This spot serves Salvadorian authentic dishes. It is a very casual concept, so rating is based on that plus food. The ambiance is casual, quick service (I dined here for breakfast on the weekend). It's also a type of sports bar (there's a bar area and they have projectors playing live soccer games/sports). They also have a stage (perhaps for live music at night). It is family friendly and staff are bilingual. There is a panadería (bakery) section as well. They interestingly have live lobsters which are part of your menu platter selections. Pricing is very cheap for dishes starting as low as $7.99. The menu is extensive, so many things to choose from. I have come to this restaurant several times and sometimes even twice in the same week and never have I been treated worst then this time. Our server was just so uninterested and plain rude. No greeting first of all, I asked her for Diet Coke and with attitude she said no, there's none. I asked her it's ok I can have from fountain, she said no, there's none only coke. I had to agree. My companion ordered water. We get served the soda and a water bottle and just dropped on the table. As I sit waiting for my order I notice they one of the other waitress goes and serves the next table a Diet Coke on a glass of ice. Saw all tables that all of them had a glass of ice and their choice of drink, to confirm I call her and asked what she served the other table and of course to my surprise, it was Diet Coke. As we were still talking my table waitress shows up and surprised I asked her "i thought you didn't have any Diet Coke" again with such nasty attitude said "ok I'll get you one of you want" I said no, I didn't want it anymore, she still brought to me and literally dropped on my table. I asked the other waitress I was extra disappointed and asked what was the rude waitress name, she gave me "Tanya" I told her to have a supervisor show up. She brings her manager and she didn't care. She said oh sorry I'll get you a drink if that's what you want. I told her how disappointed I was, she said sorry and just walked away. No more apologies. This place has gone down hill. It used to be such an awesome place but that has completely changed. No care on their customers, food is cold and not fresh at all. Restaurant itself is dirty, food leftover can be found under your table and this time I went to the restroom, I saw little roaches under their sink! I was extremely grossed out and impressed on how that place is still running. I will be contacting the health department as this place shouldn't be running under those conditions. The wife and I went for lunch on a Saturday, ending up here quite by accident but it turned out great. There was an extensive buffet ($10.99) but we opted to order from the menu because I had a coupon for a discounted entree and because we did not want to mix and match our foods that day. The menu is quite extensive. There is Salvadoran food, Peruvian, and, of course, Mexican. Plus a section on appetizers. Separate sections exist for chicken, meat, seafood. There really is no reason to opt for the buffet when you can assemble a feast from the regular menu. The main reason for the buffet I suppose is the price and variety. But don't just rush for the buffet because the menu has real gems. I would note that most everyone else in the place did choose the buffet, but I am perfectly happy with our decision and would order from the menu again in a heartbeat. Also, the buffet menu items are not labeled and so it is not clear what some meats or other things are. We started with Peruvian/Salvadoran tamales, which are completely different than Mexican tamales because they are wrapped in banana leaves which keeps them incredibly moist and tender, and imparts a wonderful flavor. They were a steal at $1.50 each. We also got two pork papusas ($1.25) and they were the best I ever had--thick, meaty, and the accompanying hot sauce and cole slaw were excellent. They were not greasy at all. I could eat those all day! For entrees, I got #105, tilipia with assorted grilled vegies, and the wife got #104, fried fish with vegies and yucca. Her fish was lightly fried with an expert touch, not greasy, not heavy. It was perfect. Same for my fish. Wow, it was just great. A full meal that does not make you feel bloated or weighted down. The service was exemplary. The manager, or who I took to be the manager, met us at the door and was so kind and friendly, asking if we needed help with the menu and if we were familiar with Salvadoran/Peruvian food. We were, but the gesture was appreciated. Our waitress knew English perfectly well and we had no language problems at all. The service was attentive and helpful. No complaints at all. Our food was freshly prepared and came out steaming hot. The prices are very reasonable, and the food is outstanding, clearly a 5 in my book. The ambiance is closer to a 4 because it has a nicely decorated, but rather modest inside in a semi-marginal neighborhood. That did not bother me, but it might be off-putting to some. But you go here for the food. This is a real find! We absolutely will return, even though from Dallas it is not a short drive to Irving. read more

