    Fish dinner
    Jason V.

I ordered the fish dinner, it was a deep fried, whole, flaky white meat fish. Well seasoned and cooked perfectly. Took a half star off for the salad on the plate; it was just a bed of lettuce, chopped tomatoes, carrots, avocado & radish with no dressing. It didn't, in my opinion, go with the dish. The dining room blinds had some sauce stains, needed a bit of a deep clean, but the restroom was very clean. The pupusas were good, the chicharron pupusa was not as crunchy as I thought it would be, it went well with the loroco and calabasa pupusa. You'll have to exercise patience in the wait time, I think there were only 3 people working, a phone ringing, customers ordering take out, & dining in, so that made up for a good 45 minute wait. It was restaurant #2 so it was an overall great (not so) mom and pops place.

Under new ownership not the same service and taste, cook is still there but the new owner changed the whole system

I was in the mood for a pupusa and decided to try this spot. It was a great choice! It's table service, you don't have to order at the front. I ordered two pupusas de queso and a taco and it was too much food. The pupusas are huge and they put the perfect amount of cheese. I wasn't able to finish mine so took it home. I highly recommend this place.

Yummmm. The food here is delicious. Came by while in the area and so glad I did. First, I git a pupusa revuelta and that was one of larger sized pupusas I've had so far. It was also filled with alot of meaty cheesy goodness. The flavor was on point and it was not too oily. The cabbage had a little spice to it and was the perfect topping. We also got the fried plantains with beans and crema. You will get stuffed on this alone. Beans had good flavor and the bananas were fried to perfection. Food is good. Prices are good. Wish there was ac inside. It felt warm especially on a hot day. Not sure if it was because the door was open or if the ac was out but regardless the food makes it worth coming back.

Only tried the plantains but there were too sweet in my opinion. Good amount for the price though.

Service it's whatever to be honest, food it's great but the need to work on their customer service. Also they're so cheap with their salsa, the food it's very price for them to be so cheap with salsa and other stuff. I ordered 5 pupusas and they only gave me one small salsa, after making me wait over an hour.

I was hesitant to try this place because of the reviews, but I'm glad I did. I've only tried the pupusas but that's all I needed to say I'm coming back! I visited on a Tuesday which happened to be when they have pupusas on special! My bro and I ordered 6 to split between us because $3.25 each? Had to be small, right? Wrong! So wrong. Once the lady started making them, we saw the softball size of dough and filling each pupusa was made of. My goodness, they were huge! 2 for each of us would've been plenty already. Totally worth paying full price for. The pupusas we chose were delicious and yes, very greasy. But we chose cheesy pork, so it was expected. It's a very heavy meal, so I'm glad they're generous with their curtido. The pickled veggies help break up the greasy feel. I'd recommend calling ahead for takeout because they make it to order so it takes a while.

    Pupusa de frijoles con queso...

The wife was in the mood for pupusas but since we hardly ever have them we weren't sure where to go. Googled search lead me to this place, had seen as for years as a burger joint but somewhere along the line they became a Salvadorian restaurant... Place is nothing fancy, please keep that in mind. I thought the prices were a little expensive but then I saw the actual size of the pupusas, pretty good size. Ordered 2 revueltas and 2 de frijoles, damn good gotta say. My wife said they were in the salty side but perfect for me. She could barely finish one by herself. I read a prior review saying they were super greasy, I don't think they're anymore greasy than any typical pupusa. I mean, your ordering chicharron with cheese, it's gonna be a little greasy... My only gripe about the place was that a got a dirty look from the cook because I ordered a couple things ala carte which I guess was too much work for her, lol... I ordered 2 burger patties with cheese and grilled onions. Is that a lot to ask for?? They still sell burgers so it's nothing out of the ordinary... One more thing, it did take a litter longer than expected for my order to be ready. Overall I would recommend...

They changed ownership and the pupusas shrunk to half the size they used to be. Don't see myself coming back.

Food is always fresh, so don't go there if you're starving. It does take a bit to get your meal.

I'm grateful for their dedication. The food and beverages they prepare and serve reflect their commitment to their community. Even though they have a made to order kitchen, my food was served quickly each of the three times I've eaten here. Everything is well crafted, with my go-to's being sopa de res and pupusa plates with rice and beans. Auga frescas here are legit as well. I always choose to dine at a table because I like the ambience here. It's got a mercantile vibe with Telemundo on the TV screens and big beautiful posters highlighting lovely scenes from El Salvador. Seating is plentiful and comfortable at the booths. Floors and tables are spotless and clean. Fyi, they have an open kitchen and the a/c's not ice cold for those who prefer sweater weather, but for me it works. And on the plus side, my delicious food stays warm longer. I don't review often, but when I do it's because I feel strongly about the place, and I want to thank everyone who helped/helps make El Jireh a truly outstanding establishment.
