I had a very nice stay at the El Rey Court in Santa Fe. It is centrally located and if you have a car you can drive to most of the tourist spots in Santa Fe within 10 minutes. They have taken an older Rt. 66 style motel and updated it all the while keeping the charm remenicent of another age. I love that they have kept the feel by keeping the older trees and plantings. It added to the charm. Our room was basic but clean and the bedding was good and comfortable. We enjoyed the pool and it was also charming and clean. They have a food truck set up in the courtyard where you can pick up coffe and a breakfast. You are also within walking distance of another great breakfast place, The Pantry. The bar is also quite nice and lively with live music. Parking was a tiny bit problematic so do not expect that you will be parking right in front of your room. All in all, it was a good stay and I would definitely stay there again.

I never stayed at La Fonda on the plaza while Robert Downy Jr., stayed during Oppenheimer film shoot. Santa Fe has been more popular after Oppenheimer motion picture released. Constructions are everywhere and seems like a lot of artists moving in. Though, this town is expensive and not even has chain stores. ( Don't worry, it won't turn like Austin, TX, so much traffic and congested.) Everywhere you turn, boutique and original craft presented. And yes, recent renewal of " Dark Winds" TV shows set here in Santa Fe & Teseque Pubeblo. I found this boutique hotel & I m in love. The essence of American Southwest and perfectly different from others. The breakfast at Turquoise trailer is amaze. As a lone traveler, I need to know local folks. If you re looking for a local folks to chitchat, this is the place to be. A bit upscale youths showed up. I've been invited by female DJ friend later the night which I checked in. What a decent quality of life and smell the roses !If you wake up and want to grab a cup of coffee, drive down to Madrid, NM which is 30 minute away from El Rey Court. Don't forget to wear your bolo tie. I bet, you'd love the town, Madrid. After all, this is American SouthWest.

Staying here was a dream! Beautifully restored adobe bungalows outfitted in style. My suite had 2 bedrooms, a living room, and its own patio. Mini fridge, TV, and toiletries, but no hairdryer. Room was a little dark but added to the mood. The property is well kept. Lobby has a seating area with fireplace and adjacent bar. Complimentary coffee in the lobby, plus coffee packets in the rooms. Dedicated parking. The pool was closed for the season. I'd love to return!

This Hotel was amazing I can't wait to stay here again. Was just in town for a few days and stayed at El Rey and its an older hotel that's been remodeled and absolutely just loved it. My room even had a fire place in it. They had a live band that played on Sunday night it was amazing and the drinks at the bar were amazing as well. I will definitely be back here.

Are the El Ray Court and El Ray Inn the same place. It looks like they have the same address? We stayed at El Ray Inn about 6 years ago. Should we stay there this summer 2020?

I made a special trip to Santa Fe from Denver just to get a gander at this one. This is the original. As I said in a separate review, Denver's convergence station is the largest at 90K square feet. But it felt more sprawling and convoluted than the smaller Texas and NM venues. I haven't seen the supermarket themed Vegas venue. This is smaller than Denver, but more coherent. Still a lot to touch and do and see. Weird things to connect. And again, if you've seen other Meow Wolfs, you'll understand all others better. In true Meow Wolf style, brilliant, bright, jubilant art that you can lay your hands all over. Stair cases to climb. Tunnels to crawl through. Someone else compared it to a colorful real life board game, and that tracks. It was busy, but not uncomfortably crowded. Like Denver, you can grab a drink at the bar and sip booze as you stroll. There are puzzles to solve here (I confess, I didn't have the fortitude or patience, but you can spend all day here solving riddles). You can go again and again and find new things every time. I am positive I am not even close to scratching the surface of any of the Meow Wolf experiences. If you want a bit more of an idea of how things work, Meow Wolf has an instagram!

It's true there is limited parking, but good information, carpooling, and walk ability made it a non-issue for our guests. The venue has a magic you can't create other places and is more cost-controllable than a hotel! I truly appreciated how Pilar and Karen answered every question, asked some we hadn't thought about, and made all of our other wedding vendors' jobs easier! The venue can work indoors (with a smaller guest list) and outdoors. It naturally separates space for the service, the meal, and dancing. There is a designated bar area and protected place for the DJ equipment. Our party guests ranged from 18 to 80 and everyone found a comfortable place to enjoy the event. We didn't need exceptional or elaborate decoration to have a beautiful event. Our wedding attendance was under 70 -- if you have more, there are a couple of considerations to be aware of, but Pilar is very transparent about the additional considerations.

The venue and grounds are gorgeous with just enough space for an intimate event, and lots of nooks and crannies for great photos. I'm so glad we were lucky enough to find Neptune Gallery, and Pilar to help our wedding turn out perfect. We originally planned our reception at another location that fell through (blessing in disguise) and we booked with Pilar at Neptune, sight unseen as we're from out of state. Throughout the process Pilar was amazing and helped set our mind at ease as we worked to plan things out, even directly coordinating with our caterer to make sure everything was just right, opening up the day before so we could see it in person before the big day, and putting our last decorations in place while we got ready. Do yourself a favor and book your next event here, you'll be glad you did.

