Steak ranchero- where is the Tbone?
Ann W.

Normally, I wait a day or two to post reviews and think of as many things that went well to post. Tonight is an exception. We went on a Saturday night, hours were to 9pm. We barely walked in at 8:12 and were asked to turn off the open sign above us. The place was quiet with the exception of one decent sized group. Another couple had walked in right before us and one was anxiously looking for their bill. We ordered the Chorizo dip, steak ranchero, Carnegie asada, one crispy beef taco and a tamales. We rate on steak, taco and tamale when we try a New Mexican restaurant. Steaks were fingernail thin, overcooked on one side and grey on the other. Tamale dry and taco flavorless. The dip was all cheese and a crumble of chorizo with the smallest basket of chips ever. Salsa was watered down as well. Basic beans and old rice or so it seemed. Even the corn tortillas lacked any depth or flavor. It looked like husband and wife owners who were there had absolutely no care for their customers and it was passed on to the wait staff. No refills, no checking in, no carry out box offering. Check placed as soon as we took 2 bites and staff sitting in booths (jackets on) staring at us to hurry up. Definitely NOT where you want to go for any occasion much less a weekend night out.

Cortadillo. Steak with the spicy red sauce. My favorite dish!

Food and service is almost always on point. I haven't really had a bad experience here since I've been dining at this establishment. Very comfy inside and welcoming.

Taco salad with chicken

Service was slow like molasses, came in with low expectations as we could not find anything to eat in the area at 7:30pm on a sunday night. We ordered guacamole with pico de gallo, chicken soup, chiles poblanos (filled with cheese and spinach) which came with a side of refried beans and rice. A taco salad with chicken and 2 chicken quesadillas. All the food was basic mexican fare, no thrills, the beers are cheap. All the servings are pretty big, so no room for dessert. The server was friendly, all in all it was filling and very inexpensive for a party of 5ppl.

Bad service. Bad food. Waited an hour and a half for a huge disappointment. I mean how do you screw up a dang taco?

There were two kinds and both were good. We really liked the one as it had a Smokey flavor. We ordered a watermelon margarita and a beer. Beer was ice cold and probably the best watermelon margarita we have had. We also ordered a chimichanga and a burrito loco. Bothe were delicious and we could only eat half of each entree. The prices were fair and the service and food were great.

Pedro's had gone downhill significantly since last summer and I don't plan on ever coming back…read more First off, the hosts were extremely rude and gave so much attitude for no reason. The server was very incompetent and got at least one aspect of each person in my party's order wrong. After waiting over 30 minutes, my order was with the wrong side. I told the employee who brought the food and he said he'd bring back the correct side. He never brought it, and our actual server never once came to our table until he brought the checks so i just didn't get the correct side. My entree was the Burrito Loco with Birria. It was pretty good but the meat had an odd flavor. He also made us late to our event because he took 15 minutes to bring the checks after we asked. As a previous host and server, I tipped $0 so that's REALLY saying something. The Kids Quesadillas came raw. Like the cheese was uncooked completely. The corn didn't come correctly either. Nasty corn on the cobb instead of the promised street corn.

Chips on the thicker side but hot and crispy. I had the Burrito Locos and requested one chicken and one steak and it comes with rice and beans. The chicken was ok to me. Cooked but not much flavor. However, the steak was perfectly done and seasoned. The rice and beans were also very good. Overall I'd give my dish a 4. Next time I'll get two steak burritos. My wife had the Two Chili Rellenos. She said it was very well done. Beefy, cheesy and tasty is how she actually put it. She gives her dish a 5. Overall a very good and satisfying experience. We will return and recommend you try it as well.
