    Chicken super nacho
    Grace S.

We ordered the super nacho and added chicken. It was very good and had a good amount of toppings. I would say it's a little on the pricier side, the nacho was $20 and wasn't as big as I would've expected for the price. Service was good!

We went to El Ranchero for lunch. It's a beautiful, colorful restaurant. My husband had a black margarita and really enjoyed it. Their chips weren't the freshest, but they were still tasty. The pollo fundido was so delicious. My husband said the camerones a la diabla was tied with his other favorite in quality. The service was good. We didn't get offered or asked if he wanted another drink, but it was ok since we were nearly done eating.

First off, everyone from the hostess to the owner were very friendly and attentive. Plenty of food options and everything we ordered was delicious. The owner Ruben, is a really good guy and showed me the bar he was putting in. The bar will look pretty cool once it's all done. Restaurant was clean and updated. You can't go wrong eating here.

I was going to give 5 stars but then I remembered the chips and salsa. And the refill clause! Waiter was awesome! Called us "mis amigas" and was patient with my indecisive bestie. Once we did order food came out super quick. Chips weren't warm. Salsa wasn't spicy. My chili Verde however was warm, flavorful, and tender! Best chili Verde I've ever had! I was a happy girl! Bought the bestie dessert cuz her birthday was earlier that week. It smelled and looked really good. You only get one free refill on your soda. So now you know. Lol I feel like this place was kind of expensive. I paid $36 at lunch time for 2 entrees and a dessert. We both had waters. But my food was so worth it! Highly recommend this place if you're in the area!

El Ranchero, located in Longview, WA, is a long ways from Mexico, but offers authentic Mexican cuisine.

Longview, Washington is located over 1200 miles north of Tijuana, Mexico. Yes, that's a very LONG 2-day drive, or a 3-hour flight from Mexico, on a good flying day. But if you're looking for a taste of Mexico, all you have to do is to cross the Columbia River, and visit the pretty town of Longview, where you'll be pleased to enjoy fine cuisine at El Ranchero, located in Longview, Washington, and you'll satisfy your taste for fine Mexican cuisine. After driving 632 miles from Roseville, CA to Longview, Washington, I was hungry, and ready for a great Mexican dinner. I checked into a motel in downtown Longview, and noticed that El Ranchero was located only a few blocks away, within easy walking distance, so I could enjoy a cold beer and not have to worry about driving. It's about 1800 in the afternoon of Wednesday, August 16, 2017, and I have the whole restaurant to myself. As you enter the restaurant, you'll find the counter, and a half-filled Coca Cola cooler. The sign says "Please Wait to be Seated," but on this Wednesday afternoon I was the only customer, so I just sat myself down, as my host arrived. The first page of the menu features combination dishes, which I pretty much zeroed in on. Everything looked good, but I decided to go with a #1, as that always seems like a great place to start when you're visiting a new restaurant. I really wasn't all that hungry, but for only a dollar more, I felt a "Large Combination" dinner was in order. After placing my order, it arrived in less than 15 minutes, delivered by Martín, my friendly server. He and I had quite an opportunity to chit-chat, as neither he nor the restaurant was busy. He told me that he'd never seen a Wednesday evening as slow as tonight, but he didn't have a problem with it, as it gave him a chance to relax, and catch up on things. Shortly after my meal arrived, another customer walked in... I chose the #1 from the "Combinations" menu, which, besides the standard rice and beans - included with all combinations - which netted me one enchilada and two tacos. For the tacos, I just chose ground beef for the filling, as at the moment it sounded good, but I was a tad more adventurous with the enchilada, as I went with picadillo, as I hadn't had that in a long time. Such a delicious dinner! My dinner was simply amazing, as it arrived from the kitchen, cooked perfectly, hot and juicy, ready to enjoy. This Mexican dinner was a good as any combination dinner that I've enjoyed in California, or for that matter, in Tijuana. The good folks at El Ranchero Restaurant really know how to dish up great Mexican food! Frankly, I was pleasantly surprised for finding this gem-of-a-Mexican restaurant north of the Columbia River. The food is delicious, it's very much like the food you'd enjoy in a mainstream Tijuana restaurant, and the service is wonderful. El Ranchero Restaurant, in Longview, is a sure-bet for delicious Mexican cuisine. Great Mexican food, and five stars in every way....

