The food is good. But I would give a negative score if I could. They act like you are a thief when you try and use a coupon or rewards. No joke every time I have placed an order through the drive-thru they ask you to repeat yourself several times and forget something if not multiple things on your order and then when you say something they act like you are the bad guy. Nelly the Manager is so rude and unprofessional I do not know how she still has a job. I was not able to eat the tostada I ordered tonight, no salad dressing and I asked for no pico and asked for salsa instead but that was not in the bag either. I'm very disappointed in this location. There customer service has gotten worse everyday. About 3 weeks ago I went through the drive through waited in line for a bit once I placed my order they said sorry we have no chicken. I'm like wait...Isn't this pollo loco were the business is sailing chicken??? They said it would take about 30-45 min to have more chicken ready. I thought well they should have a posting outside communicating that with customers instead of having them wait in line. Then again this Tuesday I went to this same location and tried to place an order inside. I waited for the person to take my order and waited and waited some more for someone to even acknowledge that there was a line of people there to place an order ...out of the 6 people that we're there working no one was taking orders. So finally I said is any one of you taking any customers order?? One heavy set Hispanic guy said and I quote " It wouldn't make any sense for me to take your order since I have 20 orders in front of you, You can wait til I'm done then I can take your order if you want". I was like wow how unprofessional to just be so rude and tell a customer that. If he would of said I'm sorry we are pretty busy right now we have a few orders In Front of you it might take a bit please bear with us. That would of been acceptable but this guy was straight out rude! I know companies are in need of staffing but come one Pollo Loco people you hire have a reflect on your business. I just ate the Double Chicken Tostada Salad, and it was delicious! I eat a lot, and I thought I would still be hungry afterwards, but I can't even finish it. Ordered double chicken tostada salad, but it only had less than 3 cubes of chicken. I've had the double chicken and regular chicken tostadas and know what they're supposed to be like - they both have lots more than less than 3 cubes of chicken. When I came back to report the problem they were not surprised in the least to see me and seemed to already know about the problem and ready with a pile of chicken for those who come back. I did not trust them at this point and left. They did not apologize or acknowledge any problem just that they had some mystery pile of meat to dump for the unfortunate customers that come back. Employees do not put some of an ingredient on a meal and then stop. They will put the full amount because they want happy customers so they keep they're job. The only reason an employee would put incomplete ingredients like this is if the management team has told them to cut corners on purpose. There seemed to be a manager guy who was avoiding customers and meddling at the other employees workstations. The other employees seemed to be afraid and/or kissing up to him. He hugged one of the female employees - she seemed visibly uncomfortable with it which made me very uncomfortable, also. The cashier guy wearing glasses, Jasson C, seemed to be doing the work of 4 or 5 people taking orders and going out of his way to help the people who still had not received their orders from the other employees, wiping down tables, fixing the drink machine area - he gets 10 out 10 for going above and beyond. read more

After what feels like the never ending week, we wanted something quick and filling. We ordered the family meal 8 piece and for it being opening week we got a free large side. Authentic Mexican YUCK! I went thru the drive-thru and told the disembodied voice that I was new and that this was my first visit to El Pollo Loco. The first response was an exclamation of, "Oh no"! I asked for suggestions and the only suggestion he was willing to provide was the most expensive thing on the menu, too obvious pal. I made my selections and informed the person of my additional choices, such as choice of salad dressing. I drove to the window, was handed my drinks and my bag of lunch and off I went. I was very excited and looking forward to lunch today. I've heard lots of good things about El Pollo Loco. I drove to the nearest park, completely ready for my lunch. Now, my friends, have you ever opened up a package and just stared in horror at what your eyes have just met? That is exactly what happened to me. In the bag I found half filled bowl of salad, no dressing, an emaciated 'last-chicken-in-the-shop' breast of chicken and tiny cup of mashed broccoli. Welcome to my lunch. No way to eat any of this other than with my fingers and no napkin to clean up with after I've eaten this "meal" with my fingers. I can't tell you how disgusted and disappointed I am I El Pollo Loco. I sincerely hope the manager of that store reads this. Not only do I feel like I was I mistreated but I feel like my lunch was mistreated and I feel like I paid to eat someone's garbage No thank you. This place is pretty bad. I haven't been to any other location other than this one and if they are anything like this one, I'm glad I didn't waste my money. When we first got in, a girl was helping a customer before us and was talking very cheerfully but when it came to me, she looked at me with a very angry look on her face and didn't welcome me or acknowledge me. (Other than the look) Which was very odd and unprofessional. I got a tostada and a horchata drink. The drink tasted watered down, the dressing for the tostada was bland and tasted like it too, was thinned out. Then the salad looked like it was an old coleslaw mix from the walmart next door that had been opened a few days ago. The beans and rice were bland, and the floor and tables were pretty gross. The food was absolutely delicious. We went there late one night as a family. The food was good, however we all ate fast to get out of there. It was too cold! The air was freezing. I'm sure that they like it cooler because of the heat of the kitchen. We were not the only ones that were cold, I saw that other patrons that were huddled up trying to stay warm as well. It's a new place, and we had free coupons to check them out before they officially opened. Since this place is literally a 2 minute walk from my house, I was somewhat excited to have a chicken place to rely on. Our coupons allowed us two meals that cost up to 10 dollars. So both my wife and I maxed out those coupons and got the half chicken meal that cam with two sides. We asked for the order to go, but they handed us the meal on a platter to stay. I checked the receipt and it said "To Go" on it, so not my error. But no big deal, first day errors. I got macaroni and cheese and broccoli for my sides. My wife got black beans and broccoli. The mac and cheese was cheesy, but not very flavorful. The broccoli was fine. The black beans sort of tasted like they came out of a can. The chicken was totally fine, nothing gross nor fantastic. Just good ol' edible chicken, which brings me to the cost. Since the chicken wasn't some blast of flavor that sent my mouth into orgasm, I have to compare it to other available chicken, and as far as I'm concerned I could go right next door to WalMart, pay $5.99 for an ENTIRE rotisserie chicken, and pick up the same sides from their prepared foods section for an additional $5 and feed both my wife the same meal for $9 less. So I guess overall it's an average experience. read more

When they get it right, they do a good job. However the constant change of the menu where the shrimp tostadas are constantly removed is ridiculous. They always forget how to put things in your bag through the drive through whether it is the cilantro, the salsa they started charging for for the smallest scoop of salsa or even a fork! How is that even possible? Then I ordered chicken last night and it was completely burnt.
