For the best, authentic Mexican food around, come to El Ranchero. Everything on the menu is delicious. The prices are reasonable. The service sometimes suffers a little if they are unusually busy, but that is to be expected. My favorite menu item is the chile relleno plate while my wife loves fajitas. We know what really good Mexican food is because we have friends who are Hispanic and for twenty five+ years we lived near the Mexico/ US border. read more

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Longview The staff is very polite, friendly, and not overly attentive, just right! The drinks are delish!! And they serve you what you pay for, they are not skimpy on their drinks(; The food is fantastic! I always get the Pollo Fundido it's my fav!! But I have tried many other dishes here and they were all good! My man and I agree that they have the best prices, For food and drinks! They are not overly priced. Stopped here on the way home from Portland one evening. I'd been really craving enchiladas en crema, so I was thrilled to see it on the menu. My husband ordered their carne asada. We were both incredibly happy with our food. The crema sauce on my enchiladas was creamy and cheesy. The asada was cooked perfectly with the right amount of char. It's hard to say what my favorite dish is here everything is amazing except the shrimp tacos I didn't like those at all. The drinks are tasty the bacon wrapped shrimp and mole is so bomb . I love the soups here too which is really saying something because I hate soup I don't make myself. The staff is full of very attractive young women and they are extremely pleasant and always smiling so it's hard not to feel really welcome and happy to be there I love this place. read more

I have been craving Mexican food since I moved to Longview last summer. My real estate told me the name of the best Mexican restaurant in town...but I cannot remember! But I drive by El Rancho frequently since I live close by....so tonight I decided to try it and am happy I did! Place was clean, wait staff was nice, and food was very good! I had the chicken enchiladas with a beef taco. (Sorry, no pic!) The plate was huuuge, with plenty of food. TheMexican food was WAY better than most! Also had a wonderful draft Pacifico. I normally love el ranchero and go there a lot, but on this Saturday night, June 4th i was very displeased. I was a single diner and ordered the single chicken fajitas. The chicken was dry and the veggies overcooked. It tasted burnt. Not only that the service was terrible. No one even stopped at my table to ask how everything was. I was there for at least an hour. I normally tip at least 20%, but couldn't bring myself to tip at all. It seemed all the workers were intent on servicing the larger parties where they would get a good sized tip. My advice is not to go there in a Saturday night as a single diner. They will just ignore you. read more

Was disappointed on our last visit regarding service. Food quality, prices, and portions were still amazing and they are still our favourite Mexican place in the area (hell in the Pacific Northwest thus far), but on a Saturday afternoon where we were the only patrons in there, our service was very spotty. The two usual gentlemen were working, but one of them must have left as it appeared the remaining lad was totally on his own. Should not have been a big deal as we were the only customers there, but he was MIA most of the time and wasn't attentive at all.. Our orders took forever, as did refills, and requests for chips, napkins, etc. I even had to locate our check after 10 minutes of asking him for it. He was back in the kitchen slowly chopping veggies. In his own little universe. We expect more from them, and since we had first time guests with us, it was making our raves about the place seem disingenuous. Hopefully, it was just an off day. On my way home from Astoria and stopped in for a late lunch. The house salsa was good, unfortunately everything went down hill after that. The "taquitos" were more of a small fried burrito and were pretty average. Guacamole, beans and rice pretty average. Nothing terribly wrong, just not great. Went here with a customer for lunch. This was pretty typical Mexican fare. The requisite chips and salsa before the meal were quite good - the salsa was on the piquant side. Kitchen was a tad slow, however the food came out hot and tasted good. My initial urge was to write "pretty good for Longview", but honestly it's pretty good without any further qualifiers needed. I chose Ranchero for my birthday dinner, it was take out due to the quarantine. My food was delicious! I had chicken fajitas, my husband had the steak fajitas. It was enough food for plenty of leftovers. I've had Mexican food all over the northwest and in Mexico on vacation... food here rated among the top 10%. Highly recommended. read more

I have eaten there 3 times since management changed and all 3 times was disappointed. Seems they are trying to turn this place into every other franchise Mexican restaurant at the expense of the exceptional food they used to serve. The food was good. Our waitress was good but the Manager was rude! Our order was per him "a system error" whatever that means. Waited almost an hour for our food while others who arrived after us received there's. We requested a break in our bill. He advised couldn't do that but would give is each a free drink. When we asked for our free drink, he advised that since we didn't ask for them right away - it was too late. Will never visit that place again read more
