Disappointed with service, I walked and requested peanut and pork soup advertised on the window outside the establishment by front door, I was told they don't have soup and it's only on weekends......Ohhhhk ....probably should advertise that! But hey I'm just the customer wanting the food.... I then ordered the Cuban sandwich and Cuban salad both advertised with a drink included.....so here we go...after 15 minutes I get the food and have a nice day...I ask for the drinks...the woman says no drink.....huh.....(oh gosh the menu on the wall says drink with each) I'm thinking is this a weekend menu too! The woman walks in kitchen and a male comes out and says nope no drink and looks at the menu posted and tells the one only one of items comes with a drink....so I get one drink. At this point this food better be good because I'm already over this establishment and the impression isn't great!!!!! Read this menu....Cuban sandwich and salad....I spy drink included

Went again, had Sal Pancho today. Very good and reasonable. My friend had Saltinas she loved them.

We love El Sabor Boliviano. We often order api con pasteles for breakfast, and will also come here for lunch/dinner and order the silpancho. Recently we came here for a quick lunch, we had saltenas. The food is delicious and comes out quickly. Service could improve - staff are friendly but not very attentive. The environment is basic and needs some more decorative improvements.

I order chicharrón (pork) big chunks well cooked, the flavor is amazing, it is the best in the area. You must try this.

Beef saltena is the absolute best. Must get. Cheese empanada was cold, yet sweet, but don't bother.

The fish sauce paired was the perfect amount of sweetness & tanginess I also go the special combination bahn mi which I thought was okay. The bread was not as flakey as I would have liked it. The pickled carrots & daikons were not soaked long enough imo. I tried some of the desserts as well which included a cherry Che & while this was good I wish the jelly was cut up more. They are extremely large pieces (personal preference here). I also got the fried rice with pork floss & first time having this I loved it! Service was nice & friendly. Capo Italian Deli - Old Town Alexandria…read more I reviewed our new Old Town neighbor - Capo Italian Deli - early in 2026. Time for an update. The deli is outstanding. Taking up a tiny footprint on the N. Washington Avenue thoroughfare, a few seconds from King Street, the deli delivers both hot and cold deli entrees, soft drinks, and salads. There's maybe half a dozen tables inside and a couple of tables outside, but from what I have seen thus far, most of the trade is with carry-out service, drawing from the excellent reputation Capo brought with it as it arrived in Old Town (the restaurant has siblings in Shaw NW, and Western Market in the District, Tyson's Corner in Vienna, VA, Annapolis and Potomac, MD). Fresh Philly rolls for those seeking a traditional hero sandwich, with go-to seasonings and all of the essential protein groups. My favorite is a large half roast beef half turkey with lettuce, tomato, and mayo (I skip the Italian dressing, which is part of the default, and I skip the cheese). I can and have made this $18 sandwich last three meals (so I ask them to cut the sandwich into three pieces), and the ingredients stay fresh for the next 24 hours. The last time I did this the sandwich fed me from 4:45 a.m. to 9 p.m., as I served as an election officer at one of Alexandria's polling places. Neat, trim, and completely satisfying. Just a point of concern: given its location, the opportunity to double-park while picking up an order seems to be just too tempting. This location, however, cannot over the long term sustain double-parkers. The deli is about 100 feet from the intersection of King Street and N. Washington Street. There is a dedicated lane for cars seeking to park adjacent to the deli. And then there are two northbound lanes on N. Washington Street. That's it - just two lanes serving one of the busiest intersections in Old Town. If a delivery-service car pulls up alongside one of the parked cars, all hell will break loose by drivers who suddenly find a delivery vehicle double-parking in front of Capo, leaving but one northbound lane open for however long it takes for the delivery agent to gather the order and beat it out of there. This happens with remarkable frequency, starting at about 11 a.m. and running throughout the day. That's not going to make good neighbors of Capo's nearby shops. Alexandria Parking has its work cut out for it, but here the rule prohibiting double-parking has to be enforced - it's both a safety issue and an issue of common courtesy. Doesn't matter if you think you'll just be in and out of the deli in seconds. We know it doesn't work that way, not always, and here - not even often. More often than not the double-parker will be creating a traffic hazard just by parking alongside a parked car in front of the deli. Please, don't do this.

This review is based solely on the customer service I received over the phone…read more I had placed a $62 order through DoorDash and chose Capo even though there are plenty of other deli spots nearby, because they normally make really good sandwiches. Unfortunately, the customer service this time was extremely disappointing. I called with a simple question about the bread since I have braces and needed something soft. The person who answered the phone was rude and dismissive, acting as if my call was an inconvenience. When I asked which bread was the softest, he cut me off to say they were "super busy" and could only change the bread on one sandwich, not both. I asked again for clarification, and he continued sounding irritated and uninterested in helping. He repeated that they had a line of people and needed to know which one sandwich I wanted to change. For the amount I paid, the lack of basic courtesy and willingness to answer a straightforward question was unacceptable. This will be my last time ordering from Capo in Alexandria, VA.

I entered at high noon on a weekday and was surprised that there was only one other customer. All the other tables were empty. The aromatic scent of pho filled air. Did they also serve pho at Club Sandwich (I didn't check the menu) besides burgers and sandwiches? Or was the aroma from Pho 95 two doors down? I decided what I wanted to order, but there was a problem. There was nobody at the counter. I waited maybe four minutes to see if anybody from the back would come out to take my order. But nobody came out. I was hungry and didn't want to wait any longer, so I just left. Club Sandwich could at least have a bell on their counter to get somebody's attention if they aren't going to man the counter.

I realized my love-hate relationship with The Club has spanned over 7 years and a change of…read moremanagement. Gave it 4 stars at first, then they shifted to this Nashville Hot Chicken style for wings for a one star, and recently revisited after checking out that their online menu brought back the traditional wing sauces. I surely missed out when that happened. Coming back, I declare that their wings are probably some of the better ones in the DMV. As the wifey said, crunchy on the outside, juicy inside. And their portions are big. We ordered 12, half plain and the other lemon pepper. The base wings is flavorful enough to savor. The problem lies in the menu. Looking at the screen as initial point of contact, you feel like you opened a box of jigsaw puzzle. The Club needs to organize and simplify their menu and classify according to wings, burgers, bowls and sides. That would solve the problem. Change the shocking blue background color and take out the pictures of the burgers which look very similar with one another to free up more space. Additionally, you feel like you're in a mini Cheesecake Factory with so many choices available. Simplify the menu! Also, let go of your separation anxiety with all this huge printed merchandising materials, some of which have been there from the start! Then there are standee signs that list other order options. They make the place look cheap and dated. Worse, they're confusing and an eyeful. One sign featured all the Korean chicken variants while another tucked away somewhere reveals you can get the lemon pepper and other interesting sauces and toppings. Put it this way, if the Restaurant Makeover show and Chef Gordon Ramsay came over, they would change 2 things: simplify the menu and add some pop to the interior. Get professional help on these please. Don't "wing" it and hoard on the huge menu boards like you were archiving old photographs. Have the owners noticed that more people are doing take-outs rather than dining in? A one day make over of fresh paint with vibrant new furniture (they have the same ones 7 years back) and simple menus with one or two picture boards would make this place rock and do justice to their awesome chicken wings (if only you knew that you can get more that 10 flavors to choose from)! Hopefully, The Club will merit my Yelp record of 4 reviews for a single restaurant culminating in one that showcases the true potential of this place.
