Carne asada plate was delicious! Free chips with salsa. Lots of food for one order so shared it with the wife. There is a misleading sign next to the table that states that you will have 3% deducted from bill if paying cash. It also states that 3% will be added if paying card. However, they charged me full price with nothing deducted from the bill when I paid cash. The server was aware of this as it looks like everyone points it out to him every time. So be aware you will not be getting 3% deducted when paying cash.
This place is pretty busy and the food comes out fast so the quality isn't that great. We ordered and I went to the restroom and our food was out. Per our Airbnb host quality goes down during busy season as they are trying to get people in and out. The flauta was burnt on the ends and it was pretty dry. They said they couldn't do pork in it because it falls out and then I got the pork enchilada which was fine. The fries were terrible they were soggy and didn't taste cooked. My husband got the burrito and he said it was okay.
This place was recommended by the hotel concierge. I should say, this place is good! The service was fast. I noticed they have a lot of staff working from receptionist to waiters. The food came out real hot! The food is good. I ordered the combinaciones biria.. love it. My husband ordered the tacos, he was impressed too. The place is family-oriented!
Great spot in Page. I'd say food options are slim in this town. Service was great, food was delicious. Their michelada is solid. It's a clean convenient spot.
This Mexican restaurant is a solid choice for a casual meal. The food is flavorful and satisfying, with classic dishes done well. Tacos, enchiladas, and sides hit the mark, and the portions are generous. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and the service is friendly and attentive. Not the fanciest spot in town, but definitely dependable for a tasty Mexican meal.
I almost wasn't going to leave a review but decided I should at least give my opinion to warn others... the reviews on yelp seemed solid enough to try this place. Everything was less than mediocre at best. Chips: very stale. Salsa: way too much cilantro (and I like cilantro). Then I order something simple, Veggie Enchiladas. It was composed completely of frozen veggie mix (string beans, lima beans, cauliflower, carrots, etc)! Think high school cafeteria quality. I had almost ordered Veggie Fajitas. I wonder if they would have just dumped this mix into a skillet! The best thing on the plate was the rice. Service was fast but... scolding hot plate (not warm) was merely dropped off at my table without mentioning this. I found this out when I tried to move it. Ouch! Really no reason for it to be this hot. I was never checked on. I don't usually care about this (I'll ask if I need something) but other waiters seemed to be attentive to other tables. I did finally ask another waiter for my check. Lastly, middle of the night wake-up call and my stomach tolerates most things.
Disappointed. This was recommended by hotel employees and trip advisor. It was not a good experience. I was met by a nice host and the wait staff was amiable. I was unable to eat in the restaurant. There was a pervasive odor that was extremely unpleasant. My booth was right next to a portable ac unit and was not too far from the restroom. Perhaps the odor emanated from one of those sources. No idea. Trust me. It was bad. I placed an order to go and got out of there as quickly as possible. Upon returning to my hotel, I discovered that no cutlery or napkins were included. I was able to get a set from the hotel bar. I ordered tacos al carbon which came with rice and beans. I also ordered chips and salsa. I do not think the chips are homemade and the salsa was unremarkable. Not spicy or particularly fresh. The rice and beans had no seasoning. Perhaps adding table salt would have helped. But as I took my food to go that was not an option. The tacos were good. The meat was well prepared and the tortillas were tender and wonderful to eat. Again, however, it was under seasoned. There was some type of sauce smeared on the top of the tacos, but the sauce had no taste. They charged $29.00 for three tacos and tasteless rice and beans. I should have left as soon as I smelled the odor. Oh well, live and learn. My rec is to eat elsewhere.
(2/5) We stopped in hoping for some great Mexican comfort food, but the nachos left us a little disappointed. While there was plenty of cheese, it was way too much -- almost smothering everything else. There were barely any beans & not enough tomatoes for my personal liking, so the flavor ended up being kind of flat and one-dimensional. The salsa was just okay -- almost mild with only a tiny hint of heat. Service was a bit slow, but our waitress was friendly and the kitchen got the order right, which we appreciated. Overall, not terrible, but not a place we'd go back to for nachos. Overall, place is festive but cold use a deep cleaning.