This is now my favorite Mexican restaurant in town. Carne asada is outstanding and portions very generous.

Good, friendly service, but in a bad area of town and the food is just average. Classic "institutional" fluorescent lighting.

Had really good reviews so we gave it a shot, tacos are one of my favorite things in the world so had to try it. Very happy we did! We just got some carne asada tacos and a Jamaica Agua Fresca to sit down and eat. SO glad we ate them there while they came fresh out the kitchen. I'm sure they would still be good to go as take out, but eating them there was definitely a great choice. The meat was flavorful and tender, the salsa was delicious, but the tortillas tho!! So good! They tasted freshly made ( I don't know if they actually are freshly made.. they gave me that impression, but I'm no professional ) They were nice and warm and a little toasty so they had softness but also a little crunch to them on certain spots. Everything was fresh and so tasty. Service was also good, everyone was so kind and the food came out much quicker than we expected! The place overall was really clean, nicely decorated, and loved the vibe with all the bright colors and roll up doors. We would definitely come back again and recommend it to anyone who wants some yummy food.

We were greeted upon our arrival and asked if we were dining in. We were then directed to sit where we'd like. We were slow at ordering and the waitress was patient with us. We ended up ordering the chips and salsa (up-charge), I had a cheese enchilada plate and Mr. wonderful had the pork chimichanga with rice and beans. The food was good, the flavors were there. I particularly liked the decanted red salsa, it was stellar. Service was a little inconsistent as we waited for quite a while to request to-go boxes and our check. We finally approached the counter and requested said items.

Joined one of the local lunch ladies group for a Happy Hour trying of foods & beverages…read more The interior is comfortable with lots of seating options: booths & tables of various sizes. There are lots of TV screens for various viewing options. We seemed to have arrived at a time of less wait staff, as we had only one server until nearing the end of our gathering when another assisted. Granted, how much advance notice was relayed to the restaurant of our groups plans is unknown, so please consider giving them as much advance notice as possible of group dining, I'm sure they'll appreciate it. Just a FYI: the lunch menu ends at 3pm when Happy Hour begins & followed by, but of course, the dinner menu. As for my food: I ordered the Baja fish tacos of which was cod & I chose grilled with corn tortillas & a side of beans & rice. My food did come fairly quickly, where as not so for others in the group, of which one of the last items that was brought out for the lady I sat next to was a Cesar side salad with ranch dressing Logically thinking, I would've thought to be something brought out first Each one of my tacos were served on one of the small street size corn tortillas. I immediately pondered that, but tried eating one anyway & just as I thought, it immediately fell apart. I quit eating my tacos & asked the server for regular size corn tortillas, which did come out fairly quickly. Unknown to me at that time, I should've also asked for more lime slices, as the 2 on my plate were dry & did not release any juice. The pieces of cod were small but tasty: appx 2" wide x 3" long. The toppings were good: a fresh avocado slice, a little slaw & a drizzle of sour cream. Had they been served on standard size corn tortillas to begin with tho, they wouldn't have become deconstructed. The beans & rice were standard, which I commonly put a lot of salsa on. I asked 3x for more salsa to no avail, so finally one of the other ladies passed her unused dish of salsa to me. My neighbor lady wasn't eating her salad & asked for a to go box for it. I was curious as to why- she said the ranch salad dressing did not taste good & encouraged me to try a little from the serving cup: it had an after taste that made me question it's freshness. Some of the other dishes served looked good as well as the Happy hour beverages & a dessert or 2 ordered. Overall it was a good visit & I would like to try this restaurant again in the future.
