First timer, strolling down Main Street.. I love a place where the staff is having just as much fun as the patrons and the drinks are talking to me nicely!! Clean and organized indoor/outdoor seating. Music on point to catch all the vibes; and at an appropriate volume to boot! Swing through for a HH Marg, light apps and check the scene.. Cheers!

Service was decent and inside was a modern cantina. I got the Tacos Al Carbon with carnitas and overall I would say it was pretty good. If I come back I would get the tacos again definitely!

Came here yesterday for Cinco de Mayo! It was packed, but the staff was still very friendly and worked tirelessly. Really appreciate the energy to try to satisfy all the customers. The chips and salsa is delicious. Salsa has a slight kick but was super flavorful. Got the premium margarita and it was well worth it :) Unfortunately the made entrées didn't meet my expectations. Got the steak fajitas and the meat was over cooked and tough for my taste. Mole also wasn't as flavorful as I had hoped. The tamales was okay. The smother was good, but the pork tamale itself didn't have as much flavor either. Hoping it was just an off day given how busy they were. Overall I'd give this place a 3.5 stars. Definitely a place to go and grab drinks and catch up with friends.

Wapos has only been open for a couple of months and we just moved to the area, but we've been in twice now over the last few weeks. We've also been to the Azteca that's right down the road previously and since we noticed a new Mexican restaurant entered the chat, we decided to stop by for lunch. After reading a few reviews, I wasn't surprised to learn that this place used to be a tavern. There is still a pretty good bar area in the newly renovated space as well as a good-sized dining area. The tables are spaced well so it doesn't feel super cramped if it's a busy time of the year. The space is clean and seems to be well organized. There is also a patio out back that I'm sure would be super cool to hang out on in the nicer months of the year. Both times we've been in we were helped immediately, and I believe our experiences have been with the general manager, which is cool! He is a super friendly, personable guy and is very welcoming. The menu is pretty large and has a lot of the typical dishes you see at many Mexican restaurants: enchiladas, burritos, tacos, an a la carte menu, and so on. You're given a generous helping of chips with some pretty bomb salsa when you're seated, which I love. I love salsa and spicy foods so much, so I was pleasantly surprised to realize the salsa is kinda spicy! Yay! The first time we visited, I ordered the chili verde enchiladas and my bf went for carnitas tacos. The wait between ordering and receiving the meals was quick, and presentation of the dishes has been on point. They're served on half sheet trays, which I think is pretty neat, too lol. While the flavors were pretty good, both times we ordered I swear the dishes were not really all that hot (temperature wise); not that they were cold, but you'd usually expect the food to be steaming and have to blow on your bites before eating and these dishes were not. I'm not sure if it was a fluke situation but I'll be back again to update my thoughts on this, I'm sure. Price point is reasonable, service is friendly, atmosphere is clean, and the food is pretty good. All things that get a thumbs up in my book.

We got the Birdhouse Flight to start--guac, five-cheese queso, and their birdhouse salsa (a tasty, mild tomatillo). Seriously, it's the best way to start your meal. For dinner, we all had ramen. I went for the Hellfire with extra bok choy. This ramen is no joke. If you want something spicy, this is it. The chili sauce, flakes, and oil really bring the heat. The kids got the Tonkotsu, which was amazing as usual--great broth and super tender meat. I had my spicy ramen with a Juicy Bits from WeldWerks, perfect combo. Seriously, it's some of the best ramen and service around North Denver. Whether it's for a special day or just a chilly night. Birdhouse is always good. I totally recommend it!

So it was shocking that I found such a good bowl out here in Erie. I got the Hellfire Ramen, a tonkotsu-based ramen served with their house spicy sauce, chili oil, pork shoulder, and a soft boiled egg. The broth was rich and flavorful, the spice level was perfect (quiet hot but still maintaining a good balance of flavors), and the pork shoulder was tender but still has a bit of nice toothsomeness. Overall, this was an excellent bowl of ramen comparable to any of the top spots in Denver. The only slight downside is that the broth was just a tough too salty for my liking, and I would've preferred a soy marinated egg over a soft boiled egg. They have other ramen here was well, such as a chicken-based shio ramen, a regular tonkotsu, and a Thai curry ramen. I definitely would return to try the other ramen. If the other items on this menu is as tasty, I wouldn't hesitate to give them 5 stars.

Ours was about 45 minutes. They ended up seating us at a shared high-top table with another couple, which honestly wasn't a big deal. For appetizers, I ordered the shishito peppers with this orange marmalade-style dipping sauce, and WOW -- those were phenomenal. The peppers were fried perfectly with just the right crispiness and a little salt, and that sweet orange sauce paired with them so well. Definitely one of the best things we ordered. My friends also got queso, salsa, and ceviche. The ceviche was fresh and delicious, but the salsa was way too hot for me personally. I took one bite and couldn't handle another. For my entrée, I ordered the carne asada, and unfortunately it just was not what I expected. Instead of the thinner, flavorful steak I'm used to, it was a thick chunk of meat that was really chewy, fatty, and honestly lacked flavor. It just didn't work for me at all. The rice and beans were decent though, so no complaints there. The service was okay, but our server definitely seemed overwhelmed or maybe just uninterested. We often didn't see her for long stretches of time, so when she did come by, we had multiple things to ask for. It kind of felt like we were a burden anytime we needed something, which put a little damper on the experience. Overall, I'd probably give this place a 6/10. There were definitely some highlights, especially the appetizers and the atmosphere, and I'd still be willing to go back and try something different because I don't want one disappointing entrée to completely ruin the place for me.

When looking at the menu, the prices were outrageous, but thought the food must be really good! The restaurant doors were locked when we arrived around 11:30, even though their website said they opened at 10:00. I like to support local restaurants but this one was horribly disappointing! We were the only customers in the restaurant and service was extremely slow. There was only one employee we saw, the one who unlocked the door for us and turned out to be our waitress. She was polite, but very slow in getting our drink order, food order, and ticket. I could have understood understaffing, but as mentioned, we were the only customers in the place. When our food came, I was almost embarrassed for our waitress. The food hardly filled our plates. I ordered a chicken dish where the chicken breast had been split in half. It was tough and hard to cut and and chew. It was maybe the size of a small burger, very small and about 1/4 of an inch thick! According to the menu description, it was supposed to be marinated. It tasted like the "marinade" was ketchup mixed with a little Tabasco. Other plates were very skimpy on food. Burritos and enchiladas were small and almost almost laid flat on the plates. I guess I could deal with it better if the cost was about ¼ of the price we paid. No drinks for 4 totaled, with tip, around $80.00!! Will never go to this place again! I typically don't do reviews but this experience was completely "over the top" bad in all areas. We all left feeling cheated, and hungry! Don't waste your money here!
