El Super isn't my go-to Hispanic market, even though it's in my neighborhood, but it does a few things well. The produce and fruit selection is a little limited, but the quality is usually good. My main issue is the pricing on essentials, which can feel high, especially when a lot of the shelf items are generic or off-brand products I usually pass on. For things like paper goods, I'd still rather shop at Costco for better quality and value. The bakery is worth it for pan dulce, but I'm not a big fan of the cakes since the frosting feels more like whipped topping and decoration than flavor. The deli and ready-to-eat food are a strong point though--tasty, solid portions, and fairly priced. Service has always been friendly, and I've never had a problem here. The ambiance is what you'd expect from a typical Hispanic market: busy, familiar, and sometimes crowded. 10/6/24 Waited a while for staff to serve, (shrimp) so i left. When I returned after 5 minutes, some more customers came to wait, it was NOT boding well for me. Got avocados (2 for a $1), tomatoes & an onion. This was going to be a quick trip but everyone else is on "Sunday driver mode". Got up to the checkout & it felt like this was going to be painful. The customer in front of me saw that I only had 3 items on hand but proceeded to just go & load the conveyor belt. Any other courteous person would've offered that I go ahead, not this one. I usually do, too. Oh well. Lots of fresh produce, seafood department looks decent. Would I return (given the slow & less responsive service at the meat & seafood department)? Probably not unless I am desperate. Parking is ample but shared, pavement is littered with garbage. Thankfully it's not my go to markets to go & shop. read more

Today is Wednesday so it's fruit special day. Prices were high, but that's everywhere because of what's going on in the world. I just bought a little bit of stuff, but the checkout was really fast even though today is the first when everyone gets their checks and it was a Wednesday. But I first came in there was a line but they beat it down pretty quick. The service was OK. Nothing special just went in and back out the roles at one Wife likes five for two dollars looked pretty good today. The ones on the rack were small but the ones in the bin were still normal size the place was clean. There was a lot of inventory being put out still. Parking was very difficult because they were very busy. So I had to park in front of CVS. But the cart froze right at the exit of their parking lot. So I had to bring the car over to my stuff. No big deal. I know a lot of people these days the homeless steal the carts so they have to lock them. read more

This is the most inconsiderate establishment of any super markets I have ever shopped at!! The customer service is a flat out JOKE!! You have 11 registers, 4 of them are open, yet and still the lines are clearly in the aisle that you shop in, the MGR's are in the office joking around and laughing like clowns knowing that the lines have an average of 15 plus people in each of the 4 lines that are open.. I'm not going to complain out loud, but I just had an ICD Defibrillator installed a week ago, no one came out of the office to lesson the lines at all, and this isn't the 1st or 2nd or 3rd time this has happened at this particular location, I'll just do NORTHGATE From now on! I would give it 4 stars but I am a bit saddened that most of the organic section is gone. They have some organic options but I guess most of their focus is on low prices. I just got harassed by security for trying to take 6 cans of pineapple juice to my car in a basket. I was not told by the cashier, nor was there clearly visible signage that noted I could not use the basket to take these heavy items to my car. Security ran after me as I exited and insisted I show him my receipt even though they put "PAID" stickers on items that have been paid for. As I was getting my receipt he rummaged between the cans to confirm I didn't steal anything. I understand if theft is a regular occurrence at this store, but this is not the way to handle this or treat your customers. I'd also like to note that this is not a store like Costco where it's expected that you'll be required to show your receipt to a team member upon exit. I started off on the fruits and vegetables, nothing was stacked together in a presentable manner everything looked like it was thrown on there. Also all the fruits in vegetables looked as if they were growing is someone's backyard none of them looked appealing to eat it all looked old already .. they're selection in other items throughout the store were very basic they didn't have a variety of things to choose from.... it wasn't until I got to the meat dept. Where I decided just to leave everything there and leave... the odor was awful the meat didn't look fresh and I overheard a couple saying the same thing while overlooking the meat through the glass.... The selection throughout the store was extremely limited. Great if you only are interested in Mexican items, but not so much if you're looking for a store like Ralph's selection.
