We ordered: +a blanca Mocha - this was prepared very well; strong, creamy, and tasty! +a beef empanada - the exterior was a bit too thick, and I wasn't a fan of the filling flavors +a chicken empanada - the exterior was a bit too thick, and I wasn't a fan of the filling flavors +a Pollo sandwich - kind of like a chicken salad sandwich with mayo on a French bread; bread could have been less crusty and more fresh; the chicken salad itself was seasoned well and tasty; comes with shoestring potato sticks (I thought it came with fries); don't forget to request extra of the spicy sauce! +a Lomo Saltado - very generous in portions, this was prepared well and had great flavor; don't forget to request more of that spicy sauce! The spicy sauce, which seems like a spicier version of the aji, was amazing and a great complement to the food. Service was very friendly and kind. You order first at the cashier, and then just choose any of the tables. There also seems to be patrons coming in for to-go orders. Plenty of parking in the strip plaza lot. +tasty hot sauce! +great coffee +friendly service +plenty of parking

Plus it's really the only type of food from South of the Border that I know my stomach will not have a problem with. Some of the other Latin food I sometimes need to be careful about eating. I found this teatau ant online, and I came right over here during my break. Instead of ordering regular fried chicken, I decided on their baked chicken platter that came with four pieces. A chicken breast, wing, leg, and thigh. The platter also came with a side order of potatoes which also a sure bet for my body. The service was fast, and I basically ate my lunch right there in the restaurant. The chicken was great and I will remember to come back here in the future.

I've been a loyal customer of El Pollo Rico for over 30 years, since I was 17 so I know exactly how…read moretheir Peruvian charcoal chicken is supposed to taste. Unfortunately, the El Pollo Rico Woodbridge, VA location is a huge disappointment. The chicken is consistently dry, over-grilled/burnt and noticeably spicier than it used to be, completely missing that signature flavor. There's nothing worse than dry chicken breast and a hard wing. I went three days in a row just to be sure, and it was the same result every time. This isn't a one-off issue. It's a clear drop in quality. Sadly, I won't be back. Time to find another spot.

My wife stopped by this establishment to pick up some dinner for the two of us after a long day of…read moreshopping. Peruvian chicken and a few other meals are amongst my favorite things to eat; BUT, this experience was not at all what I was expecting. I ordered the quarter white rotisserie chicken with the salad and yucca as my sides. My wife ordered a shrimp meal with rice and a potato? The chicken was absolutely disgusting!!! It was as if they forgot that it was on the rotisserie and pulled it off just as the last drop of moisture fell into the burning, hot embers. The chicken was so dry that I could've used it as kindling for my survival kit. The yucca, which I don't eat often, seemed that it was also overcooked and had several strands of fibrous stuff running down the length of the chunks. I was so disappointed that I trashed everything except for the salad, which was actually very tasty. I'm not sure if what they served was cooked the day before and then reheated, but that would actually make sense. I hate wasting food like that in these times, but I wasn't going to waste gas (at these prices) to go back and complain...this my rant on this post. I don't know if Mi Rico is a new restaurant, but you all need to do much better if you're trying to survive in this economy. IJS!