3.5: first time in Page and not a bad place for a meal, with a large selection but not cheap prices and lackluster but relatively quick service. It looks a bit like a fast food place from the outside but it's a step up from there. They give you chips and salsa complimentary. The veggie quesadilla was "ok" but I didn't care that much since I was hungry: the filling was kind of spotty and the tortillas were a little hard. The steak tortillas were also ok. Service was quick but seemed disinterested, which again wasn't that important if you're just looking for food. If I lived in this area, I don't think I would return regularly but haven't tried anything else in Page either. Close to Antelope Canyon tours.
We found this restaurant while visiting Page, AZ. We walked in and were seated right away. They didn't look too busy at that time. The menu is huge and the tables and chairs are very colorful. We were given chips and salsa right away. For entrees, I got the enchilada suiza and my husband got the seafood fajitas. They were both large portions and tasty. The food came out very quickly as well. If you happen to be in Page, I would say this is a good place to try out.
So glad we came here after a very long drive and hiking. The wet burrito and the chimichanga were so good! The portions are very big so definitely great to share!
Mixed Experience at Tapatio - Great Guac, High Prices, and Spotty Service I've visited Tapatio in Page, AZ twice recently with a party of five. Our first visit was generally enjoyable. The fresh guacamole was excellent, and my friends raved about the birria. I ordered the molcajete, but personally didn't care for the flavor profile. Still, the experience was decent overall. The real shock came with the prices. In my opinion, nearly everything on the menu is 25-50% above market value without a noticeable difference in quality. For example, a soft drink costs $4.25 and only includes one refill. One couple in our group--visiting from Europe--suggested we return for a second visit. They don't have a local price reference and aren't as concerned about cost. On our return, the food was similar. Another great $15 bowl of guacamole, and my wife and I split the fajitas for two ($41). A single margarita ran $14. However, service took a major downturn. Our fajitas arrived without tortillas. When I asked, I was told they were on their way. I asked again after a few minutes--same response. Eventually, I turned around and saw seven servers standing around a computer, including ours. My wife finally had to walk to the kitchen herself before the tortillas were brought out. In summary: If you're okay with fairly good food, indifferent service, and inflated prices, this may be the place for you. For me, it was a disappointing return visit and probably our last.
Very pricey! Food quality very average. Service was spotty. Atmosphere was cool. Came here for dinner one night. The restaurant looks pretty cool, whimsical decor. The menu was extensive. Since this is the only restaurant with more affordable prices in town it was crowded. Ordered 2 entrees to share and they were average in terms of quality taste and portion size. I can get the same meal in California for half the price. Service was fast and efficient.
Good Mexican restaurant with large portions and tasty food. The inside is decorated in very colorful southwestern flair. They brought both salsa and a Mexican coleslaw with the complimentary tortilla chips. I was not used to coleslaw but it was super delicious on the chips! Signs say you only get one refill on chips and salsa before being charged. They had a very large menu. Here is what we ordered: The SEAFOOD MOLCAJETE was to die for! It had shrimp, octopus, fish, scallops...I can't remember it all. I am a huge octopus fan and this was tender! The dish was served flaming which made for a great show. It comes with beans, rice, guacamole, and sour cream along with tortillas so you can make tacos from the seafood treat. This is a big dish and was shared between myself and my daughter. You might just need some extra tortillas if sharing. CEVICHE DE CAMARON (shrimp) was enjoyed by my wife. It had a ton of cilantro in it, which is one of those flavors that you either love or hate, no in between. As a ceviche, the shrimp are not cooked with heat but rather with the acid in a lime juice marinade. That takes a little while so don't order this if you are in a hurry. read more

