Absolutely terrible experience. This was hands down the worst Cinco de Mayo restaurant experience I've ever had. The music from the bar was deafening, and as the volume increased, customers had to yell over it, making the entire restaurant unbearably loud and chaotic. It became impossible to have a normal conversation without shouting. The staff and waiters were also rude and dismissive. I politely asked if the music could be turned down because it was physically overwhelming and was basically told no. Customer comfort clearly was not a priority. Going out to dinner should be enjoyable, not stressful and headache-inducing. Between the noise, the rude service, and the overall atmosphere, this experience was beyond terrible. I haven't been to this location before it was nice and clean there menu is way bigger as far as selections go for food and drinks we had kind of a larger party last minute which luckily they were able to seat us service was good I felt bad for it waiter I think she felt a little overwhelmed with us but over all what I ordered wasn't bad I did think the corn would have more flavor my margarita was a little sitting but at least it was half price we almost hit the cut of time. Came here with a large group of co workers to celebrate one of their last days and my bday early. The staff was very helpful and prompt. I had a chamoy margarita which was very good and reasonably strong. I also had a shredded chicken taco salad which was good. Prices are a little high. They were nice enough to bring my co worker and I shots of tequila for the celebration. Chips and salsa were provided and they did not make us feel rushed which was nice. read more

The signage for the building faces the street and the building did not appear like a restaurant at first approaching it from the street. Inside was nice; the bathrooms were clean and had a modern vibe. The service was quick. The food was delicious but needed salt in my opinion. I ordered the three street tacos platter ($15.99) and I had the steak tacos and a bit of the chorizo so far; all were good. I also ordered carnitas and I'll finish that tomorrow. My boyfriend and friends got some margaritas, which looked good, and we also ordered queso, which was tasty. The restaurant will give you free chips and salsa, as well. I ate dinner there last Saturday night. Even though the restaurant was nearly empty the service was very slow. Our waiter wasn't friendly and didn't speak much English. It took forever to get the check and a carryout box for our leftovers. Our waiter never asked if we wanted dessert. I pointed out that the check said that we were to get a free dessert if he didn't ask if wanted a dessert. He refused to give us a free dessert. Visited for a weekday work lunch and they were very flexible in accommodating our large group which was great. The main dining room is nice, I appreciated the high ceilings and the large decorative fireplace. For my meal I ordered the lunch special #16 - Pollo Loco which was grilled chicken with onions, mushrooms, tomatoes and zucchini covered in cheese. The food came out hot and fresh, but I wish had a little more flavor. Most of the flavor was the cheese, I was hoping for some more spices. The service was pretty good with all food coming out at once and they were good at filling our waters quickly. Reviews looked good and in the mood for TexMex, our party of six stopped here early on a Tuesday evening. We were seated right away and brought fresh & hot tortilla chips and salsa. I asked for, and was brought, their hottest salsa, which had a nice bite. Drink orders taken and quickly brought. We also ordered some queso dip to share. About the time our chips ran out, our meals came. My wife ordered the Cheesesteak Burrito and loved it. My granddaughter had the La Bomba Enchilada, it looked fantastic and tested great. I had (my usual) combo of Taco, Enchilada & Chili Relleno. Last two were great, Taco a bit disappointing. Others loved their meals also. Everyone was full but of course my wife had to try the desserts. One huge bowl of ice cream with churros and another big plate of ice cream with chocolate churros. I asked them to hold the jalapeños and they added extra on the Carnitas. I told the server. They just scraped the peppers off the food. Because they left one pepper in the food and there was guacamole on the pork. I have asthma and spicy food could make me have an attack. But since I already complained once I tried to eat it. Also the pork was hard and dry. I really could not chew it. When paying I asked to speak to the manager. I explained everything and he just said sorry. El Rancho Grande take orders over the phone with accuracy, commits to a quick order ready duration and upon arrival for carry out, the order is actually ready (and accurate)! The food was hot and tasty when we got home, minimal difference to dining in. Went there for Happy Hour. They advertised 50% off certain appetizers. Even though the ad was on their Facebook post and in the January Clips magazine, we were told there were no food discounts at happy hour. Only on drinks! We've been there a couple times before and always had great service. On 12//9/2025 at around 4:00 the service was terrible and the guy at the bar argued there was no appetizer 50% off for happy hour even though it was listed on their Facebook page and also Clipps Magazine. Really unimpressed. Wednesday evening around 8, craving chips and salsa with friends after a nearby community meeting. Not a lot of folks in the restaurant so our lack of service didn't make sense. We had to track down our server three times. They entirely forgot to cook my kiddo's meal. We were done eating for 20+ minutes before we waved down our bill. Credit card system went down as we were leaving, adding an extra 15mins to our already 2 hour long ordeal. As for food, the chips and salsa were sadly lacking good flavor. My wife is a vegetarian and ordered the 3 enchiladas off the "a la carte" menu. She asked the waiter to substitute the meat for veggies. The waiter said it would be an up charge. Not sure why veggies would be an upcharge but we asked for the manager. He said the upcharge is due to "additional prep work". Really? Are the meat enchiladas pre-made that they don't require prep? Is meat cheaper than veggies?. We've been to many, many Mexican restaurants and this has never been an issue. The management/ownership at this location seems to be out of touch with the neighborhood as a good percentage of this area is vegetarian or vegan. Anyway, there are plenty of other options in the area so no need to go to this location again. Looking forward to this joint closing down and a decent restaurant taking over. A friend and I were attending an event in Mason and decided to go to dinner after. My friend was in the mood for Mexican, so after a Google search, we decided on this restaurant. Their air conditioning was not working...if there had been a sign that indicated this on the door, then we may have made the decision to dine somewhere else. We only made the discovery after we placed our order and I asked specifically why it was getting warmer by the minute. This was only the start of a not so good experience. The service was not good. We had to wait and and ask for everything. The restaurant wasn't very busy, and there appeared to be sufficient wait staff to be able to at least keep up with drinks. My friend and I seemed to be constantly flagging down someone all the way to the check. Finally to the food...we had to wait quite awhile on our food only to have mine wrong. I ordered a chimi-style steak burrito that comes with tomatillo salsa, instead I received chicken with no tomatillo salsa. They did replace it with steak, but still no tomatillo salsa. In my wait, I just kept eating chips and wasn't even hungry by the time my food arrived. I've been to many Mexican restaurants and this was by far my least favorite experience. read more

