I absolutely LOVE Westchester Vision Care. Dr. Tabiza is truly one of a kind. Going to see her feels like you're visiting a girlfriend who just so happens to be an optometrist and knows everything there is to know about your eyes. She's personable, warm, easy to talk to, and always takes her time explaining everything. The front office crew is just as amazing. You're greeted warmly from the moment you walk in, and the entire office has such a nice feel to it. The aesthetics are soft and welcoming, there's always a good playlist going in the background, and nothing about the experience feels like your typical doctor's office. I also appreciate how up to date everything is. Dr. Tabiza uses some of the latest eye care technology and equipment, and she actually walks you through what she's looking at instead of just doing the exam and sending you on your way. At this point, there's no other eye doctor or office I need to visit. As long as Dr. Tabiza is there, I'm there. Period. read more

I had a very disappointing experience with this ophthalmologist's office. From the moment I started choosing glasses, I felt rushed by Dr. Tabiza and pressured into making a purchase of glasses rather than being guided through the process. There was very little patience, no real explanation of my options, and absolutely no effort to make sure I felt comfortable with my decision. The customer service was extremely poor. I felt disregarded and unimportant. The interaction felt cold and transactional, as if they only cared about making a sale rather than providing quality patient care. I left feeling frustrated and unhappy with the experience. Choosing glasses is an important decision, and patients deserve time, guidance, and respect -- none of which I received here. I cancelled my glasses that I ordered the following day, due to the pressure I felt in the office. No thanks, never coming back. read more

I don't give low star reviews without significant thought and I truly hate to do so and will avoid if possible, however my experience with the Westchester Eyecare Center was the worst optometry visit. My appointment was with Dr. Judy Hamouie, not the primary optometrist, earlier this year in 2022. Dr. Hamouie was very nice and personable, as with the rest of the staff, however, that's where the good things ended. During the contact lens evaluation, she gave me new contacts to test out. When I put them on, she asked how they were and I told her one eye was blurry and she had me still go through the rest of the exam. Afterwards, she told me the office was actually out of the correct prescription but she wanted to see if a completely different prescription (more than 1 point difference, which is a lot) might work. I was appalled she would do that; no optometrist has ever done that in the 20 years I've been wearing contacts and I immediately took off the contacts since they were giving me a headache. The second incident was while doing the eye exam. I had my glasses folded on my lap and she dropped one of the metal monocles on my glasses lens. After the exam, she told me that while my eyesight had slightly worsened, she recommended I keep the same glasses instead of updating the prescription since it was such a small difference. When I later realized there was a large scratch across the lens, I was told there was nothing they could do about it even though Dr. Hamouie admitted she dropped the item onto my glasses that caused the scratch. I called back to see if there was any way they could replace the one scratched lens, they said the best they could offer was a 'heavy discount' on a new lens and I would 'only' have to pay $70 out of pocket and I should update my lens since my prescription said (the exact opposite of what was said pre-scratch). I went to this optometrist expecting a normal eye exam, but instead was given incorrect contact lens and scratched glasses I would have to pay out of pocket to fix. I will not be returning and truly hope others do not have a similar experience here. Update in response to Jennifer's comment: my appointment was in February 2022 and I did not order glasses here. I should not have to pay to repair glasses that were damaged by the staff of this office, regardless of where I originally ordered the glasses from. read more

I had an amazing experience at Eyecare & Total Body Aesthetics! The staff were all very welcoming upon my arrival. The office is very clean and aesthetically pleasing. I would be very careful with this place. Their billing person does not know how to do her job. They are incredibly slow at responding and will push you the most expensive contacts, exams, making you spend hundreds of dollars with them. My vision insurance is so great. I have a $0 copay and a lot of coverage. However, I left the office feeling like I had been robbed since I had to pay $99 for a simple eye exam and contact lens evaluation. They also wanted me to spend $700 on contact lenses. I said no. I asked to see the breakdown for the exam and they couldn't give it to me because they had not filed with my insurance. This was around 3 weeks after my exam. Very unprofessional. After they finally billed my insurance $500, my insurance said I owed LESS than what they had charged me. I complained to Westchester Eyecare center and they said they would reimburse me the difference. Obviously they did not mean this, since I still have not received anything. Then they decided to cancel the claim with my vision insurance and file to my MEDICAL insurance another $500 instead. Seriously? Not sure who thought of this but i never authorized them to use my medical insurance. I only gave them my vision insurance. They are either trying to make the most money out of insurance companies and patients, or they are completely inept at their jobs. Either one is a great reason to never come back again. read more

I had the most amazing experience at Westchester Eyecare Center yesterday! I came in to have my eyes evaluated after sustaining a trauma to one of my eyes. The front of office staff was exceptionally kind, efficient, and punctual. The office, including the examination room, was immaculate. I did not have to experience the discomfort of eye dilation, as this business carries high tech machinery that visualizes the retina non-invasively. Dr. Hamouie took the time to complete a very thorough eye exam. She checked my eye pressures, evaluated my eyes for any tears/holes, checked for eye muscle damage, and reviewed my eye images with me. She also answered my many questions. She is very personable, patient, and knowledgeable, and I would 100% recommend her and the Westchester Eyecare Center for eye care. read more

