Not a fan of fast food but had a hot dog craving!! Great location near the beach in the Pierpont area... not bad! Good option!

So disappointed. I ordered the fruit loop dipped cone, and noticed when the guy handed it to me it was falling off the cone. I asked him if he could remake it since I was driving and couldn't deal with leaving it in a cup, and having it melt. He replied I never get complaints about my ice cream. Then said he could remake it smaller so it wouldn't do that, but why would I want less than the norm. It immediately melted and fell apart within 2 mins. I didn't see him wearing a name tag, and when I went back for my receipt that he forgot to hand me when I asked for it the first time, I see he was logged into someone named Sandra's numbers/register. The customer service was lacking, and the quality of the ice cream was subpar. read more

This is a super nice Schnitz! They just did a paint job so don't have the faded yellow and red paint. Have two TVs that were playing football games inside. I'm part of the wiener lovers club so get a free chili dog during my birthday and one during my WIENERVERSARY. They have a bathroom around back that needs a code. 2316. The other bathroom is broken and a majority of the numbers ripped off the keypad. Also have a soda fountain and an amazing staff. I think it is unique that they are right next to the freeway and across the 101 is the Scientology center. I wonder if Tom Cruise has ever been to that center. Okay who am I to think that I was too good for Wienerschnitzel. Circumstances drove me to do this place for breakfast today and I was pleasantly surprised. We ate in and I had the Chili Breakfast Burrito, tater tots , and coffee. The manager provided me a sample of their breakfast gravy which is only served at a few of the W establishments. Made with Jimmy Dean sausage it was white and peppery as it should be! (I lived in Nashville for 20+ years.) it was not as thick as many prefer but for me it was awesome. The Chili cheese burrito is primarily a thin egg omelette with chili tucked into a flour burrito. Not heavy but hearty and supposedly under 400 calories! Perfect black coffee. I ordered 2 beef kraut dogs, and asked easy on the mustard. Well apparently they didn't listen and loaded me up with mustard. And to boot they charged me $12 for 2 hotdogs. My ex-wife and I were in the mood for German cuisine, so we were excited to find Wienerschnitzel located just off of the 101 freeway in Ventura. A delightful meal, but not without issues. Where to begin? The maitre'd was nowhere to be found, the wine list nonexistent, the proprietor failed to introduce him or herself, and not one of the employees noting our arrival offered us an apéritif after we were forced to seat ourselves. And the fact that everyone wore the same uniform made it impossible to tell precisely who was in charge of the dining area. Most surprisingly, we were asked to pick up our own food near the kitchen after our names were shrilly shouted in no particular direction from the cashier's station into the cold, cavernous dining space. All was forgiven, however, once the wonderful Teutonic meals were retrieved by me on a kitschy plastic tray. I ordered the bratwurst on a freshly steamed bun topped with yellow mustard and grilled onions. The sweet, mild onions were grilled to perfection and provided great texture, while the mustard incorporated a surprising zing that perfectly complemented the smokey bratwurst - all washed down with an elegant cucumber tea. The delicious bratwurst transported me to my childhood vacations in Cologne, Germany, where I often enjoyed bratwurst prepared by artisanal sausage vendors selling their wares during warm summer days along the Rhine river while geese frolicked in the roiling river waters under the shadowy gaze of imposing medieval stone-hewn castles. My ex-wife had two bowls of meatballs and a large black coffee. When we asked to see the dessert cart, one of the employees pointed to the backlit menu board where we found the most wonderful desserts. I had a chocolate-dipped soft serve cone, and my wife and I shared a classic banana split topped with chocolate syrup, strawberry and pineapple topping, no whipped cream, and a cherry. It is rare that I would give a fast food restaurant 5 stars, but this Wienerschnitzel location completely deserved it. I ordered through the mobile app and my order was ready when I arrived through the drive-thru. Each item was absolutely perfect. Usually there are not enough onions, too much or too little mustard, but not this order! I ordered a chili cheese dog with onions, a kraut dog, a mustard dog with onions and fries. Decided to try this place out because the McDonalds across the street was mobbed. All I wanted was an ice cream, and it turns out they have ice cream treats here that are really good and which are much better than anything I've seen at the other fast food chains. I had the candy sundae with M&M's which was really quite good. I can't speak for the hot dogs and other sandwich items. The place is nothing fancy and the bathroom is outside, but if all you want is an ice cream, definitely give it a try. read more

Happy to see they serve burgers/cheeseburgers for those not looking for a hot dog and almost tried their mini corn dogs. In the end just got hotdogs with the husband and we both liked what we got. Yes I'm giving Der Wienerschnitzel a 5 star rating. I'm the first to admit it's not Lucky's or Maestros but it's tops as far as this sort of fast food establishment goes. I had a delicious all beef hot dog there the other day and I have to say it was wonderful. I chose the all-beef dog with mustard relish and onion. It was cooked perfectly and the bun was fresh and delicious. The staff is very nice also. This and Dog Haus in L.A. are my 2 favorite hot dog restaurants. read more

Wow... I grew up going here and I think today made it my last time. I cant believe how rudely I was treated. I went threw the drive threw and the girl in the windows name was Ariana. She ignored me when I asked her questions. I asked her because I wanted chili fries but didn't want them soggy because had a while to get home to eat if I can get the chili on the side and she said so an order of fries and a side of chili... ok I said. Then I get to the window pay and my kids and I wanted to add a drink last minute. So I said oh can I... while looking at me closes the window. I yelled oh hun one more thing and waved. She walked off. Clearly seeing me. Then walked out to the car behind me a couple minutes later and I said oh I don't think you heard me but I'm sure you seen me I need to add a drink. With attitude tells me well I have someone talking in my ear... got my drink then the food came. we'll attached is the "side of chili" I got with my LARGE order of fries. I mean it's halfway filled as well. I asked the girl who handed me food if that was the side I was given and charged for and she said yes... I'm shocked. I don't know why I keep going to this Wienerschitzel in Ventura, the food is always a miss. We ordered a chili cheeseburger, a Texas BBQ dog with a pretzel bun, and an order of 12 mini corn dogs. The mini corn dogs were cold, the chili cheese burger was okay, (nothing amazing for nearly $5), and the pretzel bun on the Texas BBQ dog was hard as a rock.