Figured we would stop in for some Cinco de Mayo festivities and grab a couple drinks in the bar area. While there were no specific Cinco de Mayo specials going on, Happy hour is advertised everyday until 6 PM and we arrived a bit before 5pm. We ordered drinks at the bar and asked for the happy hour specials. When the bill ultimately arrived, we were told, the beers we were served didn't get any happy hour pricing so we paid basically 3X the time the price ($10!) of others in the bar drinking a slightly smaller beer. In addition, no information that skinny margaritas were also 3X the price of the happy hour margarita. $17 for a slightly lower calorie version of the happy hour drink... ridiculous. We were also informed we couldn't order food at a table in the bar, area but yet everyone sitting at the actual bar was ordering food and getting it brought out by a food runner that could obviously have dropped food at our table as well (literally 5 ft from the bar). We left the restaurant, shaking our heads, wondering how we walked into Cinco de Mayo/happy hour festivities and left with $100 credit card charge for limited service, (no food), a few drinks and some tortilla chips. Totally felt like a bait and switch scam to the highest degree. Needless to say, we will never be back. read more

By far my favorite Mexican place in Cincinnati! They have the best cheese dip and salsa and you get a very generous portion for the price. I usually get the chicken enchiladas but recently tried the steak and shrimp fajitas and was amazing at how flavorful they were.
