I'm glad I went through the drive-through because I read the reviews after and think I would prefer not to go inside. I will say it looks kind of sketchy from the street, but I knew the food would probably be good. I was a bit perplexed when they gave me a pen and receipt to sign and write in a tip in the drive-through though. The employee was very friendly, and the prices are reasonable. I was overwhelmed by the extensive options, but I settled on a breakfast burrito with egg, potato, and chorizo for $7.25. I thought it was good with the salsa they gave. Nothing super special. Okay...five stars is a lot, I know. The location itself is probably only 2-3 stars, but the food...and the smiling exuberant lady at the drive through...bump it up. If you want homemade Mexican food from people who clearly care about the food and the customers they serve, give it a try. They have daily specials that are still the same generous serving size as the regular menu item, but at a nice discount. Ask for the queso with taco meat. Not a menu item but there's SO much meat it's unbelievable. Reasonable prices and nice people...and 100% local. Great combination!!! read more

I ordered the Pork chop breakfast special. It was amazing! Pork chops were so juicy. Many things to choose from on the menu. I highly recommend the cheese quesadilla, the taco salad with ground beef and the cheese enchiladas. One of our favorite places to go eat at. Staff is nice and professional. I am currently sick after eating there ... on top of the fact I was charged double and then some for one plate ! I have food poisoning two hrs later just after eating there . I smelled something off almost like bleach after I had already finished one taco unfortunately. Please go to literally any other restaurant in town and it will be better . DONT EAT HERE. When I called she was very rude and hung up on me so I called back and they didn't want to say who hung up the phone she spoke perfect English the other lady not to much but she was nice the one who spoke English was very rude and she's the one who hung up on me and wouldn't allow me to speak to the owner and know the owners name . I had the cactus & egg, ham & egg, and chorizo & egg breakfast tacos. The tacos are kinda large and kinda bland. Overall they're fine for a quick bite, but I wasn't super excited about the flavors (or lack thereof). We went here for breakfast a couple of days ago. I really enjoyed my meal. I had the chorizo and eggs dish. It came w homemade tortillas (2) refried beans and potato chunks. All was cooked well. Loved the chorizo sausage that arrived w the eggs and cheese in an attractive plate form. The place is homey but very inviting. They have lunch specials every day. The salsa was yummy to my tastes but does have cilantro which some people can't stand. My wife had never tried chorizo but loved the taste when she tried some on my plate. It was very close to the hospital where I had 5 appointments. This meal was very hearty and kept me going till mid afternoon and all the business at the hospital had been done. Tea was decent. Asked for chips and salsa and not sure we were charged extra as it was breakfast time. Place seemed very popular w the locals. Look forward to going back real soon. read more

My favorite Mexican place. My kids and I eat here 5 times a week, if not more. The service is great. The drive-through is fast. All of all the food is awesome. The salsa, tortillas, and chips are all made fresh on site. I usually get the Jalisco breakfast or breakfast tacos and they are both amazing. For lunch or dinner you can't beat the fajitas and their enchiladas. If you're looking for something spicy try the green sauce. It's spot on!! My son who is gluten free has no problem finding something he loves to eat here. read more

I apparently didn't answer a question fast enough for her because she made a very loud snarky remark as she walked away, offending both me and my grandmother. When we brought the issue up, nothing was said on the matter. She then proceeded to bring what we asked for and slid it to us (since it's in a bottle) and walked off without another word! Jalisco breakfast tacos are a must for my family when we are in my hometown of Temple. My wife gets grumpy if we miss on any trip home. I've been going here for years, but I guess I never got around to writing a review before for some reason. It's easily overlooked due to its tiny size. In short, they have the best Mexican food in Temple. Their enchiladas are perfect, whichever variety you chose, moist, flavorful and cheesy, with a sauce that compliments the flavors without overwhelming. Crispy tacos are stuffed to the brim with meat before you add the toppings the way you like them, as they are provided on the side on the plate. Rice and beans are tasty, not the bland, dry stuff you get at the typical greasy joints in the area. They have daily specials, always a bargain on the menu. The staff is very nice and attentive, never leaving you hanging waiting for a drink refill or special request, but they don't but you to death either. They also have the best salsa around and great chips, and they will refill them any time you want more. Great food and good value in a modest, clean location. Excellent food! Went for dinner, late-ish. The chips and salsa were a tip off that the food would be very good. The chips were very crisp and light. The salsa was perfectly spiced and fire roasted (spicier than any I've had in half a dozen other central TX restaurants, but not too hot.) We decided to try the Texas Fajitas (the special that day), which were steak, chicken and shrimp, which came with good refried beans, rice, Pico de Gallo, and guacamole. ..all for 6.99!!!! I walked in to order some breakfast tacos this morning. The server basically flat out ignored me. I stood at the register over 10 minutes. She was doing everything she could do except take my order. Got the 5 mini taco plate instead of churro beans I got refried, with a side of rice. The rice was good, the tacos had ZERO flavor!! This is a great little Mexican restaurant. It's a no-nonsense place: clean, plenty of tables, good service. Don't come here for fancy decorations & such.
