The thing that really sold us the first time we went was our server. He was absolutely amazing, and we love getting him whenever we come in. Honestly, the service here has been great every time. All of the servers and the kids who work here are so friendly and attentive, and I have never been treated badly even once. And the homemade flour tortillas!!! They come out hot and fresh, and they are seriously to die for. I cannot get enough of their queso dip with those tortillas. It is probably my favorite thing there. Their salsa is also wonderful. I love the birria and the chile rellenos, and Sean always gets the chicken fajitas. Everything we've had has been really good. The beer can be hit or miss sometimes, and we have occasionally had to send one back and try something else, but they are always cold and refreshing once we get the right one. We go here for date nights, take friends, meet family there, and sometimes just stop in because we're craving Mexican food. It's just a really great environment and a place where we always enjoy ourselves. We absolutely love Puerto Vallarta and will definitely keep coming back. We've lived in Yelm, Washington for two years now, and we've given this place way more chances than…read moreit deserved. We've been here at least 5-6 times. The very first time, the owner was our server and the service was actually pretty good. The food was mediocre, but we figured we'd come back and give it another shot. Unfortunately, that first experience has been the exception, not the rule. We are huge wing fans and so naturally we ordered the wings. They were freezer burnt and they were the full wing the flat and the drum hooked together. We were not a fan of them. We've stopped in just for a couple of beers while waiting for our dog to get groomed next door, and even those visits have been uncomfortable. We've dealt with bartenders who were rude and completely unfriendly, and servers who seem to forget you're even there. We came here for Valentine's Day two years ago with a reservation, expecting a nice, romantic dinner. Instead, it was an absolute disaster. The staff looked completely overwhelmed, nobody seemed to know what was going on, our expense steaks were over cooked badly, we were ignored for long stretches, never offered refills, and the entire dinner was a huge disappointment. But we kept trying. Most recently, we brought two friends here because we really wanted to give it one more chance. We actually warned them not to have high expectations. Unfortunately, the service was just as bad. We were ignored, never got beer refills, and the food was terrible. Our friends left saying they never wanted to come back. Today, while waiting for our dog to be groomed, we stopped in for a couple of beers and ordered the JoJos from the happy hour menu. Six or so potato wedges that were overcooked and just not very good, with mediocre barbecue sauce and ranch. There is a new server here whom we've never had before, and honestly, she's been better than anyone we've dealt with here in the past. She's still pretty slow, but she is easily the best service we've had since that very first visit when the owner served us. And ironically, that same owner has completely ignored us every time we've been back and hasn't said a word to us since our first visit. At this point, we've tried enough times to know this isn't a one-off bad night. The service is consistently awful, the food is mediocre at best, and the prices don't match what you're getting. We genuinely try to support local businesses, which is why we kept coming back and giving this place another chance. But after six or so visits and multiple disappointing experiences, we're done. I absolutely cannot recommend this place. If you're looking for overpriced, mediocre food and consistently terrible service, this is your place! Otherwise, there are plenty of other local places that deserve your money.
