This place is a gem of American Mexican food. It's clearly a local favorite, and for good reason. The service is quick and cheerful, the menu is large and varied, the dishes we had were extremely tasty, and the prices are outstanding. My husband had the seafood salad, which arrived with an astonishing amount of seafood, especially at the price. I had the chicken nachos, also very generous with the chicken. I was in the area working and my coworker suggested this place for lunch. Service was fast and food came out quickly, even with a busy lunch time. I got the fajita burrito with steak. Really solid--probably the best Mexican Food within a few towns' radius. Pollo Bandito was great, chicken was grilled properly, great beans & rice, and the salsa picosa (available by request) was fantastic. I eat a lot of Mexican Food while on the road for work, and this seems like the place you want to visit if you're in the area. Excellent on all levels. Staff was really friendly, everyone was smiling. Seemed very at home with all the customers. Queso was great. Chips good (light, a smidge greasy, warm). Chicken enchiladas were very good as were the chicken chimichangas. As good as we have had anywhere in a while. And the rice was solid, the beans REALLY GOOD. Comfortable place but simple. Stopped in while headed to the lake and they earned my five stars and their average of 4.5 is well deserved. We googled "best Mexican food in Clinton MO" and this was the top result. Read the reviews and popped in for chicken flautas and chicken fajitas. We were seated immediately by a very friendly person and before we even looked at the menu we had delicious chips and salsa. We ordered and we're eating a short time later. My husband ordered and loved the flautas. The fajitas were exactly what I hoped for and I'm looking forward to having the left overs for dinner later this week. We have three Mexican Restaurants in Clinton. The other two are decent, but our choice is El Puerto. They have very good choices and the food is delicious. We like the taco salad and the corona shrimp tacos. They make good margaritas, especially the Blue. My wife likes the sangria margarita. I haven't tried the mango yet, but it looks good.