After reading the reviews, I booked an appointment here for an "eye exam ONLY" because I was due for a new prescription. After the exam, it became obvious Dr. T and her staff wouldn't release my prescription to me until I placed an order through her office to buy contacts. They even tried to upsell me. I was given several excuses (1) first saying the prescription wasn't ready immediately after the exam and (2) they couldn't email it or send it to me by mail - they could only give me my prescription in-person. I've had many eye exams at different places. Never before was I required to jump through hoops to walk out with a prescription in hand. Dear fellow patients -- after you pay for an exam, purchase of contacts or glasses is optional. Not required. Don't let this office take advantage of you. The reviews left by others comment on the beautiful renovated office. The appearance of the office is much less important to me than honest, efficient eye care. I won't return. No thanks. read more

Just as its hard finding a good doctor its hard finding a good optometrist! After years of going here my husband has always had nothing but good to say about Dr. Gettis. He described him as a kindly old man who actually cares about the patient. Hmm, well I finally decided to make an eye appt and it turns out my husband is right! My entire appt there was absolutely enjoyable. I came on a weekday at noon and the office was pretty empty. Filled out my insurance forms given to me by the friendly staff behind the counter. Then waited several minutes before starting my eye exam with Dr. Gettis. He's absolutely comfortable to be with and has the manner of a talkative grandfather. We chatted about various subjects as we went through all the eye exam tests. Even flew through the glaucoma test quickly! My least favorite eye test that uses a puff of air straight into your eye. From there I picked out some new frames with the help of the office staff. I didn't catch her name but she knew what she was doing! I wanted to provide an update to my review posted a couple weeks ago. To Dr. Tabiza's credit, she took the feedback very seriously and was extremely apologetic for what happened. It was simply an unfortunate event that led to the cancellation of my appointment. I rescheduled my appointment, and met with her yesterday. I must say, it was a fantastic experience. Service was amazing by Giselle at the front desk. She greeted me and then conducted the "pre-exam" work before walking me to my appointment with Dr. Tabiza. When I met with Dr. Tabiza, she was very appreciative that I made the follow up appointment. She was also very helpful in diagnosing some of the issues I was experiencing with my eyes. Finally, she walked me over to Toni, the Optician, who helped me select the best glasses for me. All in all, a great experience. I had such a hard time finding this place the first time I went! haha The doctor is young, but seems really on top of her game, really knowledgable, and proactive. I was wary going in because last year (in Vegas), I was prescribed glasses for the first time, but the glasses I blew a hunk of change on never felt right so I wondered if I needed them at all. I could and can still see 20/20 without glasses, but I squint and strain and overwork my eyes to do so, which was causing headaches. The prescription I received here (both glasses and contacts) felt so natural and perfect right away, and I finally felt comfortable with glasses -- no more squinting or strain. Now, I actually wear them, whereas I didn't before because it feels better than not wearing them (which is the point, right!). The doctor explains things to you if you ask, which I appreciate. She goes out of her way to offer helpful suggestions, in general. I initially chose this office because of the ratings and the fact that they had couture frames. That being said, their couture selection is limited and they mix it in with lesser known brands of excellent quality. I wasn't thrilled about that until I started getting fitted for frames. Most frame shapes don't flatter me and I always have to try on several sunglasses before finding even 1 pair that looks good -- the lovely woman helping me found like 5-10 shapes that looked great on me right off the bat! Not a single one that she picked looked bad. I actually did have one kind of mishap or "bad experience" happen, but I could tell it was a one-off that was not even completely their fault, and they took every practical, proactive step to fix it, so it didn't leave a sour taste in my mouth. read more

