The food was amazing. I had the quesadilla and tacos and they were incredible. Highly recommend this place.

Sombreros Mexican has become one of our family's go-to restaurants and one of our absolute…read morefavorites. We eat here regularly, and it consistently delivers great food, friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Our boys almost always order the Sombreros Burrito, my wife rotates between the street tacos and fajitas, and my personal favorite is the chicken fajitas--always hot, fresh, and packed with flavor. They also have a solid drink menu, although you'll usually need to ask for it. The chips and salsa are a must, but here's a pro tip: the regular red salsa can be a little bland on its own. Ask for the hot green salsa, mix in a spoonful or two with the red salsa (and add a little salt if you'd like), and it completely transforms it. Service is generally outstanding. Like any restaurant, there are occasional ups and downs, but in all the years we've been coming here, I can't remember encountering a single unfriendly staff member. One thing that consistently impresses me is how incredibly fast the food comes out, even when they're busy. The owner is also a tremendous supporter of local youth sports, especially baseball, which is something our family appreciates. Because of that support, don't be surprised if you see big crowds during tournament weekends. My only disappointment is that they eliminated their rewards program when they switched POS systems--that was a great perk for loyal customers. Overall, Sombreros is a place we continue to come back to again and again. Great food, great people, quick service, and a business that supports the local community. Highly recommended.

It was a good midnight snack. I got the Barbacoa taco and shrimp taco. Both had tons of flavor, and two was plenty for dinner. The margaritas were excellent! Since you order at the counter, we didn't have a ton of experience with the staff, but everyone seemed friendly and the shop is well maintained We did eat inside, and there were definitely people outside, taking advantage of the patio

It gave an option for dining with a group of people or simply dining alone. We arrived around 1pm on a week day, so just after the lunch rush which was perfect. The food was made fresh, I've always wanted to try the barria taco but no one seems to offer anything but a beef option. And finally, I found a chicken one. It was Delish !! Now I couldn't dip in the au just because it was beef but I appreciate having the option. The Mexican rice was light and flavorful. The queso was good however it stiffened up pretty quickly, just in case you feel the anxiety of choosing between. Your appetizer and the main costs course. Over all, a great experience for a late afternoon lunch. Check out it when your craving tacos, I don't think you'll be disappointment.

Walking in you'll find it's a very bright, cheerful atmosphere, very clean, with about ten tables (I think), and two tv's playing Spanish music. The people are nice and very efficient. Chef Joseph is phenomenal. He was manning the register when I went in. I'd never been to a Mexican & Salvadoran restaurant before. I'm familiar with Mexican American food, a little bit with truly authentic Mexican, and not at all with Salvadoran. Chef Joseph came out from behind the counter and sat at my table explaining the menu to me, the dishes, the flavor profiles. He gave suggestions on what order based on what I told him I liked. I got one of the combo dishes mainly because it offered a variety of proteins and side dishes. I also saw several more items in the menu that I knew I wanted to try on my next visit. The food was delicious! I surprised myself by finishing the whole plate. I was also delighted to find La Cocina De Mary had atole. It's a traditional cold weather drink made with masa harina, milk, and spices. My tia made it when I was a kid, so there's fond memories. This one was better ... and lucky for me tia isn't on Yelp and will never read this. They have soft drinks and a few alcohol drinks that I may try next time. The one that's a bloody mary except with beer instead of vodka sounded interesting. Next time I go, I'm taking FPO with me. This is a great little place and I hope they're there for a long time to come.

Unfortunately, the person who usually organizes these types of events loves Campesino. NOTHING has changed. Despite her calling the same day to ensure our reservation for 12 people was confirmed, they still acted confused when a large group showed up. They had no idea we were coming and had to hustle a few tables together once we arrived. The service is still slow. The food and salsa are still bland. I didn't even get to enjoy one of their margaritas (the only item really worth ordering), as I had to go to work following dinner. My vegetarian combo (burrito and chile relleno with beans and rice) were as plain as I-70 in western Kansas. I think the food was even more uninspired than my last visit. It took forever to order, forever to get our food, and then some items came out late or required prompting to procure. I just don't understand why people love this place. I think they just get drunk on the margs and *think* the food is good. Do not come here if you enjoy anything but bland food.
