I've passed this restaurant for years, and for the first time I actually drove up to it and was surprised to find out it's not just a chicken place, but a Greek place as well. So my family and I came in. I got a chicken gyro and my wife got a plate with chicken kebabs. Overall, the gyro was just so so. It wasn't bad by any means, it was just pretty average. My wife thought the chicken kebabs were a 10/10, but I'd say they were just okay as well. The aesthetic inside is certainly interesting. It's not sure what it what's to be. There are very colorful tables like what you'd find at a Mexican restaurant, mixed with more modern sleek tables. Then there are random scenery oil paintings on the walls and tv's with soccer games playing. It's worth checking out for sure, and I'd be willing to come back to try some other items read more

That's right, instead of factoring the price to do business into the cost of product, they charge an additional fee to use your card. I don't know how else to even begin to start to sing this place its praises, but I will try. I have NEVER and I mean NEVER had a Gyro so tasty in my life (and I have to try them everywhere they have them on the menu). The meat is tender and flavorful with hints of lamb and beef interlocked in a dance of pallet pleasing, endorphin rushing, ecstasy. The saltiness of the meat is met with the freshness and crispness of the red ripe tomato slices. The picked-from-garden tasting lettuce is ridiculously cool and a perfect crunch to add the medley of textures partying in your mouth with each bite. The pillow soft pita bread is warm on the tongue and makes for a perfect platform to host this flavor tidal wave. The rice.... do not even get me started... whatever that magical red fairy dust is on top of your heaping mountain of golden goodness, it itself is worthy of an award. Absolute perfection. Disappointing. This used to be one of my favorite spots to eat, but that has changed since COVID. Got the combo plate and the beef was tough and charred. The chicken was charred as well. The gyro was over done and the rice was mushy. It seems as though the rice had been sitting in the to go container that it came in for quite some time. The tzatziki sauce was straight yogurt and there are now only three pieces of gyro bread. The salad dressing was also not as flavorful as it has been in the past. Since one of my favorite sushi restaurant across the street was closed transitioning from lunch to dinner, I decided to check this place out. And boy was I glad I did. I read good reviews for this place, and I would have to agree with everyone. I wasnt sure what to order so the person in the counter recommended the chicken and rib combo plate. Man...it was good! If I could give 0 stars, I would. I never had issues with this place, it's one of the places I LIKED most. I usually called and the owner already knew me by my voice. Last week my mom ordered takeout and found a black widow spider in the bag her food came in. Today when I called, the girl who takes the orders sounds like she hates her job. She was nice but I wouldn't wanna talk to her if I didn't have to. Then, I proceeded to order two chicken breast meals, picked it up and drove all the way home to Daybreak. I sat down ready to eat, and not only did I not get my chicken breast but the bread they put in my meal had MOLD on it. MOLD!! This placewas pretty good i have to say, They give you very large portions, the prices are fair and the half chicken i got was VERY good, i was in the mood for a BBQ chicken and though i didnt anticipate it, this thicken checked off the bill perfectly, very nice smokey BBQ flavor, and really flavorful rub. I got the combo with the chicken and ribs, and though, as mentioned, the chicken was awesome the ribs were very "typocal boiled buffet" quality. The BBQ sauce was nothing special, the ribs were just a little too mushy, and the flavor overal was just a bit bland. The rice that came on the plate was also very good, and the gyro combo my wafe got was descent, though she didnt care much for the meat flavor. They have a really really cool rotisserie oven in the front of the store, i only wish it was rinning while we were there to see it in action. Though as it is a wood burning deal, it looks like it would probably be a lot of work to run, so suppose its not practical to run it all day. I really probably would have given it more of a 3.5 star deal (i wish Yelp did that) but for them i aired on the side of a round up because the service was also very good, and the order taker whom i think was the owner was very nice. I will for sure stop by here again, and would moderately recommend it to anyone in the area, though there are some really good places down there these days. read more

Best kebabs! So much food, the chicken kebabs are better than the steak. Steak is a little overcooked. Really great pork ribs too!

Food is excellent, but clearly neither cooked nor prepared on-site, but evidently done on State and trucked over. So, how good it is will depend on how close you got to the arrival of that truck. It definitely won't be a bad, but it's a notable step off from the State Street location. Pita is still the best in the valley and the rice as awesome as ever, but holding containers just don't ever do food justice and the awesome power of the State Street location doesn't quite translate here on an equal basis. This location is just as great as the one in south salt lake. Their food is always delicious and the people who work there are super kind! I recommend the dolmathes plate. They make them vegetarian. Their service is awful! We have gave them 3 strikes, and they are out! They refuse to give an item that they are fully capable of making because they cleaned the grill....two and a half hours before closing! The employees are rude and yell at you from behind the counter if your order is ready. The last strike is when they messed up on a to go order, when we went to take it back at 8:27pm the doors were locked and would not acknowledge that we were at the door knocking. Really enjoyed my lunch here. I used to work on the other side of town and several co-workers at at the state street location, but I never ate there. When I saw this location open I figured I should try it, and am very glad I did. I had a half chicken and a rib. The rib was nice, not Pat's BBQ but very meaty, large and moist. The chicken was very good for me. It had a lemony marinade and smokey flavor that really hit the spot. Who doesn't like a gyro? I know I really like gyros and this place dose them right. Fresh and deliciously seasoned meat and the sauce is spot on. But don't leave without trying one or two kabobs. They are also delicious. The meat is cooked over a fire spit and it is awesome. It is tender and juicy. Deliciously season and cook to perfection. The rice, salads and pita breads are all also very good. But do yourself a solid and make sure no matter what you order throw on a kabob! read more
