They are both delicious, if you're doing low carb get the salad over the tostada, but if I'm not watching carbs I go for the tostada! The food is cooked very well, the chicken is very juicy, well seasoned. The sides are also good. If you go and sit after ordering they'll actually bring you your food. The set up is your usual fast food joint set up so nothing fancy. If you haven't tried it I suggest that you do. I've never had a problem with this El Pollo Loco before. We came in to order our food. There were more employees than customers inside. When we walked in someone said I'll be right with you. We patiently waited while others were being helped. When those customers had left we went to the cash register to order, but no one was there to help us the employees where either prepping food or cooking. After waiting for almost 10 minutes with no one helping us or acknowledging us I told my husband we should just leave. He said wait I'll try and get someone. He got someone to come over. She couldn't take our order, but asked someone to come over. The person started to walk toward us when the other employee said they are Deaf. The one coming toward us then turned around and walked in the opposite direction. So we left. A little education to the unhelpful employees of El Pollo Loco - whether a customer comes in Deaf or not they should still be treated as customers and not invisible. My order was without cheese or tortillas, my order only. They didn't give my husband any either. The cashier 'upgraded' my order for 30 cents more because it gave me a larger cup for my WATER. Their are only three of us and like I said the pieces were very small and the tortillas were flavorless, the corn was the best part of the meal. However, you can live off corn. These guys are a grilled chicken spot. It's good chicken and they have some amazing salads. I went with some chicken and a quesadilla with avocado and guacamole. The chicken was good but not good enough to pull me away from another chain. The service is good and the servers engage you the moment you walk in. The store is a little dirty apart from that it has a good look and feel. Your meal does come with two sides. I chose mac and cheese which was your typical fair and rice. It was good but nothing special. However they do have a delightful salsa bar with guacamole salsa and pico and several other sauces for your enjoyment. read more

My husband and I are both love the grilled chicken and this place is the place that we usually stop by and pick up the 8 pieces legs and thighs to bring home and enjoy. The reason that I gave 4 stars instead 5 stars is the consistency to cook the chicken is on and off (Sometime the meat is too dry or too salt, sometime is not). Love the drive thru option. It's so convenient just stop by and pick up the food within 5-10min max. I admit, I use to love El Polo Loco, but our experience has scared us away not just from this location but from the brand. As you are looking for places to support during COVID, please for your safety, look for places that you know are following COVID regulations. And while this was only one location it does not appear that this chain has the same level of concern of other eating establishments. Unprofessional behavior makes me question food safety. Ordered food through the Ap for curbside pick up. Got to the location, called and waited. 20 minutes after appointed time called again to get an update. To our surprise, staff yelled, cursed, and hung up on us. When we called back they refused to answer the phone. At that point, I looked at my boyfriend and said-uhm I don't think it's safe to eat the food. He agreed and went up to the doors to ask to cancel the order and get a refund. But, the doors were locked-and they wouldn't answer the phone so we waited When they finally came out (without a mask) with our food-about 5 minutes later he refused the order and asked for a refund. They refused and told us to call corporate. We called back on Monday to talk to a manager-but, there was no Manager on duty (according to the staff, no manager on Sunday or Monday). we asked for the General manager's Name and Number and was told they can not share that information but they would have them call us. Of course no call back. We generally tried to resolve the issues without going public-but El Polo Loco is not interested in doing so. read more

It was our first time ordering so we ordered online, it said it would be ready at 6:56 and I pulled up at 6:57 and I saw them putting the salsa in the bag and they were all set! The cashier very friendly showed us each item in our order, the guy (isai) who was doing our salsa super friendly !! Honestly it was so nice to talk to them. The food was good definitely liked it. A suggestion for the website is when it says "mixed" chicken just put a description that it's a variety of chicken parts. Color me impressed! I decided to try Pollo Loco after the initial rush that inevitably happens when a new restaurant opens. Glad I did, because it was delicious! I had the 3 piece breast and wing meal with mash/gravy and corn. The chicken tasted super fresh, with a nice marinade on the skin that was flavorful without being overpowering. The mash and gravy were fast food mash and gravy--I knew I wasn't getting made-from-scratch, and they were fine for what they were. The corn was a pleasant surprise--very buttery with bits of red pepper and some Mexican spice that really hit the spot. I was especially pleased with the service. I went through the drive-in and the cashier, who also took my order, was pleasant and friendly. One star off for a minor nitpick--my fruit punch had too much syrup and was too strong to enjoy.
