Found this spot close to our stay, came in just before closing on a Thursday night. We were quickly seated and greeted by the host. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was super cute and very festive.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Everyone at their tables were happy and enjoying themselves.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Servers came in quick for drink orders but we needed time to look at the massive menu. It was a bit overwhelming with so many options even non traditional sushi! We ordered two kids plates, crispy chicken and fries and the grilled chicken and rice. We also had the "Alambre El Jardinero" and the "Molcajete". One child complained that he did not like the crispy chicken at all and ended up sharing the grilled chicken. The kids grilled chicken was such a huge portion and both kids loved it. The other plates were good and tasty. This restaurant is a safe, not outstanding choice. On the positive sides - wait help is very nice (a guy not even assigned to our table brought us a chip refill), [[HIGHLIGHT]]the restaurant is clean, new and nicely decorated[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], and the menu has plenty of options. One issue we had was that they deemphasize or maybe don't even show many (any?) a la carte items under $10 - the bottom price and entree size is a plain quesadilla. So you won't get out of here feeling like it was a great value and you can't really build your own plate here as you can at most Mexican places. The food that comes out is actually impeccable on one hand - my burrito and my wife's quesadilla were sizable portions, with hot, fresh ingredients and really attractive and yummy presentations. The one way they fall short is that everything is a bit bland and understated. The chip salsa was like Rotel (just hot, not much flavor), the carnitas didn't have a stewed vegetal flavor - more like just roast pork. Also our food came out pretty slow - we probably waited 20 min and there were few people in the restaurant at the time. If I eat at a Mexican restaurant I just want the chef to know more about spices, etc than me. However, it was all high quality. read more

Never again. We were there before 5, not very crowded and plenty of staff but no one seemed to know what to do. Our waiter was terrible and mostly invisible. Screwed up our drink order (2 waters, 2 teas), served us burnt chips (that were replaced when our food arrived), my dinner wasn't served until after everyone else (3) had finished eating. I've been here about 6-7 times. I've really enjoyed the food. I love margaritas too. My issue is with what Margarita you order and what margarita you actually get. Like most places like this, the tequila brands they use are so poor, they are hard to find in liquor stores. I ordered the skinny Margarita, which states "tequila, freshly squeezed lime, fresh orange juice, organic agave nectar and grand marnier". It also says "Top shelf" No tequila or alcohol was 'top shelf'. The DID not use Grand Marnier as I watched the bartender make my drink from start to finish. When he handed it to me with the dump flags and frilly crap hanging out of it, I asked him about the grand marnier. He said you want a shot? I said no, and I pointed to the menu and he poured a shot of it and added it to my drink. All I'm saying is if you are going to order anything more than the crap house Margaritas that they use that garbage "mix" you buy at the grocery store mixed with bottom of the bucket tequila, then order at the bar and make sure you get what you order. I believe they are taking advantage of people. It's not the first place I've seen that does this. read more

This is a regular in our restaurant rotation. The food is awesome and the service is excellent! I'm vegetarian. They have about 12 or so vegetarian options. If I wanted, I could make some of the meat centered entrees into vegetarian ones. The free salsa & chips are delicious. Their queso is yummy. There's a lot of fun happening here! Great food too! Upon walking through the door, we felt welcome. We were able to be seated quickly and chips, salsa, utensils and menus were brought to the table. Highly recommend the guacamole casero. So good! Very fresh! For our meal we split the parillada for 2. The meat and vegetables were cooked well.....the meat was tender and veggies grilled perfectly. The seasoning was good too. All of their desserts looked delicious! We split a piece of tres leches cake. Definitely big enough for 2 to split. Get the 20 ounce margarita! Delicious and fun! It was bubbling when it arrived at the table. The staff is very helpful and friendly. We had menu questions and our server was able to answer all of them. I was disappointed. We ordered enchiladas (green salsa), alambre, and two kids quesadillas. The enchiladas barely had any sauce on top, the beans looked weird and they barely gave us rice. You couldn't taste the tomatillo sauce from the green salsa. The alambre was a lot of food. The bad news is that "Al pastor" did not taste anything like Al pastor. I was very disappointed. The kids quesadillas were $4 dollars each and it came with rice. I think I would rather have a kids meal than a $20 meal that doesn't taste like anything but salt. We will not be back. read more

They don't deserve 1 star. The day before a major surgery, I wanted a kids meal and cheese dip. I ordered online while sitting in the parking lot. I waited 10 minutes or so and went in to get my food. The (I guess) manager asked whet I ordered and went to the kitchen. He came back and said it wasn't there. I waited abt 25 minutes and asked in Spanish if they were gonna get my food. His reply was, "I told you it's already gone." He basically accused me of taking my order that was never given to anyone to begin with (I was in the parking lot when I placed the order and there were 0 pickups) He refused to have my food made until I cussed him out in Spanish telling him he lost a customer that ate there at least once a week over $10. That's when he asked again what I ordered and thought I was gonna wait another 45 minutes for my food. read more

The menu pictures looked awesome and lots of variety. I ordered off of the lunch menu and got steak fajitas. By far the worst fajitas I've had from a Mexican restaurant. It was just big hunks of steak not cut in slices like it typically is and was all connective tissue and fat. Completely destroyed my appetite. Venue: Alot of parking. It's located on the corner of a plaza. Inside is spacious, and has a Spanish vibe. You can bring family or a date or by yourself. They have a bar. All in all and nice place. Price: The cost of food was not bad at all. I did see a drink for 17.95 called the Cazuela, if you rich try it for me and let me know how it taste lol. There were normal priced drinks. We sit outside, and we are the only people outside. The menu is extensive, their margarita is great as American Margarita, husband said.
