I checked in to this location for a wedding and was very pleased! At first, when I arrived at night, I was very apprehensive due to the lighting in the area. When I woke up in the morning and met the staff and got started with my day I felt like I was in a dream! Everyone and everything around here is so nice! If your coming to oracle as a tourist like myself, this is one of the better hotels/ranches to stay at My friends that stayed around the area were in awe when visiting this location. It's so pretty and theirs so many tourist photo areas

It is a great place for hosting workshops. Reasonable rates. Wonderful food!!! Amazing grounds with lots of birds in the background. Mission architecture with covered verandas for relaxing in the shade. Trees with strategic benches--another way of relaxing in nature. It is also possible to stay in a room at ERR when there aren't workshops. Rooms are available with or without kitchens. There are paths on the property and beyond. If you like going off paths and aren't good at remembering your way back (like me), consider taking your phone for GPS. The building with no window is where blaring very loud music came from.

Not this place. I have never enjoyed such a wide variety of choices. Yes, I said choices. I could actually choose from different dishes at each meal and every lunch and dinner came with a GF/DF dessert option! In all my illustrious travels, this treatment is unprecedented. I feel spoiled when I come here. One night they even made homemade dairy free ice cream. Stay here and say goodbye to the old "I guess I'll just have salad all week since there's nothing else I can eat" syndrome. It's not all about the food either. The location is beautiful and secluded with plenty of hiking trails. Seriously incredible views of the desert/hills. The rooms are a bit rustic, but I enjoyed their quirkiness. It helped me to remember I was someplace special, someplace not to be taken for granted. I stayed in three different rooms over the years and each had its own bathroom, multiple beds, dresser, heater, and I think they had A/C (never used it). I was always comfortable and slept well. They also have a pool, jacuzzi and wonderful fire pit with benches around it. Cell reception is spotty (that's a plus in my book), but they provide wifi, so if you need to stay connected, you can. The staff is also really friendly and helpful. I'm not sure what else to say other than I'd recommend coming here. It isn't a fancy resort, but if you want to find a place where you can slow down and fall back in love with the world again, give C.O.D. a shot!

It was raining earlier in the day but they were able to keep the event happening on time. They had a buffet style dinner set up. They served pork meatballs for an appetizer which I could not try since I don't eat pork. I didn't see any water. It would have been cool if they had a lavender infused water option. They had earl grey tea (I can't have caffeine) and a delicious lavender wine spritzer. The wine spritzer was really weak though (alcohol content). They ran out of salad so we only got a couple bites. I wish they had made more. It looked really good with blueberries and strawberries. I wasn't really a fan of the main dish (pasta with chicken). The chicken was dried out and it wasn't warm by the time we got our food. The carrots were really good. We took pictures in the lavender farm and they turned out great. There were lots of bees in the lavender field but they didn't bother us. Expect porta potties and a short walk between the dinner tables and the lavender farm. They also had woman playing guitar for the dinner.

First off, the little bathroom/outhouse at the top of the path was ADORABLE! (Yes, it's an outhouse, but located in a shed and decorated very cute and it didn't smell bad and there was an outdoor faucet to wash your hands.) then you walk down a little path towards their gift shop/check in. The gentleman that checked us in was very very nice and friendly, then you walk down a bit farther and pick up your picnic basket. The picnic area was so cute ! that whole area would've been the perfect spot for a small wedding or outdoor high tea. There were some chunky lizards running around, beautiful butterflies and lots of songbirds. We loved it! My mom can't walk far and there were so many little places to sit along the trail as we headed toward the lavender fields so she didn't have a hard time getting up to the lavender. The only drawback was the hill to the animals she couldn't do and the parking lot was a little sketchy when we first pulled up - i felt it was hard to park and it was gravelly and hilly. But I took so many pictures of my mom that I will cherish long after she's gone. the lavender was just starting to bloom and it was stunning! Whoever decorated the little sitting areas throughout the place really knew what they were doing, because it was BEAUTIFUL! The picnic was fabulous, all the food delicious and I bought my mom a scone gift box to take home and she loved them! it was absolutely the PERFECT day! Thanks for the wonderful memories with my mom! We will be back next spring hopefully and now she wants to do a tea at the Manor in Tucson! I'll be researching that!

