If you're looking for authentic, flavor-packed Mexican comfort food, Jalisco's is a must-visit!…read more The Chicken Tortilla Soup is hands-down some of the best I've had. It's loaded with huge chunks of squash, bell peppers, onions, and fresh avocado. They definitely don't skimp on the chicken or the rice, making it incredibly filling. I also tried the Birria Taco Plate and it was phenomenal. The meat was tender and plentiful, and they give you all the right fixings--onions, cilantro, lime, and even roasted jalapeños to give it that perfect kick. Great portions, fresh ingredients, and total satisfaction. I'll definitely be back for more!

Absolutely heavenly. Extraordinarily well grilled steak and pork!! Ignore the bad reviews and taste…read morethe perfection. Mouthwatering fish tacos with fresh slaw and delicious crema. The asada and pastor tacos were amazing - stuffed with perfectly seasoned meat from end to end. I ordered for pickup and it was ready in five minutes, ready at the front and the host was waiting for me with a smile. Such a friendly and professional staff. Bright and welcoming interior. Easy to access location right off the interstate. The red salsa is less hot than the green, which I'd say is medium. I ordered this through DoorDash and I loved that they had Mexican Coke! Real Mexican Coke with the labels, as you can see in my picture. I will order from here again and again. I was astonished that the reviews were so awful for this location - until I read them. I served for 3 years in college and every restaurant deserves a fair and honest review of their food, hospitality, and ambiance - the kitchen staff and front of house are working hard!! This restaurant should honestly have 4.7 stars or 4.8 - at bare minimum! I hope there is a process where previous reviews can be counterbalanced against the excellent experience I've had here. Every restaurant gets busy or has an off night. That's just how the industry works. But the meal I took home today was affordable, unbelievably delicious, and entirely unexpected. Not a restaurant that is any stranger to exceptional Mexican flavors - and one that I can imagine is incredibly consistent and well attended, despite the poorly devised assessments here. A local delight!!

Service is super friendly and the menu is so much fun - so many different options - both breakfast and lunch/dinner. This is one of those places that makes you just love Austin. I want to go back and try so many different things. The breakfast items I had were all fantastic! Migas, pancakes, tacos etc. I both recommend Mi Ranchito to local friends as well as will absolutely take my friends and family that visit to. Def on my Austin faves list!

Very loud inside, a bit hard to hear even at the register…read more They hand you a menu and then you pass by the register to order and then have a seat. We eventually moved outside where it was much quieter but humid. We ordered a mole enchilada plate and a flauta plate. When they brought our food and asked about napkins, silverware, condiments, etc., and then we were told oh you have to get up and go back inside and get them yourselves. This was after we had left a tip at the register. So, be sure before you sit down you get your silverware napkins and condiments. No one pointed that out as we checked out and paid and left a tip. The lady at the register seemed very friendly, but she had to ask someone to substitute french fries for my refried beans and they seemed very reluctant to do so. Not sure why I told him it's OK just put the beans on it, but they finally relented and gave me fries instead of refried beans.. I have to say my mole enchiladas were barely above room temperature. The flavor was OK but nothing else standing. The fries also had that kind of frozen flavor like they've been in the freezer for a long time before being cooked. The flautas were pretty good, but again nothing outstanding. Overall, I would say we had an average lunch. It was nice to try somewhere new but I'm not sure. I would drive out the way to go back.
