Great food and service to match! We are from Texas, but own property in Churubusco. We were so…read moreexcited this past week to see tacos de asada (steak meat) and pastor (pork) wrapped in corn tortillas. The meat was juicy with just enough seasoning. The corn tortillas were not homemade, but they were fresh and had a nice rich corn flavor. Make sure to order your tacos with onion and cilantro. For some that are not used to this, you may want to stray away; but you will not regret it. Squeeze plenty of lime to draw out the flavor of the seasoning. My mouth is watering as I write this review. The red salsa has a nice spice and chili flavor to it and the green has a nice flavor of jalapeños with a more mild spice. My kids are usually picky, but they didn't complain about the rice, beans, burritos, and quesadillas. During my week here in Churubusco, I have had three different families ask me if I have tried the food yet. Each of them spoke highly of the portion sizes and the flavor. This place does not hold back on the servings. Your dollars will not be taken advantage of here. Lol I'm hoping that the restaurant will be officially opened when I come back and I hope there will be menudo, chilaquiles, homemade tortillas and breakfast burritos (chorizo con huevos/papas con huevos (hint hint...lol)!

Inside, the decor was on point, authentic feel with ceramic pots, handcrafted decorations, and little details on the walls that make it feel like Mexico. The staff was nice too. They don't waste time with small talk, but they're friendly, efficient, and the food came out surprisingly fast. I ordered two asada tacos and two cabeza tacos, and let me tell you... they were so good. They came out piping hot with grilled onions on the side, which was the perfect finishing touch. Both tacos were packed with meat. The asada was incredibly tender with those slightly crispy edges from the grill that added so much flavor. The cabeza was just as impressive. It was unbelievably soft and almost melted in your mouth. Add a little salsa, a bite of the grilled onions, and everything came together perfectly. The onions added just enough sweetness to balance the savory meat, making every bite even better. This is exactly the kind of taco spot I love finding. Definitely I'll be coming back.

I have 0 pictures, which speaks volumes to where my attention was. First, the stop work sign on the front door from the city. jajaja, perfecto!! Then all Latin patrons. Then the chrome apparatus they bring with bowls of sauces, nice. Hot, hotter, and prayers required for the last two. And finally, fresh squeezed juices, and tacos with several excellent, heavily loved and slow cooked meats and just the right toppings. (the lengua is impeccable) Nothing else. No chips. No quesadillas. No tequila. No nonsense. Don't go there, you'll ruin the ambiance for me.
