Salsa Grille is The Shiznat! Seriously. I wish there was one closer to home. Similar to the Mexican fast-casual, you do down the assembly line, starting with what type of food item you want (tacos, burrito, a bowl, salad, etc) and add your proteins and veggies and sauces and assorted toppings as you go down the line. You've been to these places before. One of the things that stand out for me is the variety of items available. Yes, they've got chicken and beef and barbacoa, but they also have chimichurri chicken, which is an absolute stand-out item. If you're unfamiliar with chimichurri, it's chicken that's typically sautéed with finely chopped parsley, minced garlic, olive oil, oregano and red wine vinegar. That leads to a very green colour, but the taste is (insert chef's kiss here). I typically get mine in bowl but vary the toppings over time. As you go down the line and add your toppings you're basically creating your own meal. At the end of the line you're handed your meal on a tray and each order comes with a small bag of freshly made chips and you can chose from any one of about ten different types of salsa. I've tried most of them, my favorite being the tomatillo because it tastes so fresh, but they're all made fresh in store and each has its own distinct flavor. We've been to this location a number of time and the service has always been awesome and the facility has been very clean. They do a great job of keeping the dining room clean. Salsa Grille has yet to recover from Covid practices regarding the Salsa Bar, but I get that. It saddens me, but I get it. Currently your salsa is kept in 2oz soufflé cups behind the line and you have to request it at the counter. I'm sure as we move further towards Covid recovery that the Salsa Bar will return. In a world of QDoba, Moe's, Chipotle, and Salsarita, I'd take Salsa Grille over all of them. If I had the means I'd bring a Salsa Grille franchise to Louisville. read more

Got a call from my stepson this afternoon..."I'm on my way to your part of town. Can I bring you and mom some lunch?" We couldn't pass on that and he stopped at Salsa Grill for steak, chicken and ground beef tacos. Our tacos came nicely packaged and stuffed with meat and topped with onion, cilantro, and cotija cheese. In every box was a small tub of spicy salsa and pieces of lime! I've been faithfully going to this location since it first opened years ago. I am just SHOCKED at the lower reviews. The food is FRESH....... full of amazing flavor......and made very quickly. Plus, the GUAC is included on most entrees unlike the other 'place'. The green chicken is out of this world.....I love it and it's so unique. You cannot find this at most Mexican restaurants. Don't ask for extra lettuce. Visited on a Monday for their special to give this place a try. I am doing Whole 30 so my options are limited. No rice, beans, chips, sour cream etc. So I asked for extra lettuce. When I got to the checkout I was told it was no longer a bowl since I got extra lettuce and it no longer qualified for the Monday special. I was told to pay the salad price or leave. So I left and drove down to Moe's where they had no problems giving me extra lettuce. I will not be back. read more

It's like Chipotle, if Chipotle was completely bland. Seriously disappointing. The salsa was flavorless and had no heat, the burritos lacked any flavor aside from the cilantro, and the chips were hard and stale. Tired of chipotle and looking for something fresh? Definitely stop in and give it a try. I've been coming here almost every Monday for their specials ($5.99?) which includes your choice of burrito or bowl + chips + a drink. I usually get the chicken. Very good, fast and fresh option in Fort Wayne! I stopped by for a quick lunch to-go for the family. It's the style of Chipotle or Qdoba, but better! They have a lot more options, including some delicious sauces (aka tomatillo ranch) and also queso fresco. They also have a HUGE salsa bar, with tons of options, like pineapple chipotle or creamy avocado. Everything was really good, including the chips and queso. It's simply Chipolte done with better ingredients, and everything here is fresh and very tasty. I have been to all of the Baja Fresh clones all over the country, and this is by far the best. Traveling through Ft. Wayne And I was looking for an exit to jump off and eat, on my way back to indy. Just happened upon this at exit 302 off I-69 South. Wow, is it delicious. I had three corn tortillas tacos with chicken and shredded cheese, mild salsa, onion, guacamole on the side and picked out more salsa from salsa bar. There food quality and flavor is so much better than Moe's, or other similar places. For instance the chicken was leaner and flavored nicely. I have ate here a few times. It is similar to a Moe's. It is attached to Salud Tapas N Tequila. They have a large salsa bar to pick from and a Pepsi brand dispenser that you can add flavors to your drink, which is similar to the ones you see from the Coke brand. The food here is good. read more

Ok, so I've been to salsa grille, and it's fine. But I can't even begin to understand the reviews that say it's better than Chipotle. It's not. It's not better than Qdoba. It may be on par with Moe's in terms of taste/flavor, but that's not saying a lot. Don't get me wrong, I didn't hate it. The two star review goes like this: the Stars have a sliding scale in my mind. Fast casual restaurants have a handicap of 1 stars, which means the best they can do is 4 stars. Likewise, fast food is handicapped by 2 stars for a max of 3. This place is ok. Not great, but ok. I won't be running here weekly, or even monthly. But give it a try - you may have a different experience. read more

The environment is clean and has lots of seating availability. Sometimes if they are busy over the lunch hour extended seating is offered at Salud! next door. If you are looking for a good day to get a deal stop in on Monday. They have burrito or bowl specials which includes chips and a drink. My favorite is the tacos - they use fresh, warm corn tortillas (or flour if you prefer) heating them over the grill right as you order them. Then I load them up with usually one chicken and one steak. They offer a variety of fresh cilantro, onions, tomatoes, lettuce, etc. I LOVE the guacamole which tops it off. I've been a regular at the Coldwater and Broadway locations, but this new spot is a great new option out southwest. I eat here for two reason: locally owned and fresh food. The staff at all locations are not the most personable, and even when it's not busy you feel rushed. I've been curious about this restaurant for quite some time and finally worked up the nerve to go inside and try it. My excitement soon turned to disappointment when I tasted the food. The chips were not salted and reminded me of something I would get from the skating rink as a child. The guacamole was more like succotash. It was made up of chunks of tomato and onion with a tiny bit of slimy avocado mixed in. The tacos were bland and flavorless. Even my elderly mother thought they were bland and she doesn't like flavor. Lol. The only redeeming factor was that the restaurant was spacious, mostly clean, and the employees were very nice and helpful. I have been going to Salsa Grille almost every Monday since they opened. My friend and I were there Monday as normal and he asked for the lettuce be put on the bottom of his burrito bowl. Their response was we cannot do that. He asked again for the lettuce to be on the bottom of the bowl. Again we cannot do that. After we sat down, I went to the manager and spoke with him. He explained if the lettuce is on the bottom, it becomes a salad. Ridiculous! I told him we would not be back, he said that was my choice and turned his back on me and left.