Every single dish we tried was delicious, hot and beautifully presented on the buffet. Large salad bar with gorgeous fresh fruits and salads including delicious Spanish Potato Salad. I have had their El Salvadorian tamales, which is different from a Mexican tamale in consistency and content. It had chick peas ( I think), potatoes, and chicken. The consistency was very loose. It is not a finger food. You kind of need to eat it with a fork. I'm glad I tried it though. I don't know If I'd order it again though. Now I come here for their pupusas. Delish and CHEAP. They are around $1.50 a piece, and you get sauce and some kind of spiced cabbage, which comes in a plastic baggie. I feel silly for not knowing the actual names of these foods. I had a room mate from El Salvador, and she turned me on to this stuff. I have tried both the pork and the bean and cheese ones. The beans ooze out of the pupusa while cooking, so they're not such a petty site when served, but they taste just fine. Asked for tacos a carbon and they gave me some kind of wet meat with alot of bell peeper, even the pico de Gallo was made with bell pepper. We have come to this restaurant a few times and every time we come In these waitress are so snotty. My husband and I and our daughter had gone in to eat. And my husband asked for horchata and I a Diet Coke. Well went to serve food and I seen my husbands drink was on table but mine wasn't. My grandmother made sure to ask that beef was in the Chili Rellenos even know the menu said there was... She was told yes, but they still just came with cheese... Not sure the exact dish my mother picked it was some sort of gravy french fry beef concoction, the beef was so chewy she could not eat it... I got the Chicken Fajitas, and they were pretty decent enough... The tortillas came about halfway into me eating, but were very good... My little nephew enjoyed playing with his food, but he's still plays with Dupoblocks so are you really going to trust his judgement...? Really the only nice thing I have to say about this place is that when we asked about chips and salsa at the beginning and they said they do not do that, but would see if they would fry up some for us in the back... There is a wide selection of foods, but they are all pretty bland without much flavor. The food was warm at best, but most were room temperature. The only things I really liked were the seafood fried rice (with squid, mussels, shrimp) and the pupusas. The atmosphere really makes you feel like you are in Latin America with the murals on the walls and the fact that we were the only English speaking people eating there. Finally made it back here for the lunch buffet (8 bucks on a weekday). It earns a solid 3 stars. The frustrating part was they added at least 4 more items after we had loaded up our plates so, not wishing to throw out food (or make a total pig out of myself), I didn't get to try everything I would have liked to. Who knows? I may have been able to award them 4 stars! I'll try to go back soon. They put out quite a spread, representing the cuisines of El Salvador, Mexico, and Peru. Lots of choices. We politely ask if we can cancel only 2 orders out of 6. NOPE. Apparently, it had to be all buffet or menu but not BOTH. They wouldn't comprise and we were met with nasty attitude coming from the waitress and the owner. Really is hit or miss on the roasted chicken. Very much depends on when you order it whether it is juicy or a bit dried out. Most of the time the chicken is flavorful along with their fresh salad and fries. Make sure you ask for extra crema, that tastes great. read more

We visited this restaurant for the first time today. The staff was wonderful and helpful as we explored the menu. They have an amazing seafood soup called Sopa de Marisco con Langosta. I was very disappointed with this place. My guy and I went here for Valentines Day (we like to keep it low key), and the did was so bland. I will never go here again. I got the margarita chicken, which was basically two of those frozen Tyson chicken breasts heated up with diced green bell peppers and onions dropped on it, and then covered in cheese. No flavor, except what little came from the onions, peppers, and cheese. No seasoning at all. My guy got the chili relleno, and asked for beef and was later told they were out. So he settled with the cheese. He lives chili relleno, but this one, again, had NO flavor. I had a bite and all I could taste was flour from the coating it was tossed it. Total garbage! We had to drench our food in the 3 bottles of hot sauce that were provided. Lastly, Iordered iced tea, and it tasted like what I imagine mop water tastes like. It was very clear for being iced tea, and it didn't taste like it at all. I have no idea what I was actually drinking. What a waste of time and money. The ONLY reason I am giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because the waitress waa sweet. This place is terrible!! read more

Very traditional type if Hispanic we walked in and it was a very large open floor plan to the left of the door was a bakery full of Pan Dulce. It did look fresh if I wasn't so full we would of took some home. There were @ least 4/5 rows of all you can eat heating docks. Lots of televisions & seating areas. We were the last minute customers that even myself working in the food industry cringe to see. But they took it in stride the waitress was very kind and answered all our questions even joked with us before she told us that we had to order before they closed the kitchen and even then she was polite about it. Its definitely one of my favorite buffets, like Chinese buffets better watch out haha They have fried plantains, black beans, pupusas, banana leaf tamales, different types of rice, and meats.