We came here on Cuarto de Mayo without realizing that it was the day before the big American Mexican food holiday. Not a bad choice since we didn't have to deal with the crowds. We had quick service and great tasting chips and salsa along with a marinated coleslaw type dip for the chips before our food came. I had a taco salad with ground beef, wife had the combo with a crispy relleno and enchilada, while daughter had a veggie burrito and her friend had a chicken taco salad. My daughter didn't like her veggie burrito as it seemed to contain "previously frozen Thanksgiving vegetables" (in her words). The décor inside the restaurant was pretty nice with lots of colors and very nice pictures on the backs of the seat benches and along the walls. Nicely done. Good service and good food. We are in Page visiting for the weekend and needed a place with vegetarian and seafood options since it's Good Friday, so we decided on coming here for dinner. We have been to the Flagstaff location and figured we would come support here as well. The busser had chips and salsa delivered before I was even seated! Talk about speedy service! Hubby ordered the seafood burrito, and the plate was GINORMOUS!! He really liked the tortilla, shrimp, and sauce, but wasn't a huge fan of the rest of the filling (not a fan of crab in burritos but he'salso used to getting beef or pork when we go to Mexican restaurant). He normally doesn't like Spanish rice but he enjoyed the flavor on this style. He ordered a 24oz horchata and drank every last drop! I have very limited food options as I'm doing an elimination plan to figure out some gut sensitivities, so I appreciate the server being so patient with me and all my strange requests. I ordered the veggie fajitas with no tortillas, a green salad (no croutons or cheese), and a side of cilantro and limes. I had to pick the corn out of the fajitas and rice, but I devoured everything else! I love that the beans were whole (vegetarian) and not spicy! My party and I had came here STARVING for a late lunch after doing a Lower Antelope Canyon hike as well as checking out Horseshoe Bend too. (Late October 2021) El Tapatio has a HUGE MENU and was super busy when we had arrived around 2PM. My friend and I had gotten 2 large CORONA MICHELADA's while another 2 had ordered a DRAGON MARGARITA (blood orange?) to share. Between the 6 of us, we had ordered BEEF FAJITAS, a SEAFOOD? MOLCAJETE, and a TAPATIO FLAMING. Each of these came with a large plate of rice, beans, guacamole, sour cream, and pico de gallo except the tapatio flaming came with 2 plates.. BEEF FAJITAS is beef strips marinated in their special sauce served on a sizzling hot plate with sautéed onions, tomatoes, and bell peppers TAPATIO FLAMING consists of boneless chicken breast, seasoned grilled skirt steak, fried bacon-wrapped jumbo prawns, green and red bell peppers (saw another table get it and the smell was intoxicating, so we had to get it HAHA) SEAFOOD? MOLCAJETE stated it includes shrimp, abalone, octopus, and fish sauteed with onions, mushrooms, bell peppers in a special sauce topped with melted cheese Reason why i said it stated is because we couldnt find this "abalone". LOL oh well... Service was pretty good. Food was probably the best meal we had during our stay in Page? We had went to another Mexican restaurant day before down the street and this was definitely better overall. Service was good. Food was good. Excellent service, great sumptuous food and ambiance generally on the loud side due to many people eating here! For those with nut allergies: always make sure you ask which food has nuts. My son's Al pastor had nuts and he had an allergic reaction. 3.80 stars- because of the food scare. I would come back again but next time with a lot of caution! read more
Loved every moment of our experience at El Tapatio! My party of 3 came the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving, around 5:45, and was seated immediately, but by the time we left, I overheard the hostess tell someone the wait was 30-45 minutes. Seemed like lots of folks were in town traveling for Thanksgiving. The first thing you notice is that it's so colorful everywhere you look. It's not just the walls but also the chairs and even the tables that are colorfully decorated with various images. When you get seated, they automatically give you free chips and two types of salsa on the house! They even gave us refills for all three when we finished the first round. I loved their colorful drink menu, with all the images of cocktails and drinks printed on top, and went with the house margarita ($9.50). It was served in a big glass and was one of the best margaritas I've had in a while! Next order of business was food. The menu is quite extensive and can be overwhelming if you're not sure what you want. I decided to go with the mojarra ($20.25), which is a whole fried tilapia served with rice and beans on the side. It was good but a bit on the bland side. Nothing that some salt couldn't fix though! Someone in my group got the camarones al mojo de ajo ($20.25), which is shrimp stir fried with mushrooms. I tried a couple pieces and both the shrimp and mushrooms were very flavorful. Another friend ordered the veggie chimichanga ($14.50) and liked it as well, though he said the burrito was smaller than expected. A lot of the filling he wanted inside, like the rice and avocado, was served separately on the plate instead of inside the burrito. Overall we left happy and satisfied. We loved our experience here. It was probably our favorite meal in Page and we often think about the authentic food we had at El Tapatio. Whenever we try other Mexican spots, we compare it to El Tapatio. It was lively when we walked in for dinner and we really enjoyed the bustle, music, and seeing other happy diners. The menu is huge and it was very difficult to decide what to order. I ended up going for a trio platter because I couldn't just pick one thing. Turns out, portions are huge too! I will definitely return when I'm in town again. read more

