This restaurant is tucked away in a small little strip mall, along Highway 52 in Dacono. From the outside, it looks like it is closed as the windows appear to be boarded up. However, inside very colorful, attentive, wait staff with booth's and tables, and a section for a private party. The food overall is pretty decent. Good spices and flavor and plentiful. The House Tortilla Chips come with salsa which is delicious. Try the Al Pastor Tacos and or an ale carte burrito with green chili. read more

Great place. The portion size is very good. The chile relleno is wonderful. I suggest the hard. Staff was quick and attentive and the food was just wonderful. I am a big eater and still could. Great food but strange experience tonight! I shared a margarita with my 21 year old daughter. She was carded, all good. As we are leaving, we are chased to the car (older lady, assume the owner) to see what was in the to go cup (Horchata she just poured) When I asked what that was about she got angry, mumbled and walked away...wtf! 3rd time here this morning..1st time really good ,2nd time not so much portions were smaller and Luke warm AND THIS time the 3rd time I'm not sure I was at the same restaurant .Sunday morning very busy short wait to be expected after we were seated almost 30 mins yo take all our drink orders. Now it's almost 1hour & 23 minutes and still no one has taken our order .I had to ask one of the wait staff if we could place our order now its 1hr & 48 mins and the group before us is starting to rec their food .we still have our menus no silverware and our drinks are mt..17 mins later and our food starts to arrive all but one order .she didn't get her order Till we were done eating( She ask for a to go box before her food arrived cause we all were almost done)and HER asking TWICE ..HOW MUCH LONGER. At this time we're putting on our jackets and a waitress ask me how was everything and I replied if you were doing your job you would already know the answer to your question..7 in our group..no special orders or drinks , items right off the menu. I've been around the restaurant business all my life .we all have bad days no matter what we do...understandable. but they knew they dropped the ball and to avoid asking us how things were or at least trying to keep a future long time customer by a kind gesture they just tried to avoid us ...probably won't be back & will share my experience.... read more

We're long time patrons (years). We've always had great food and service. However, we went last night and things were different. The service was less than desirable. A simple bean and cheese burrito was made incorrectly. I always order the raw oysters, and they have always been outstanding...but this time, they were horrible...but we still were charged full price for them. We were made to feel like we were an inconvenience...and as a result, I indicated that we may not return...and they appeared to not care about that. El Taco was initially a great discovery but disappoints with mediocre quality, surly service, and charging excessively for items that usually come standard with a meal. My recent order of fajitas To GO was delivered by curt and abrupt staff. I've been eating fajitas for thirty years and expect a side of guacamole, salsa, and sour cream unless the menu indicates otherwise. After paying $24 for basic fajitas, I was charged $2.11 for 1 oz of sour cream. 35 cents, a dollar, is normal for a side of sour cream or salsa at a hole in the wall place. This isn't exactly a fancy restaurant in a booming metropolitan area. The carry out bag had spilled food which seeped into my tortillas turning them to mush. I picked 6 small bones out of the meat in my soup, and, most of the meat was covered in gristle or fat. . read more

Getting one star because I can't leave less!! To start off the service is absolutely terrible. Should have gotten up and left after waiting so long for someone to wait on us after we were seated but the menu looked very good, unfortunately it wasn't. I had seafood dish that was $25.99, supposed to be with fresh fish, shrimp, mussels, calamari, baby Octopus and imitation crab. There was more imitation crab than anythingand it was so overcooked that it was tasteless mush. Shrimp were so small and overcooked you needed a steak knife to cut them. The mussel and Octopus were so overcooked they shrunk down and you couldn't find them and the calamari was like leather. The only thing not overcooked was the over abundance of peppers and onions. The side dish is fried potatoes was just cold and greasy and the slices Avocado came out as guacamole undated Instead. Never saw it waitress after we ordered and she ignored me when ever i tried to get her attention. The other 2 meals that came out conservatively 10 minutes after mine were also overcooked. What more can i say. DO NOT GO HERE YOU WILL BE HAPPY YOU DIDN'T!!! read more

This fine establishment is in Dacono Colorado and now one of my favorite restaurants, everything I've eaten here has been the best! Including the chips and salsa! I got the Camerone enchilada plate, huge amount of food also so it was so great! Oh p.s. The food is good we went on a Friday and they do try to work quick even if it is busy the tacos de alambrey are really tasty. But be warned the short young girl with the low pony tail was really rude and gave us attitude, she threw our cups down and acts like she owns the place. The young boys however were nice. I blame lying reviewers for me ever trying this place. I would run from this place! I so want to give this place a -5 star. Worst service ever. Food was gross and cold. Had the Molcajete bowl and it was the worst. Chicken was cold, rock hard and dry. The steak and pork were also the same. It took FOREVER to get our food, 1 hour and we were one of three groups here on Saturday at 7pm. The waitress was super rude to me and my wife the whole time we were here. We could only get one round of drinks because the waitress ignored us and also kept forgetting to get our drinks. I'm not really sure why people rate this place so high? My best guess would be they keep mistaking this place for Burrito Delight or Three Margaritas? There is absolutely no way they have eaten here and lived to talk about it. I think people look for the Mexican place they ate at and can't find the right place, so they just choose this one to write about. It's also funny how the people reviewing this place live no where near it and have way better choices in their own neighborhood? We went in last night to pick up take out. We ordered the combo plate. The meal was inedible. One bite into the Chile rellano it tasted tasted rotten, like dirty mushrooms. The enchilada and burrito were no better. This morning my boyfriend started vomiting and got the runs. It has gone on all day. I have all symptoms of food poisoning.
