Chimichanga lunch special and queso birria taco
    Cecilia T.

If you're looking for your traditional Tex Mex, chips and salsa kind of restaurant, go to el Rocio. I'm lucky enough to work down the street, and this is one of my favorite lunch spots. Service is quick and friendly, the portions are good for the price, and the food is delicious. Someone complained about how loud the music is but I enjoy how much fun the servers have singing and dancing to the music. The guacamole is a must. Really light in flavor but so good. It's hard sharing with other people. They have lunch specials, mostly for $10 or less. My go to is the chicken chimichanga for $9.25. Comes with rice and beans and a little "salad" (lettuce tomato sour cream and guac). Super filling and so damn good (even as leftovers). The fish tacos are also good. They take a good bit to cook but worth the wait because they're crispy. These aren't deep fried but rather pan seared until they get a nice crust. The lunch special comes with three tacos and no rice and beans. I also tried the queso birria taco this most recent visit. It costs right under $5 which is average cost for those types of tacos. The beef was really tender and juicy. They don't completely load it down with cheese which i appreciate. It doesn't come with any of the sauce but there's plenty of flavor without it. When entrees come out, they'll bring two bottles of salsa, one salsa verde (kind of spicy) and a dark red salsa (maybe arbol chilis?). Both are great additions to your food but not necessary. Always enjoy coming here.

Authentic Mexican in downtown East Point. Downside is only about 10 parking spaces so either pay to park (about $7) or find a space risking a tow in another parking plaza and walk a block. Only indoor seating. Good food and drinks. No frills, but good traditional Mexican with traditional drinks we all enjoy.

LUNCH HOUR!!!! I come here every other weekend with my nephew to enjoy the birria tacos because they only have them on certain days. The drinks are great, the service is excellent, and the food is amazing. Not to mention, the prices are remarkable for this day and age.

3 tamales with a double order of rice.

First lets talk about location. Right by the east point Marta station. I had previously read their menu before visiting. I was interested because they had tamales. So I opted for 3 tamales, rice and beans. I asked for a double order of rice,no beans. This meal ( 3 tamales meal) option isnt on their current menu, you have to ask for it. I saw this option available on a google review of the place. Your gonna be walking into the typical mexican resteraunt with mariachi music in the background. The service was fast. The food arrival did seem to take a bit longer that i found unusual. However i was in no rush ,so i didnt mind. The tamales were great. They came wrapped in corn husk. However i wouldn't have minded them out of the husk covered in chili. The rice that accompied them was quite tastee. Chips and salsa was good as well. Their prices seemed reasonable as well. I saw other things on the menu witch made me consider a return visit.

This review is based off one item. My daughter was shopping at another store next door and stopped in here for some tacos. Some quick food. While she was there she noticed they had Pumpkin Bread. She knows I love anything Pumpkin. The lady working there said they made it fresh that day. She wasn't lying either. The bread was so moist and delicious. Perfect blend of spices and again it was super moist. I wish my daughter had purchased two but now we know where to go. We support East Point local businesses as much as possible and will continue to do so.

Such an awesome place!! Chile relleno is a must and the shrimp fajitas are excellent!! The only thing keeping it from five stars and the chips! They are not my favorite but the salsa selection is great! The mango margaritas are great!

Taco and enchilada combo platter, Patron Margaritas, queso blanco... sooooooo very good!!

I'm from Houston and this place makes me feel like I'm back home. Great authentic Mexican food, the margaritas are AMAZING!! The service is ALWAYS on point and swift, the staff is very attentive and friendly. They remember you when you come back. Been going here for 3 years now and never have I been disappointed. 20/10

    Chicken fajitas

Delicious authentic Mexican food! I was driving down Main Street and had to whip a u-turn when I saw this restaurant. Being from LA, you know how to spot a good Mexican restaurant when you see one! When you walk in you are greeted with music that you can't help but dance to. Once seated, a large basket of chips and house made salsa is placed on your table. So good! I ate so many I was almost too full for the main course. The waitress recommended their burritos and fajitas. I went with their chicken fajitas and it did not disappoint. It came out on a sizzling platter and was seasoned to perfection. I will definitely be back! Did I mention their $3 margarita happy hour!?

2 tripa/1 language Really fresh tortillas, I was really impressed.

Great food, really fresh ingredients and really fresh tortillas. I highly recommend this place for either authentic Mexican and for your Tex-mex needs.

The tacos were mediocre and my drink must have been a virgin because I didn't taste any alcohol. The waitress only took my order, brought the food and returned later with the check. She never came back to the table to check on us or to offer anything else. When I went up to the bar to pay my bill, I was charged $25.90 and I left a $4.10 tip since she didn't do much. July 2nd, I checked my account and seen that I was charged $71.90 instead of $30!!!! I called up there immediately to discuss the matter. I was told that it would be best to come back and bring the receipt. I returned on July 8th and asked for the manager. I was told there was no-one there to speak with me. Well I explained to the waitress what the issue was, showed her a copy of my receipt that I scanned in using Fetch and my bank statement. She went to the back to show the manager (who I was told wasn't there). She came back and said that I needed the original receipt . I asked her to see the signed copy of my receipt and was told they no longer have it because it was last week when I came in...lol. They kept making excuses so I sat at the bar and called my bank. While I'm quietly waiting on hold, an officer walked in. A lady came out to meet him and they spoke in Spanish so I'm not sure what was said. She showed him a receipt that was in a zip lock bag . He then came over to me and asked what was going on. I explained it to him as well. After I finished, he informed me that they didn't want me here. I sat at that bar trying to rectify the issue for almost an hour and now all of a sudden they didn't want me in their establishment. I didn't yell or acted out in any type of way while I was there from 5pm-5:50pm. I walked out with Sgt. Ortiz Ramos who was not in a marked police vehicle. I disputed the $41.90 over charge with my bank. I'm pissed from the way this was handled. So many red flags so I know something underhanded was done. Why you couldn't show me my signed receipt and why was it in a zip lock bag????

Definitely made sense with the type of restaurant and location, etc. It was more on the dark side lighting wise. Service 3/5 We were seated quickly, our waitress was readily available, and I think the timeliness of service was appropriate with how long it took to get food/drinks. Food 2/5 I ordered "Ultimate Sampler" with wings, guac, and empanada. It was all ok. Nothing spectacular or standout. The empanada was probably my least fav of the 3 items. Drinks 3/5 I don't remember what I got but I don't remember being blown away. I think it was a pitcher of margaritas maybe... it was pretty standard not bad, not great just standard... got the job done Final Verdict 3/5 This is a pretty standard/solid choice for bar food and drinks. We specifically came for the karaoke which was had a great time with and fully enjoyed the experience so we would definitely return for that.