This place was great!!! A big group of us (12+) but they handled it beautifully!!! Staff is amazing. I got their chili verde enchiladas (with rice/beans) and it was soooo good!!! There was literally nothing left on my plate after! Chips and salsa was also a hit along with my margarita. I can't recommend this place enough and I will definitely be back for lunch/dinner when I'm in Page read more
Love it here. So much that we went two nights in a row! Enormous portions. Anything you can think of, they have it. Equally gigantic drinks - including the ones with the mini Coronas upside down! Love the salsa that comes with the starter chips; the guac is awesome. read more
We stopped here after a long day of hiking. Service was fast, beer was cold and the restrooms were clean. The fresh chopped "slaw" with cilantro was separate from salsa and was great with chips. The veggie fajitas were a complete surprise with lima beans and corn, and the beans are not refuted beans but instead a bean soup. I got the arroz con Hawaiian and kudos to the chef! Mushrooms, pineapple, tender meat, pineapple, fajita veggies and a magical dark sauce smothered in cheese. I closed my eyes a moment and savored this one. read more

Their style of Mexican cuisine is aligned to what I prefer. Well seasoned and bold. Love seafood? If so, get the Seafood Molcajete. It's a winner. I love my food served hot and this is it! Tapitio Enchiladas is also great. Given I was pleased with both dishes, could you imagine how all of their other dishes measure up? I bet they are as great. The only negative was our waiter wasn't attentive. I've seen other waiters providing better service so don't let it discourage you. I was left with a lighter liquor bill and I didn't mind at all. read more
Since we've made our way into Arizona, we were craving some good family-style Mexican cuisine and lucked out with this one almost literally down the street from where we're staying. Even on a week night the place was packed and buzzing! We put our names on the wait list but only had to wait about 10 mins tops. The complimentary chips and salsa were so good I almost over-filled myself with both the first and the second baskets I asked for! But we had ordered the seafood fajitas and camarones a la diabla so we dive into those as soon as they arrived. They were delicious! Food: We ordered the vegetarian fajita veggies and enchiladas. They served an appetizer of nacho chips + salsa + coleslaw and it tasted amazing. The fajita veggies was the better among the two items we ordered. It came with a side of beans, tomato lettuce salad and rice + tortas. The enchilada came with a similar set of sides without the tortilla and the enchiladas were drizzled with tomatillo sauce. The quantity is honestly a lot for a single person. The quantity of a single item was enough for the two of us and we even noticed another couple in a nearby table remarking that they should have ordered a single item for both of them. Service: The service was excellent, the server respected our preferences - vegetarian, hot water, need spoons. They kept refilling our salsa and the coleslaw many times upon our request, as we finished them. Ambiance: The place had cheerful mexcian music playing in the background and was bright and colorful. It made us very happy after spending several hours in the cold. Overall, we had a hearty and a content meal. I would strongly recommend this place for vegetarians and vegans. read more
It's alright coming here for a filling bite. I took my food to-go and they were quick with it. The food has room for improvement and was fairly average though. More like a 3.5 stars for me, but it may just be high standards from me, as I come from LA where I'm used to cheap yet amazing Mexican food. Here the food was upwards of $15+ but they make up for the size and portions. I can't compare to what else you can get in Page as I haven't tried other restaurants in this area. The really nice service was enough to have me leave it at 4 stars. While the carne asada burrito and chicken fajitas were done well for us, I wasn't as satisfied with my carnitas de puerco. I knew from reading the menu that the pork was fried and that should've been a red flag for me. The pork was not juicy at all nor was it a nice crisp for being fried. It was pretty rough to eat but thankfully they gave a good amount of rice, beans and guacamole in this too (which were also included in our other dishes). On our way to Antelope Canyon and had stopped by here. We started out late and so got to Page late. It was one of the few places that were still open so we said why not try it especially with the good reviews. We were seated pretty quickly and they brought chips and salsa. There were two types of salsa. I thought the food was mediocre. The molecajeta deceived us. My friend thought since it came in a stone pot it would be steaming, but it was just for appearances. The enchilada was so so. I did enjoy my crispy roll which I forgot the name of. Churros we're $7 for 6. I've definitely had better tasting ones at churro trucks. Service was not bad, but the food was not out of the world amazing. read more