But the gear's not a crutch for him. The thing that sets Dr. Gettis apart from the rest of the pack is his innate feel for what works and what doesn't. He's an ultra-seasoned and gifted pro. In his work with me, I attempted to recreate the distance between me and a music stand for a very specialized pair of glasses I need to read music within a "range of circumstances". I can't even imagine the math that goes into nailing that sort of prescription, but HE DID. Spot ON! I can see it clearly now...his kindness, generosity, wizard-like acumen for the gig and incredibly fair pricing have made me a fan of Dr. Gettis for the long haul. Best place to go!! I love Westchester Eyecare Center and their entire staff. Everyone is super helpful and will answer any questions you have. Dr. Tabiza greeted me with a HUGE smile and I love that! Exam: It kills me when I go to a doctor's office and they don't have basic courtesy meant to welcome a patient. Dr Tabiza answered all of my annoying questions and never took her smile away. All of her instruments used are modern, one that I enjoyed was the retinal camera. The tech takes a photo of the back of your eye and then Dr. Tabiza reviews it once in the exam (it was really cool seeing my eyes from the inside!). Frame: Toni/Stacy helped me choose a cute frame (conveniently priced), it was all very easy! Prescription: I'm a perfectionist so prescriptions are always hard to get on point (my last DR had to redo my glasses 2 times). These were perfect and I did not need to come back. I've been going to Dr Gettis for years now. He is good at what he does. I think he may have discovered the fountain of youth because I swear he looks exactly the same as when I saw him when I was 7. There used to be this old lady there whom I hated. Meanest person you'd ever find but she's gone thank God. The prices are very high. If you come, expect to pay a pretty penny, unless you have eye insurance. I got lasik surgery with Gettis after high school which was worth it but when I came back for night glasses... That bill scared me! Other than the price Dr Gettis is a good guy. Always smiling and happy. Always fixes things without paying. Nice guy. Nice probably because he's making money! Probably should say that in my family, I'm the third generation to see Dr. Gettis. My Grandma and Grandpa were patients of his, my mom and her four siblings were (the ones that live locally still are) and now you can add me to the list. I am the oldest out of my entire family to need glasses, getting them at 22. The rest of them have all had them for many years, dating back to grade school. He's a quality eye doctor and will not only take his time making sure your prescription is right, he (and his office staff of adorable old ladies) will help you find the right frames. It's that time again! I went to Dr. Gettis last year and the entire visit - exam, choosing frames, fitting was a great experience. Dr. Gettis was very thorough in my exam and and fitting. I was reluctant to try progressive but he made a slight adjustment to the reading portion so that the transition would be easy. It worked! Because I now need progressive lens, my choice of frames was limited. I should have shopped around more, as I ended up with a frame that I feel is too wide for my eye area, but comfort/fit wise, they are perfect, even a year later. read more

I moved down from up in the bay and the optometrist/full staff there were extremely nice. They made you feel very welcomed and comfortable. The receptionists here are fairly old (they look like they are 70-80yo) so they don't know how to operate the technology necessary to even calculate your bill. On the other hand, Michael was great. Even though he is older, he is extremely nice. When the receptionist refused to tell me how much I was going to be paying for my contacts, he called me back after I had left upset to square away the bill. He even gave me a good discount. Summary? I wouldn't go back here. Michael is great but it doesn't make up for the receptionists and the lack of new technology. Like the staff, their equipment is out dated! read more

I had a great experience at Westchester Eyecare and recommend them. I haven't had an eye exam in over 15 years so I was a little nervous. However, I've needed reading glasses for a few years and my store-bought readers were only okay. I have a family history of glasses so I thought I'd better bite the bullet and go in. The location is very nice and I've been told it was recently remodeled. I'm no expert, but iut looked like all the equipment was very new and hi-tech. The staff was very friendly and the tech who did my initial exam seemed extremely competent. She did a good job of putting me at ease. Then Dr. Tabiza came in and she was great. Very friendly and again, put me at ease. She had a lot of great suggestions as well as a recommendation for different reading glasses with blue-light blocking because I sit in front of a computer all day. After I was finished with Dr. Tabiza, she had her eyewear specialist help me find a good looking set of reading glasses. My insurance covers 80% of the cost so they are not very expensive, though I don't have any experience buying real glasses. Anyway, it was a great experience and I will definitely return for my annual eye exam. Highly recommended! read more

I have great vision and normally feel that going to an Optometrist is a waste of time (even when my eyes are irritated). In the past, I've dealt with long waits and somewhat robotic service... so when a friend of mine referred me to Westchester Eyecare when I had pink-eye, I was hesitant. But went because my friend spoke so highly of the center and Dr. Tabiza. My experience couldn't have been better. Her staff were friendly and knowledgeable, the facility was clean and stylish (with free parking, rare in L.A.), and I left her office happy in my decision to try it out. She gave me a prescription drop and my eye was clear by the time I went to sleep. She performed an eye exam and even educated me to why my eyes get irritated so easily. I'd refer any of my friends and family to go to Westchester Eye center for their eyecare needs. read more

There's ample parking, and as soon as you enter building it's on the left. I needed prescription sunglasses [I already have the prescription] and was in and out in 15 min. Jennifer has an incredible eye, maximizing my options within my aesthetic preferences. I previously visited 2 other optometrists closeby and had no luck. The options at Westchester Eyecar are way better than others in the area! They also replaced the nosepads on my regular glasses for free. :) 5-star business all around. read more

I've worn glasses for almost 25 years, and Dr. T is the best optometrist I've been to, hands down. In addition to her pleasant demeanor, she is clearly extremely knowledgeable, which made me feel comfortable and confident every step of the way. I particularly appreciated that she didn't do what every other optometrist has always done, where they show 2 consecutive images and then ask you which is clearer--A or B. Instead she showed both images at the same time, which was so much simpler, more efficient, and just better for me because in the past, I often had to go back and forth between A & B repeatedly to try and figure out which was actually better, and then I never really knew if I was right. Now I feel like I have the most accurate prescription I've ever had. in fact Dr. T discovered that my previous prescription was too strong! The office staff is professional and approachable. They are very nice, the place is very clean, they got my glasses in reasonable time to the specifications, I guess, I needed. Unlike AmericasBest, this facility gave me a pair that have the specifications that I asked for.
