They charged $10 for each empanada order - when I got home to eat the empanadas were burnt. They tasted bad. The beans used were salty and there was too much of it that it left no plantain taste. It was a waste of $20 as they were not eatable. The pupusas were alright. I was disappointed overall cause I had to wait longer than told and the food was not great. I ordered the fish dinner, it was a deep fried, whole, flaky white meat fish. Well seasoned and cooked perfectly. Took a half star off for the salad on the plate; it was just a bed of lettuce, chopped tomatoes, carrots, avocado & radish with no dressing. It didn't, in my opinion, go with the dish. The dining room blinds had some sauce stains, needed a bit of a deep clean, but the restroom was very clean. The pupusas were good, the chicharron pupusa was not as crunchy as I thought it would be, it went well with the loroco and calabasa pupusa. You'll have to exercise patience in the wait time, I think there were only 3 people working, a phone ringing, customers ordering take out, & dining in, so that made up for a good 45 minute wait. I got a couple tamales today the hoja was a really small piece inside the foil paper! Its just masa a piece of green chile a piece of potato and a bit of chicken they taste sour. I used to buy them last year they were delicious but now they are just awful I don't know what happened to the quality? Well I'll never go back again forget about buying my christmas tamales here!!! Yummmm. The food here is delicious. Came by while in the area and so glad I did. First, I git a pupusa revuelta and that was one of larger sized pupusas I've had so far. It was also filled with alot of meaty cheesy goodness. The flavor was on point and it was not too oily. The cabbage had a little spice to it and was the perfect topping. We also got the fried plantains with beans and crema. You will get stuffed on this alone. Beans had good flavor and the bananas were fried to perfection. Food is good. Prices are good. I gave this place two stars because my to-go order took forever at least 25 mins but they were friendly & apologetic with the wait time. So, it was my fault not seeing a sign that was posted by the front entrance stating that service might take some time due to everything being made fresh. I felt the prices are a little pricey for ordering 2 queso pupas and a regular horchata, total $13.62. So not only it took long which I should have known because there was a couple sitting at a table (not sure if they placed their order) but there were two other people waiting for their order which was at left 15 mins. You have to be borned, raised or know someone who knows what bomb pupsusas taste like. The curtido was bland and there plantanitos Fritos con crema y frijoles where ok. The beans didn't have flavor. Las pupusas reveletas were not tasty the chicharrón stuffing was bland. The ambience "is what it is". I was hesitant to try this place because of the reviews, but I'm glad I did. I've only tried the pupusas but that's all I needed to say I'm coming back! I visited on a Tuesday which happened to be when they have pupusas on special! My bro and I ordered 6 to split between us because $3.25 each? Had to be small, right? Wrong! So wrong. Once the lady started making them, we saw the softball size of dough and filling each pupusa was made of. My goodness, they were huge! 2 for each of us would've been plenty already. Totally worth paying full price for. The pupusas we chose were delicious and yes, very greasy. But we chose cheesy pork, so it was expected. It's a very heavy meal, so I'm glad they're generous with their curtido. The pickled veggies help break up the greasy feel. Pick up only. This isn't my side of town but was shopping at food4less and decided to satisfy my craving by ordering pupusas de queso y loroco maza de arroz, plátanos con crema y frijol. For my husband mama de maíz pupusas de chicharrón,frijol y queso and only queso. Flavor is all there, delicious. And the size of the pupusas are huge and perfect. Oh wow! This pupusa is huge. You definitely will not need more than 2. They're definitely not stingy with the filling! It's extra cheesy and meaty just how I like it and cooked to perfection. Don't expect an Instagram-friendly location as it is a very traditional restaurant that cares more about the food quality than the decorations. Highly recommend for the food quality and big portions alone! Probably my new favorite salvadorean food spot. I ordered the El Salvadoreño Combo Original, which came with an assortment of different tasty entrees and side dishes. This place definitely has the best pupusas around the area by WAAY far. Definitely delicious food HOWEVER, they really take their time to do your order. Literally every single order is cook to order so timing is a struggle there. If you really don't mind waiting for your food, (20min-30min) everything will work out.
