I saw Dr. Nakada for my exam & she was very thorough. Then picked out my glasses & got what I feel best prescription glasses since - well since now. I came from Whittier & everyone swears up & down about Dr. Golden's office - but I was much happier with this Optometry group. It was just a thorough experience. They will gauge your for every dollar. If you order contacts outside their scope, they will charge you another $50 before they will approve and release the contacts to you. They are supposed to verify the prescription is correct with what contacts I'm ordering, not tell me where I can order from and charge me extra to do that. Bad bad bad read more

Dr. Jenny is awesome! She is patient, calm and thourough. She is a very skilled and knowledgable optometrist and pays attention to the details. Dr. Jenny even came in on a weekend for me, the day after Thanksgiving(!), because I scratched my cornia and was in terrible discomfort. My kids repond really well to her, which is to say a lot! I needed to go to an eye doctor after waking up with an irritated, watery left eye. I would have gone to my usual doctor but wanted to find a place close to work. Be cautious with Yelp because I chose this place due to 5 star reviews. I worked in the optometry industry for 4 years so I was hoping for the best. I'm sure Dr. Bell is a great optometrist, but this is just based on my experience as a walk-in. Pros + I was seen immediately + Patsy at the front desk was very sweet Cons - Lack of attention- My pupils were dilated and I was never given the shades needed for under my glasses, I wore my oversized glasses (over glasses) during my difficult drive back - Cost- I paid $ 120 for a walk in, new patient visit; I've paid half at other offices for the same diagnosis - No medication given or recommended Caveat, I was simply told to put a cold compress on it and avoid contact with because it was a virus, I just wish it was a more empathetic, compassionate visit considering how uncomfortable I was read more

Look no further (no pun intended) for an amazing optometrist than Dr. Bell! I have been entrusting Dr. Bell and her staff with my eye care for more than 14+ years. What I love most about Dr. Bell is not only is she attentive and professional, but she is very thorough. She takes her time, runs the gambit of tests, and I never feel rushed or not relaxed when going to see her. Even during those years where my medical/vision insurance was lacking in coverage for eye exams, I still made my way to see her for my annual eye check up - because I care about my eyes, and she does too! It really shows!! Logistics: the El Segundo Optometry team is located in downtown El Segundo, just off of Main Street. Parking is free on the streets and usually plentiful. The shop is full service and you can try on and order glasses or contacts from their office. So if you need a great eye doctor, and you KNOW you do, please trust me when I say that Dr. Bell and her friendly and knowledgeable staff are simply the best! Go check them out! read more

I've been seeing Dr. Michele Rogers for about five years now and I'm extremely pleased with her kindness, knowledge, compassion, and easy-going demeanor. I'm not your average optometry patient, as I have had Type 1 Diabetes for over 30 years now. Dr. Rogers has always taken the time to conduct thorough examinations of my eyes and recommend any "next steps" that may be necessary. When some of my scans showed that I would need a more specialized opinion, she didn't hesitate to refer me to a retina specialist so that I could receive the care I needed. Dr. Rogers always takes the time to explain what she's doing and the atmosphere of the office is very relaxed and even playful. (There's a sign on one of the walls that has a list of items to avoid when washing your contacts--among them is sandpaper.) The front office staff, as well as the staff of the eyeglasses boutique in the back are all extremely courteous and helpful. Dr. Rogers will take the time to make sure you are a happy patient and a happy customer. I highly recommend her. read more

The Doctors at UCLA, credit Dr. Michele Rogers, who works with Dr. Bell, for her comprehensive eye exam and quick action, with saving my husbands eye sight. He was previously misdiagnosed at an Urgent Care Center. Dr. Rogers discovered swelling on his optic nerves, and made arrangements for us to be seen urgently. We will always be internally grateful and no words can fully express our gratitude. She is the best!. The rest of the staff is wonderful too. I'm in the market for a new optometrist, I wanted someone local (but not a deal breaker if it's not), someone friendly, good and et cetera ... So, after perusing Yelp I decided to give this place a try - and, this place was a rude awakening. I'm a new customer in the market for a long term optometrist, so, I called and scheduled an appointment for the next day - and, unfortunately, due to certain circumstances, the day of the appointment, I called the optometrist 1st thing in the morning and left a voicemail apologizing and would need to reschedule - this lady calls me back and one of the 1st things she says is... --- I have to pay a $35 no show fee --- I'm a bit taken back and told her that no one told me that yesterday when I made the appointment and she said that's their policy... So we banter back and forth for a bit before we both had enough and I simply hung up. I don't take anyone's time lightly, we're all busy trying to make ends meet, put food on the table and such - but, there has to be: 1. Some flexibility/understanding built into their system 2. I'm a new customer, you have to tell me these fees upfront, it's not like I can read minds and their website doesn't mention anything about cancelation fees. Thankfully for me, the optometrist market is over-saturated and there's a million places I can go to. read more

I came in to this office to update my 1 1/2 year old prescription from another eye doctor who is now pretty far away after I moved. Their first attempt was so far off that I could barely wear the new lenses out the door. The second attempt wasn't much better. So I just had them put back my old lenses. They didn't even clean my glasses when they gave them back to me. They are only providing me a partial refund. So I'm trying to find out what insurance coverage I have left so I can travel back to my old doctor. During this whole time, which took months, I was wearing an old pair of glasses that hurt my eyes at work. read more

I woke up with excruciating pain in my eye unable to even blink. I called a bunch of optometrists and they all told me to go to urgent care or that they were booked for the day even after I explained my pain. I called Eileen's office and they were booked too but sympathetic to my situation so they squeezed me in for a quick look. the doctor discovered I had a foreign particle embedded in my eye lid and extracted it, applied anti bacterial, and sent me on my way with lubricating eye drops to heal my scratched cornea all under 30 min read more

I started seeing Dr. Bell when I was in first grade. She is without doubt the most fantastic Doctor hands down I have ever experienced. I have seen her all of these years since then, El Segundo Optometry has been the only eye care center I have ever been to. I have also seen Dr. Rogers when she came on staff and I can say she is abodlutely wonderful! Whenever I see her or dr. Bell I feel as if I am visiting a friend. At the same time they each provides the most professional care and as another review mentioned they are super thorough. Now that I live quite a distance I was I still drive for my regular exams. Dr. Bell and her staff are the most caring and attentive professionals I have ever been to. She took so much time to educate me about my vision problem. Previously, I had been to two other optometrists that gave me basic eye exams but never mentioned health issues with my eyes. With the exam I received from her , I was actually able to see dimensional photos of my retinas. She explained the problem and what I needed to do to keep my eyes healthy.