What a find! Historic cabins on an art ranch - so different from the usual sterile hotel…read moreenvironment, but with artistic and modern comfort! It's a unique way to fill your soul with the beauty of the high desert and uplifting art. It combines stand-alone cabins from another era with an adjacent outdoor sculpture park and art gallery - one of a kind accommodations with a one of a kind experience. We stayed in the bunkhouse and the cabin on our recent girls' trip. You might wonder if you made the right choice when you turn onto the dirt road to the ranch, but this is the true old west without paved roads. Funny how much your heart responds to leaving asphalt behind! I stayed in the original ranch bunkhouse built of adobe mud in the 1880's, restored now with modern comforts. The Old West vibe is still there but so is air conditioning, a comfy king-sized bed, small kitchen, and, of course, plumbing. Also present is the all-important WIFI. The bedside lamps even have USB ports to charge your phones while you sleep. It hits just the right balance of old, quaint, artistic and unobtrusively modern. There's a small couch, rocking chair, and large screened-in porch and more. I don't know how the original occupants kept it, but it was immaculate (this aspect earned high marks by us all). We were busy on this trip supporting our runner in an ultramarathon up nearby Mount Lemmon so we didn't get to enjoy all the many special touches as much as we wanted to such as the many outdoor cozy seating spots under trees. We also wish we'd had time to get to know my neighbors behind the bunkhouse - a couple of quiet but curious goats. Throughout our stay, we didn't hear them nor anyone else staying there. It was like having our own little getaway in the high desert. The Triangle L is also an Art Ranch. The Sculpture Park alone is not to be missed! It would be worth the trip in itself and made a big impression on us even though we did not have time to explore it all. Some sculptures even have special night lighting. You could spend hours here appreciating it as you walk along its path, which lends its own sculptures of uniquely-shaped, high desert cacti. If interested , we recommend checking out the web site for a preview and look for the many special events. They just opened up a "Metal" exhibit in the old adobe barn converted into an Art Gallery and Gift Shop. The Triangle L is located in Oracle - a small town that we found to be full of traditional small town friendliness from its unique restaurants to its shops selling their own art and jewelry pieces. We learned why the new looking Nonna Maria's has been in business for 25+ years - their marinara and pizza are outstanding. I had a great turkey and avocado croissant sandwich at the Patio Cafe and their adjacent Market sells all kinds of baked goods, including more types of pies than I've ever seen before. We enjoyed breakfast at Casa Rivera's but we ran out of time before we got to try the Riot Grill, which we'd also heard good things about. Most restaurants here are owner-operated so be sure to check their hours before going. Oracle is about 2 hours from Phoenix and only 1 hour from Tucson. It sits in the high desert so offers somewhat cooler weather than both of them. There are many nearby trails for hiking besides those our runner was doing in the Desert Peak Ultramarathon event, including those in Oracle State Park. There is also access to the Arizona National Scenic Trail (AZT). We met lots of cyclists as well. In between supporting our runner at the aid stations, I also made a trip to the nearby Biosphere 2. It is also worth a trip. It was created as a completely sealed off ecological system to test out what would be needed to build independent self-contained stations capable of life for future space colonization. In the 90's, 8 scientists were sealed in it along with various plants and animals for 2 years. Now, it functions as an ecological research station. The scope is amazing. For instance, I walked through its rainforest, complete with waterfall and tall tree canopy and even saw its small ocean. So much technology is needed to support it - we have much to learn before space life is possible. The tour is self-guided by well-done videos through an app but there are three additional guided tours. Note: there are some parts that can only be accessed by stairs. OK, I got a little carried away with this review of the Triangle L Ranch. The Triangle L Ranch and Art Ranch seems to be a well-kept secret that I just didn't want people to miss. It and the surrounding area really struck a chord with us. Also, our hostess (and resident artist) went above and beyond for us, accommodating our changing reservations and our late arrival with an inventive sign to help point us to our cabins. We certainly hope we get to meet her sometime as we definitely hope to come back - if it isn't booked for years in advance once the word gets out.