Make sure you stop here in Page!! I love Mexican food and have been having a lot recently but I needed to give this place a try since so many reviews raved about it. Do NOT accidentally think it's the drive thru next door. This place is a sit-down 100%! I loved how authentic the restaurant looks. The menu is amazingly large (tons of options and the physical size is HUGE) which reminds me of authenticity. FOOD - complimentary chips: we gotta love some good chips, esp when free! They gave some pickled veggies which is diff than other Mexican restaurants, and I liked that! - dragon marg: the flavor is a mix of orange juice and a Mexican cherry flavor. We got the jumbo size and definitely could taste the alc. By the end of the dinner my bf and I were feeling it! I would order one of these just for the experience~~ the reg size also comes in a goblet too! - terra y mia (5/5): this dish was everything I ever wanted from a Mexican restaurant. I love beans and rice and they cooked it spot on! The grilled shrimp and mushrooms had so much flavor, and the steak was actually cooked medium rare as ordered. This dish also came with 4 tortillas so we made little tacos with the components of the dish Don't think about it, choose this place for your next meal! read more

Big portions. Their burritos are like enchiladas. Not the kinds you pick up and eat. Nice salsa and chips, free for the first time, they charge for it if you ask for more. Menu is big and colorful. Vegetarian food is in green boxes. Easy to see. Jabenero salsa is given on request. Drinks are large ! 16oz and 32 oz. Everyone was friendly except our server. Seemed angry for some reason. but everyone else was friendly. Ample parking available. read more
Great environment the owner/manager is dressed to impress worth coming just for him! Back to the food it's great was told to come here by hotel staff. Get fresh chips, salsa and fresh mixed greens salsa once seared which was very fast during the dinner rush. Service was great food came out fast worth going to if your in Page! read more

The location was good, very festive vibe. Got service immediately. Waiter was attentive and professional. I really loved the cabbage salsa they brought with your chips and salsa that was a hit! There dessert churro was so good. Food quality depended on the meal. Some meals were really good. Their beans and rice were very good but the tacos were not that good. Ceviche was good. It's kind of hit and miss on the food. read more

The food was delicious. As we were seated, we not only were served complimentary chips and salsa, but it also included a spicy slaw. The service was excellent with a playful sense of humor. The setting has vibrant colors enhancing your southwest Mexican restaurant experience. This was one of the highest rated restaurants in the area, and for good reason! read more

After checking out El Charo Loco (literally NO ONE in there!), we grabbed dinner at El Tapatio which had a much better vibe. It was even surprisingly crowded for a Sunday night! This family-owned chain of Mexican restaurants served up a delicious dinner but it was somewhat expensive which is why I'm giving 4 stars - it was $55 for two drinks and two entrees before tip, and nothing overly fancy. We got "regular" sized margaritas which were quite large; they also offer a JUMBO size if you're in the mood to party! The salsa was good, but it lacked spice so I added a few slices of jalapeño to it spice it up. I got breakfast-for-dinner with Huevos a la Mexicana (scrambled eggs with jalapeños, tomatoes and onions) and my husband got 2x chicken chimichangas smothered in a delicious chipotle sauce. Portions were large and we probably overdid it on the chips and salsas before dinner, so we were too stuffed for dessert. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Although the patio is on the main road, it's blocked by a wall so doesn't feel like your on the main road. read more

The complimentary chips and salsa in the beginning were so good. We then ordered the fajitas and seafood enchiladas. My parents had never liked enchiladas before but they loved these. The portions were also huge and price was good considering the size. We did have to wait around 25 minutes but considering it was peak dinner time, that was to be expected. Food was amazing, every dish was very good with big portions. We order steak quesadillas, burrito and chorizo and carnitas tostadas. Everything was delicious. We got lucky with our server J Carlos, he was fantastic and very sharp. Strongly recommend the place. read more
