas are delicious- just hot enough to tingle your maufph & tantalize your buds. When Originally opened in L.A., the menu was simple. Basically, you could get a half a Pollo or a whole one and with it came tortillas and a cup of salsa. However, progress can't be halted and since being acquired by its current owners, The Menu has been expanded quite nicely. I give them Four Stars on account that leaves room for improvements, of which, one, I'd like to see them implement: To me- they over roast the chicken. It's tasty but dry inside. Additionally, I think their chickens are the smallest they can find. Several times I got a leg that was as big as my thumb. I'M SERIOUS! ... and I told them so. The One on Saviers Road (Oxnard). I have always loved the chicken of El Pollo Loco. I have even marinated my chicken at home using their recipe online. I usually come here when I want chicken in the house and I do not want to cook. This review is for their meals, their app, their location, salsas, and service. #1. Meals & Salsas - We love their chicken (as stated above). The tortillas are fresh, and I love the pinto beans. Hubby wants refried pinto beans. I do not think this is an option. We love the salsas. #2. The App & Service - An employee told me that I was getting $5 off, if I downloaded the app. She made a mistake. The other employee told the manager and the manager came by and shrugged and said No. That is incorrect. Sorry about that. I said I wouldn't have downloaded the app, had she not have said that. He shrugged and apologized again. (Yikes.) #3. Location - Convenient.... however... I think that the parking space nearest the restaurant is highly confusing. It says Fire Personnel Only or For Fires Only. That's along the curb. When you head into the space it looks like every other space. It is often occupied by non-fire personnel. I think they should make the space more defining. Last note. This place can get busy. I recommend phoning in your order in advance. read more