The indoor and outdoor lounge areas are thoughtfully designed with local decor, which really adds to the ambiance. The front desk staff was friendly, and check-in was quick and easy. House came around daily providing fresh linens and cleaned the room. We booked especially looking forward to breakfast based on prior reviews, but it ended up being a bit disappointing. The only protein options the first morning were undercooked bacon and yogurt, and the strawberries were very acidic. The second morning did include breakfast burritos, but they weren't labeled and were in limited supply, so we chose to go out for breakfast instead. There were some fun elements, like karaoke and live music, which added to the experience. However, Saturday night there was a party that went on until a little after midnight. It could be heard throughout the property despite the stated quiet hours of 10 p.m. to 7 a.m., and we weren't notified in advance. The event was also open to people outside the motel, which led to many non-guests parking in the main lot, which is limited, and hotel guests having to use overflow parking. Overall, it's a lovely and unique place to stay, but it didn't fully meet expectations particularly with breakfast and guest-focused amenities. I'd recommend prioritizing parking for motel guests and setting clearer expectations around events so guest can plan ahead.

It was a last-minute decision so we were looking for a hotel that was pet friendly and reasonably priced. After reading the Reddit forums everyone said stay away from Albuquerque and any hotel that is near the freeway there. Well, shit, every single hotel is on the freeway. ...And that ladies and gentlemen is how we landed in Santa Fe. After reading the reviews in Santa Fe, we decided to stay at the Mystic because it sounded safe and breakfast was included. Also, the pet fee was fairly reasonable at $25 for the stay and $30 for a one time cleaning. Upon driving onto the property, you are met with paved gravel, ample parking, and rooms accessible only through the gate. What's cute about this motel (and most motels) is that you can drive up and park in front of your hotel room. This was no different. The standard room is tiny, but for 2 travelers met all of our needs. King size bed, bath and shower, mini fridge, and cable. The bed itself was comfy, but the pillows could really use a bit of an upgrade. It felt like a bunch of cotton balls, all in a pillowcase, and it was very difficult to sleep on. For the price of the hotel when we saw the continental breakfast, we were stunned! Bacon, seasoned potatoes, yogurt, oatmeal, fresh fruit, waffles, coffee, and juice. Incredible! They have an event venue in the back, which I've read hosts live music. If you're looking for a quick, overnight stay that is reasonably priced, this would be it. The remodel that was done is super cute and matches the theme of the hotel name.

The security guard who I wish I could remember his name as he was such a gem, let me know that he will park my truck for me. He had a fabulous Texan accent and he was just the nicest man. He said go on inside and check in and when you come back out, I will park your truck for you. The woman who greeted me inside was so lovely. She said I am so glad you are here! You are our last guest to arrive and I will get you all checked in. It felt like we were in a different time almost, it was so cozy and quaint. Our hotel room itself was perfect. We had two beds and they were so comfortable and the linens were fabulous. The wall hangings and paintings were gorgeous. The bathroom was adorable and had pretty New Mexican tile. Even the carpets and rugs were beautiful. They do have a restaurant and room service. They have a complementary breakfast cooked to order which is something I have never seen before. Unfortunately we were so tired the next day we missed the breakfast, but we will definitely book another stay in this hotel. The reception area is beautiful and has lovely couches and sitting areas. The paperwork in the rooms is extremely thorough and will tell you everything you need to know, from room service to if you have difficulty parking your car to nearby restaurants and sightseeing. I did not read all of the paperwork when I first got to the hotel and in the morning I called for coffee to be delivered to my room. I later saw that coffee is actually set out for guests in the reception area so the woman who brought me the coffee really only did it out of kindness. So I found this place And in that week between Christmas and New Year's we still wanted to catch the Christmas lights and farolitos And if you too are about location, location, location This was perfect If you've ever had to drive to Santa Fe, you know that parking can be a bear -- and it was, with a lot of the main streets blocked off in anticipation of NYE celebrations. The hotel is actually quite a large, sprawling complex, much deeper that what might be assumed when pulling in. We got there mid-afternoon so could park rt in front of our first floor room. I hadn't even thought about that but my creaky knees were happy and quite relieved to only hv to haul my wee bag up 7 steps or so. Check in was easy, if a bit crowded, as a lot of regulars like to show up a bit early too. The doorman was a very polite young man and everyone made us feel welcome. The older gentleman at the counter was a font of information And made sure we knew abt the Happy Hour Short and sweet Whatever you do: try the biscochitos! (The official NM state cookie, fyi - for a reason - when done right, and these definitely are!) Everything was very clean Even with all the Christmas decorations and greenery out There's an excellent restaurant on site And when they say there's "a bit of a kick", and shd you be a wuss like me, order the spicy on the side. Staff was very considerate abt this. And breakfast is pretty good too! And it was so easy to walk to everything, stuff I usually don't get to see bc I'm usually on the other side of town.
