the front of it looked kinda sketchy. you can't see inside the restaurant. i watched other people go in then we decided to eat here. we got the lunch special Puffy Taco then we split a flan. the food here was DELICIOUS!!! the cheese sauce on the puffy taco was amazing. we didn't get anything spicy on ours. flan for desert was good. the only thing i didn't like was that there were no plantains here!

When a bunch of white people come to eat here you know the food is good. This was my 2nd time here and my food was really good. They have tons of sitting for large family like ours. I love how they have different size margarita. I had a small one my sister in law had a medium size and so did my aunt. Guacamole was delish and so was the Queso was so we're staff. My waiter was on it. I can't remember what everyone had but no one complained and believe me most my clan have no problem pitching a fit. They serve Pepsi products which is my husband favorite. My carne asada with tortilla and guacamole was really good. Especially my tortilla you can tell it hand made.

Always delicious, thank you for the great service and hospitality El Ranchito

Fajita taco salad - Steak, with no added dairy items

We come here fairly often as it is one of the most decent Mexican food restaurants in the area. The salsa is good, but it's not super consistent. Which is fine with me. Sometimes, it's pretty mild. Our last visit, it was super spicy. I like either! Last visit, Husband had the chimichanga meal (chicken, I believe). It's what he gets every time and he always enjoys it. Kid got the single taco (beef and cheese for that kid) with rice and beans. Always a hit. I had the fajita taco salad (steak, with no dairy-cheese, sour cream, etc). That doesn't leave much left to be included but they filled it up! And it was tasty! We usually end up spending around $40 for the three of us. Service is always fast and friendly. It's always easy to find a seat during the times we usually go. It's just a little hole in the wall type place but we've always enjoyed it as it really is one of the better Mexican food restaurants in the area.

    Ground beef burrito

My wife works down the street and we love this place for lunch but we feel as if we got ripped off for takeout dinner tonight. So sad to see this burrito cost us $16. Granted we did ask for onions and some avocado pieces, but $16 for this whole thing? Money goes farther elsewhere.

Lunch portion of beef burrito and enchilada, just delicious and looked very appetizing!!

Thanks, Yelp! When I was hungry after antiquing, you led me here. Nice work!…read more I'm not overly familiar with the Lakeland dining scene (I probably owe it to myself to change that), so needed help satisfying my constant craving for Mexican. The Yelpiverse offered several options. The many mentions of kind service drew me here. And indeed, Yelp was right on. Alex was amazing. He was so friendly and helpful-never made me feel rushed. That was just the thing I needed, after a long work week. So, Tapatio's is on Memorial, not far from Lakeland High School. It's a cute, golden yellow building with several beautiful flower planters and crepe myrtle trees out front. It's eye-catching and yes, there's a big private parking lot. Inside, it's big but cozy. There are two separate dining areas: one up front, facing Memorial. The other is along the side. I was seated in the front area. It's colorful, comfy and homey. There's a wholesome vibe here that makes me wonder if this a family operation. I felt very welcomed. And I absolutely loved the complimentary chips and salsa. The fresh, light chips were served warm and came with two salsas: regular-and a side of spicy, that you can mix in with the regular to your ideal heat level. The menu is large... and it took me a long time to decide. Alex was so patient. I had a margarita, which wasn't too sweet (yay). I also ordered a small side of queso blanco dip and a side of flour tortillas. Frankly, I was stuffed after that, but I didn't want to miss out on anything-so I ordered the lunch "pick two" and went with two tacos: one hard taco with beef and one soft taco with chicken. It came with one side-I went with rice. What a great value for money this was: a huge helping for $11.95! The tacos were stuffed full of meat, that was cooked well. I really enjoyed all the little extra touches here, the attention to detail. There was a paper doily under the cheese dip cup, on the little plate. I liked the engraved logo on the wooden salt and paper shakers on each table and all of the wall art and decor objects. You can tell the owners/staff care about the business and the customers. I wish them all good things and huge success.
